Ron Paul is not OUT! He is UP!

“We are absolutely not dropping out of this race! We are focusing our efforts squarely on winning delegates and party leadership positions at state conventions.”

- Jesse Benton, Campaign Chairman

Ron Paul announced today he would not be competing in the upcoming primary states, saying that he would focus, instead, on his delegate strategy.  A strategy that is working, by the way, and transforming the Republican Party.  It is something he has said many times since the February 11, 2012 caucus in Maine.

Only this time, the main stream media gave the announcement full attention and treated it like the end of his campaign.  Drudge ran it as a front page headline “Ron Paul is out.”

It is all evidence that Alfred Harmsworth’s famous quote that “news is not when a dog bites a man but, rather, when a man bites a dog” has now been offciaily turned on its head.

For the last two years the national media has been saying that Ron Paul is out.  So how could that possibly be news?  One might ask, “When has the mainstream media ever thought that Ron Paul was in?”

Bracing for a Ron Paul win in Iowa, major new outlets last January announced that if he won, the Iowa Caucus, itself, would be discredited.  According to the New York Times and the Associated Press, Ron Paul is still listed as the recipient of one, count em, one delegate from Iowa, a  state that he now dominates.

Likewise, the fact that Ron Paul supporters took a big chunk of the delegation of Mitt Romney’s home state of Massachusetts was not big news.  This was evidently not a man biting a dog.  There were no headlines, just small reports saying we were “flooding” state conventions with delegates.   We were sucker punching the front runner.  Even this, “we were stealing delegates.”  Now, that’s a trick.

It was a ridiculous assertion.   One cannot “flood” state conventions with delegates.  Nor can one “steal” a delegates, unless they mean we packed them away in vans and drove them off to camps behind barbed wired.   Each delegate was elected at District or County caucuses by delegates that were elected at precinct caucuses.  So yes, one can flood precinct caucuses with people who in turn must get elected but that had to happen last January or February.  It was then that we beat Romney in Massachusetts, and all the other states, it was in the heat of battle.

Now?  We are trying to make nice.  Like our attempt to “give” him the delegation from Arizona, an offer his man refused to make.  So after three attempts to give him a majority we reluctantly won instead, thank you.

The fact is that all of this fighting makes Ron Paul nervous.  Yes, he is taking on the establishment.  Yes, he wants the monetary policy reformed so that the poor and the middle class and even the excluded rich can know the thrill and opportunity of free markets that aren’t rigged for insider trading.  But Dr. Paul is a happy warrior on these issues. He is a person who has always believed in a respectful dialogue and debate.   As John Tate says, “That is what he wants his legacy to be.”
.
Shouting people down is not Ron Paul’s way.  Winning a battle of ideals based on principles, in a respectful way, is how he approaches the contest and it is how he wants others to approach the contest, as well.
.
By ending the primary battles, Ron Paul is signalling to the field that  this is the end of hostilities.  In primaries you end up tearing each other down.  It is millions of dollars spent on negative advertising.   In caucuses, as brutal as they may be, you change the Republican Party, you empower the new and challenge the established.
.
The delegate strategy is working.  That is the way we will impact the platform in Tampa.  That is the way we will begin the process of change.  It is through the caucuses that we are attracting youth, like the twenty-one year old woman recently elected to the national committee from Maine or the Ron Paul Hispanics or the Independents who have never been involved in party politics.
.
Yes there is pain.
.
The establishment turned off the air conditioning  at the Arizona State GOP Convention last weekend, trying to sweat the Ronulans into leaving.
.
In Oklahoma they pulled out a ballroom divider to cordon off Ron Paul supporters and shut them out of participation.  Later they turned out the lights.  Voice votes that were clearly lost were declared won.
.
In Carson County, Nevada they turned off a microphone when a Hispanic tried to speak, they knew that Hispanics were for Ron Paul.
.
In Minnesota they told their people not to vote for any delegate under the age of fifty.
.
In Alaska, they defeated the majority by retaining the committee which “interpreted rules” and later, after taking the delegation, reluctantly gave up the party control to the new majority but transferred all of the money out of the Republican Party accounts.
.
In Virginia,  at a District Convention, they coaxed the Ron Paul delegation outside and then locked the door.   The pastor of the church that was hosting the event was, himself, locked outside.
.
In Missouri they had all the delegates sign up at County Conventions and then had their County Chairman take the rolls outside and lock them in their car trunks so they could block roll call voting and have their chairman declare lost voice votes as won.  At another convention delegates were arrested.
.
Our people have been punched, yelled at, lied to and worked until they can hardly stand.  But on they come, fighting for their children, fighting for their future, angry at the corruption of the banks, of Wall Street, of the lobbyists, of the congress, of the White House.  The battle for liberty is not over.  It has just taken on a new phase.  It cannot be stopped by the national media.  If that were the case it would never have been born in the first place.
.
And some will say that it is a lost cause, which I will not concede but it does remind me of Clarence Darrow’s famous line, “Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.”

This litany of egregious acts by Romney supporters should be spread far and wide. How can anyone vote for someone whose supporters are so despicable?

    • Mitt Romney is not a moral man.

I find little dignity in a man who destroys the lives of others for financial gain, which is the history of Mr. Romney’s wealth; among men whom scheme for ways to undermine the spirit of a law, to say, “I did it legally,” he destroyed for gain.

I want my Liberty back.. I don’t care how I get it. Where would we be now if the Founding Fathers hadn’t decided to pick up arms against those that would strip their Liberty from them?

No, sorry, my Liberty means all to me and I’ll spit, punch, kick and scream if I have to, to get it back. I expect others to be as serious in their so called respect for Liberty as I am.

  3. matthew says:

Great article Mr. Wead. I can’t believe that these liberty-minded people would worry with the GOP when the Libertarian Party is waiting with open arms!!!

  4. [...] Doug Wead took the time to list some of the childish behavior going on at the Republican state conventions. You can read the entire article here [...]

  5. Neville says:

Doug, a clarification please. When Dr. Paul said “primary states that have not yet voted” did he mean primary states as opposed to caucus states? Or did he mean all states that have not yet voted, period?

Texas holds it’s primary in 2 weeks. The county/district level delegates are already chosen, but I can tell you from experience that the delegate turnout to the state convention in early June will be affected by the primary vote in late May. Texas is an evangelical state (well, except Austin). I know Santorum supporters who are planning to vote for Santorum in the Texas primary as a protest against Romney – these people might be swayed by a strong informational campaign push. It was in Fort Worth where Paul was called to address a meeting of evangelical Santorum supporters on the day Santorum quit the race – this was not a scheduled event. They didn’t all come out and endorse him, but they were interested. Can we at least get their names so we can try to meet with them and get them to come over publicly BEFORE the primary vote?

    • Doug Wead says:

I hope our people will all participate. We have shown what we can do.

      • Eric Donohoo says:

Travis County/Austin, TX are having a precinct caucus on primary night. This is the biggest Paul support in the state. I hope people show up.

      • Rock R. says:

So will we have direct support from Dr. Paul’s campaign on how best to go about this? I mean more open lines of communication? Should we put together citizen groups with a spokesman that can directly communicate with the campaign? Many of us are new to this and need support likewise. Money is tight I understand, but Is there things like posters, banners, buttons, stickers, t-shirts, hats, or anything that can be distributed for us to campaign with? I am currently unemployed, and I will support and promote full time, all I need is some direction and communication. Any info or networking links would be very much appreciated.

      • annebeck58 says:

        To Eric Donohoo;
Austin is having precinct caucuses? I have not heard that. In fact, my understanding is (was) that this had been turned down during the (sneaky) Travis County convention. Am I wrong?

      • Ant says:

You’re hurting the chances of it happening by allowing these press releases.. You may be working strategy but at what cost? Breaking the hearts of half of your supporters? Before you head into his home state? Right before a moneybomb? Right when we find out that the delegates aren’t bound and we have a good chance of taking this at the convention?

Jesse just came out with “Barring some unforeseen, yada yada, Romney will get the nomination” True or not, is that something you really think is good to say when the momentum was building again and we have so much riding on delegates?

Dr.Paul, I love you but your whole campaign needs to realize that the Republican party isn’t going to give you anything.. You’re going to have to be willing to take it. 24 years in congress and the treatment of your supporters by the RNC sir should have shown you that diplomacy with neocons doesn’t always work very well.

I’m here for you as always but please be a little more aggressive.

    • myk_morbid says:

YES. This needs to happen. You are spot on. If you can swing the anti-Romney’s to Paul in Texas, you can win or at least get close. All that is needed is information.

How can we get the information out to the entire population of the state immediately, and cheaply, without television. This is the question that needs to answered ASAP.

I’m not Texan, I’m up in NYC. But if there’s any way I can help, I will.

      • annebeck58 says:

I am a Texan, and an Austinite. You can help!
If you would check out the meet-up groups in Travis county (Liberty meet-ups) and find Don Zimmerman, he will have lists of folk we need to call, to convince them to vote PAUL.
Anyone can do this and we would certainly appreciate any and all assistance!
        thanks.

      • The Ron Paul super-brochure strategy is an inexpensive way to get that done. Since this morning, since I first posted about this on this blog, the number of precincts covered by the super-brochure mailing have shot up tremendously. You can buy a precinct for as little as $2.75, and in some cases you can buy entire counties for crazy cheap. It’s an ingenious, free-market way to do grass-roots campaigning for our favorite presidential candidate. I’d encourage everyone to take part, even if it’s just for a $2.75 precinct.

        http://www.ronpaulbrochure.com/index.php

(Note that I am in no way affiliated with the Ron Paul super-brochure organization.)

    • annebeck58 says:

I was at the Rally of “the Pauls” on the 6th, in Austin. Yes, I did run into (intentionally) some tea-party folk, and discussed with them the fact that Santorum has dropped out. It seemed that some were oblivious to that fact. I asked what they thought of Dr Paul, and each thought him an honest and decent man. So, when I told them that they basically had two choices left; Romney or Paul, each said they would absolutely vote Paul. This is what it takes. When these people say they will (still) vote for Santorum, you must be ready to speak about Paul. You should explain that Santorum is no longer running, but be kind. Don’t say, “that Jerky little Satan dropped out”, but absolutely advise them he is no longer in the race. When you tell them this and extoll the virtues of Paul, most (all, in my experience) go with Paul. Not for nothing, but they detest Romney, whom they saw as a bully prior to the “bully story” coming out.

  6. areamike says:

Arizona cheating.. Nobody does a thing…

  8. Matt says:

► Yeah… this is more like it.
    .
    Love it!
    .

Cyring at the media won’t win a fight. One has to stand toe to toe and deliver the blows. We have to get our man to Tampa so he can stand toe to toe with Romney.

► We can get him there, and then it’s up to Dr. Paul to become the President in his delivery, tone, and ideas. He will shock the nation as he takes the stage and delivers the speech of his life. He will be polished, collected, and unwavering. The world will watch as our beloved Ron Paul becomes the new leader of the free world right before our eyes.

But before that happens, we must convince every single person we can that Ron Paul is the only choice going forward. We don’t do that by fighting or being mean. We do it through acts of kindness and generosity in the name of Dr. Paul.

We can change this country, but we must “become” Dr. Paul to the people first. If we don’t have their support, it will be a victory by technicality… and I don’t want that. We need a revolution of conscience.

    • So well spoken… Obviously you are letting your heart guide you!

    • truthseekerone says:

I’m tearing up just imagining that it could happened by the grace of God but it is extremely hard to sway a dem to vote rep. If Dr Paul doesn’t get the nomination because of the flagrant RNC election fraud THEN he should definately go Independant. It’ll be much easier to sway Rep, Dem, Lib to vote Independant.

      • Bill"Knowledge"Carter says:

So Ironic, I just happen to be a 25year(43yr old) long dem. turned rep. just last month and I voted Paul this April! My whole family is dem. and I preach Paul constantly and point out the lies we have endured since 08election. I have watched Paul in the debates in 08 and I knew then that what he had to say had more meaning than the other candidates and ’11,’12 debates proved it once again. If you watch those 08 debates you would understand. Paul was & is the only clear minded candidate barnone. What is hard to understand is that the so called republican party would pick a loser Romney to go against a proven holder of the title, rather than a proven fighter(Paul) to go against the Dem. Machine. Romney has no chance take it from a life long democrat. I would never vote for Romney and I will not vote Obama. Ron Paul or BUST quite literally. If Paul goes Libertarian so will I.

    • Don Howard says:

Matt, There is so much truth in what you are saying.

  9. Mike G says:

    Thanks Doug, for the update.

  10. Eric Donohoo says:

So when Ron Paul wins at Tampa, and wins in November, will he accept the nomination? That is the information I want to know.

    • Sprittibee says:

Me too – waiting to hear in Austin! I’ve been in a fog all day after hearing that he pulled out.

  11. Doug this is nonsense. The Paul campaign hasn’t done anything to fight for delegates at the state conventions. They haven’t sent lawyers or parliamentarians. They haven’t provided meals or lodging. What has the campaign done for the supporters at all?

    • I was asked this question twice yesterday in person: ‘What support did the people get on the ground in Arizona and Oklahoma?’

I wrote the campaign yesterday, and have not received a response.

    • @J_theRevelator

I saw your divisive post on Daily Paul. If you read the replies to your post you would clearly see the majority of Paul supporters know the conventions are up to us and are willing to do what is needed to get delegates. You know the Paul campaign has way less money to work with, and they have to be careful with how it’s spent. If you are looking for a President/campaign that will do all the hard work FOR you then Ron Paul obviously isn’t your candidate.

      • that doesn’t answer the question. sure liberty activist will do what they need to do – but if the campaign professes this focus on the conventions and asks for money for that effort, then we are right to ask why they haven’t helped and if they plan to.

  12. KC Ted says:

Currently, Obama is spending untold millions attacking Mitt on his work at Bain. Mitt has vowed to return fire against Obama and his dismal record as president. They are burning money as fast as The Fed prints it.

Since they are both financed by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan (whose on the ropes right now) and other near identical financiers who were recently bailed out, I would surmise they truly are spending “hot off the press” Fed bail out money. That’s our money the “clash of the titans” are burning up. However, neither are discussing the real issues that are taking our nation towards the brink.

Paul remains the lone voice expressing the reality that confronts America along with potential solutions. Why should he spend his supporters’ campaign donations attacking Romney, when Obama is doing such a damn fine job, spending Goldman Sachs’ money doing it for us? Vice versa with Romney.

Obama and Romney haven’t even scratched the surface on the dirt they can dig up on each other with still 3 months left to go until Tampa. Oh what a tangled web they weave….

On a side note, there is still that pesky Rule 11 which the RNC is blatantly violating, including the oh-so-important Part (b). Paul extended the RNC an inch (as the true gentleman he is) and they have taken a mile. Any perception of “permission” to break the rule does not constitute a change in reality. The rule remains broken.

However, in true statesman style, it goes unchallenged by the Paul campaign (but moves along being challenged by supporters) if Obama manages to totally decimate Romney to the point of unelectability, those funds will be available for the Paul campaign.

Paul remains ethical with all integrity is intact. Something the Obama campaign would have no plan or way of dealing with.

    • FyreWyngz says:

Nice job! You hit the nail…

    • Matt says:

I would humbly add that the reason why Dr. Paul never says anything is because he’s not into “sandbox tactics”.

Agreed. Let Romney and Obama go at it with each other while Dr. Paul quietly wins the heart of America.

As they say, fortune favors the bold. There are forces beyond all of us that are at work here.

Dr. Paul has lived an exemplary life. He’s a man’s man, and he’s a perfect gentleman. Served his country, stayed true to his wife and family, had his own business, and as they say, “never took a dime that he didn’t earn”. He’s a far “better” person than most of us have ever thought was even plausible in today’s world. He’s a better man than I.

And yet, Dr. Paul has willingly carried his message down the dusty road of life while being lashed by the mob. His integrity has illuminated all the dark places in politics and the media. His honesty and candor have provided the lens for all Americans to peer through – into the dark world of corruption that is our government. And like cockroaches when the light is turned on, darkness scatters and the unscrupulous run for cover.

There are those of us who willing run to Dr. Paul as he carries his message, in order to help. But like Frodo Baggins and the ring, “It is his burden to bare.”

And like another man most of us have heard of, Dr. Paul’s greatest achievement won’t be sitting on the throne. Of course, those of us that love him would like nothing more than to see our man run this country. But better yet… even BETTER than one man is millions of people carrying the same message.

In my mind, there is no longer any doubt. We have allowed the miracle message of freedom into our hard hearts and conventional lives. The message has brought us not only hope, but changed our very activity on a daily basis. One year ago I could not imagine myself holding a sign for a candidate. I certainly would not put a bumper sticker on my car or where a ball cap with their name on it. But here I am… spreading the Good News of Ron Paul to a lost generation.

The greatest work Ron Paul can do is to allow himself to be put on the cross by the system. A man who has “done no wrong”; and allow that system to crucify him. Nobody truly understands what’s coming after. There will be a rebirth in this nation. But rebirth cannot come without death. Somebody has to pay the price.

It is not Ron Paul who will change the nation. He’s too old. :) I smile as I write that comment. But it’s true. How long can we expect him to keep this up? Someone has to carry the message. Someone has to take on the mantle. I have confidence for the first time in my life that WE can change this nation if we want it bad enough. Dr. Paul has given us the tools and shown us the path. All we have to do now… is walk it.

    • Surfisher says:

      KC Ted — excellent post!

    • lacoste says:

      you’re right man

  13. Agreed, but Dr. Paul should have been more explicit even on the official campaign website. The words I read inspired less than motivation.

I have been communicating the same information about Massachusetts, but we have California and Texas; and, these are important to continue with nothing less than words of strengthened resolve, not with tens of millions of dollars, but with the same engagements we have been experiencing. Furthermore, radio, print, and I hand out homemade flyers. Is not this where the drive comes from; people are given hope because Dr. Paul arrives and speaks.

Is he saying that he will not engage in public forums to encourage people with his presence? Californians need more of his presence.

There is no need to run the race of primaries with hostilities. Speaking the truth is most effective with love and respect.

Mr. Wead, thank you for your encouragement and work.

Thanks Doug for the terrific article. Now, it would be NICE to hear Dr. Paul say that he wants to WIN the nomination. While, “focusing our efforts squarely on winning delegates and party leadership positions at state conventions” is terrific. Can he SAY, he wants to WIN the nomination in Tampa?

    • anna says:

this is what i would like to hear too. unfortunately, i have now heard the opposite and have also read articles saying that the Paul camp and Romney camp might now be working together to get Rand Paul in the VP slot. of course this is just rumor. i hope it is not true in the least. if RP does NOT win the nomination (which he surely SHOULD with all these delegates) then he better run 3rd party. PLEASE.

with that said, i do feel that Paul can do MUCH more by having paul people at every level of government, shaping the party platform, than being president. this is a movement. paul is the leader, yes- but it requires many more than paul to truly change the course of an entire country.

This paragraph pretty much made me choke up. I said it once, and I’ll say it again, Ron Paul and his campaign know exactly what they are doing and are well aware of what we are up against.

  20. Jan says:

I’m from Prague, Czech Republic, not an American, I see the most important parts of the RP message which came today in my mailbox as this (with my comments}:
“Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.”
-clear announcement of the continuation of the delegates strategy, the strategy to win the positions in the GOP establishment on the state level and indirectly that the campaign may have secured the speech slot at the RNC for RP …and so indirectly that it may have put him on the ballot there.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.”
    – NOT a DROP from the race, just suspending of spending limited money campaigning IN STATES WITH PRIMARIES – simply they no more want to spend limited finances on campaigning in states where the subsequent election is a subject of blackboxvoting anyway. As we have seen the Primaries are just beauty contests, a theatre made up by establishment MSM and votecount riggers which CAN be then smashed by enthusiastic RP supporters (who see that good people must do something to stop the evil, that the democracy is not just a pasive casting of ballots for candidates the establishment MSM told them to…once 4 years, and that the freedom ultimately means to take own things to own hands) at the state conventions using the delegate strategy. Remember Nevada, Maine…

“I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.”
-clear appeal to continue the delegates, GOP takeover strategies and actively participate on every political level.

“I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved – become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.”

-seriously, I’m holding breath to see the delegate strategy upgraded and refinanced.
In my opinion, first, remember Oklahoma, we the people supporting the US Constitution need both the campaign staff and loads of enthusiastic RP supporters – who know that the liberty is not for free and must be fought for with skill and wisdom – possibly at every county and state GOP convention to come!

To sum up my opinion: it’s better to spend the money on delegate strategy than on TV-ad’s for MSM crap eating sheeple who anyway rarely aren’t too lazy to vote in primaries anyway.

To see whether this announcement of (unfavourable but true) financial reality (evoking a dropout from the race) will turn out to be ingenious use of the MSM to put the RP campaign delegate strategy back under the radar and at the same time to secure more from the campaign funding cake for it -not wasting money on primaries campaigns
    or
it will turn the supporters away and the campaign will fail.

GOOD NEWS FOR YOU RP supporters:
It is now again entirely up to you!

…and RP writes: “I will be right there with you.”
Will you be still there with him?

    Do I have it right?

If that were the case it would never have been born in the first place. . And some will say that it is a lost cause, which I will not concede but it does remind me of Clarence Darrow’s famous line, “Lost causes are the only ones worth fighting for.” http://dougwead.wordpress.com/2012/0…-out-he-is-up/ [...]

Thank you Doug for taking the time with us. I watched Oklahoma on a Live Stream. I knew everything was fine today, because Ron Paul’s official site had not put up any statement about quitting.

lol, every other time the main-stain media opens their mouth, they discredit their debt-holes, and I say that with all due respect. (?) hmm…

Id rather be under-estimated than over estimated anyway ;)

Anyways, I’m so glad we have you on our team, you are quite the Chess Player. (I’d love a game with you heehee)

Cant wait to see you on Ron Paul Flix again =) You two have the best conversations.

    ~Brightest Blessings Doug~

    • annebeck58 says:

Shane- I also watched the entire Ustream of Oklahoma. I was completely stuck to the computer, all day, and didn’t even want to leave for a MOMENT, to get coffee or anything. It was RIVETING, particularly the RUMP convention (which many are calling the Parking-Lot convention).
Now, I don’t know if you saw and heard the Paul delegate say, “We will reconvene in the parking lot in five minutes”,after the chair closed the inside-convention, by not following any rules of order, but as the Paul delegate DID state this quite loudly (and may have spoken into the mic, as it was so loud), it was surely an invitation to ALL Delegates, not just Ron Paul delegates, so I do think there’ s nothing the (usuals) Mainstays can do to void this RUMP Conv. I’d like to see what any attorney has to say in regard to this, as there has not been a RUMP in a VERY long time. I found it THRILLING.
12 hours of meeting, a very confusing and seemed not by the book, rules broken at every turn, all in an attempt to SNOW all delegates to get a “win” for Romney and the establisment, and PUNCHES (yes, punches, plural) thrown by TWO separate establishment mainstays, at two separate Paul delegates.
And, they have the nerve to call US names? These folk are CRAZY, in every sense of the word. I think the most crazy thing about them is their belief that they could and would simply win because, according to them, they should. It’s insane. It’s silly, and they were not prepared to follow or even know the rules. They should have expected US and should have been prepared to take a win, if they were so interested in winning. Other than the two punch-throwers, nobody else (on the Romney side) appeared to be all that enthusiastic, and there-in lies the rub.

      C’est la vie, Mitt.
      Koo-koo-kah-CHOO!

If you truly appreciate liberty and respect Ron Pauls message we Ron Paul supporters can and will win with dignity. Any one at a rally not behaving will be pointed out and exposed as an infiltrater not a true Ron Paul supporter because we know who we are, so nice try if that is your plan it wont work. we are onto every dirty trick the establishment has planned. Ron Paul says only good actions cause good consequences.WE truly are good people.Ron Paul lives forever just like jesus.

Doug, you are a true gentlemen… Thank you for your selfless support, drive and devotion to the cause of liberty. You made everything clear, cut and decisive.

  25. Carol Jean O'Neil Goodwin says:

Yes, Ron Paul is our champion! No other candidate would have pulled up beside a supporter leaving a rally as Ron & Carol Paul did after the Austin rally on the 6th for me. I was whipped but they seemed concerned and it got my adrenaline going again. Ron & Carol Paul spoke to me, Carol Goodwin and they are so very real!

  26. Jamaal says:

I’m getting conflicting reports. In one announcement it seems Paul has no expectation of competing on the convention floor in Tampa and that Romney WILL be nominated. In other reports it seems like a stealth strategy to accumulate delegates and force an open convention, just without all the malice. My question is if Ron Paul wants to be on the November ballot.

    • annebeck58 says:

The rationale for accumulating delegates has everything to do with WINNING, by being on the ballot. Many people (still) believe that what we’ve taken to calling, “beauty pageants”, or initial popular votes, are the final-say in these primaries and even caucus votes (early-on caucuses).. But, no, it is not the case. Delegate vote IS the name of the game, and though Mitt may have taken some states’ popular votes, he has not been following-through with taking the delegates from same states.
This is one reason we’re pretty sure there’s been quite a lot of shenannigans taking place in the initial vote(s). And, yes; we did expect it, as hard as it’s been to take. Those of us who watched the tallies (on CNN or CSpan, etc..), live, were quite sure that something nefarious had happened. In some cases, we were able to count the number of voters who went in for Paul, yet votes recorded for him were a fragment of those numbers.
It is why we do say; it’s MUCH easier to falsify ballots, especially electronic votes, but darned near impossible to fake the in-person votes of delegates. And, the delegates are going the way of PAUL. That means, quite simply; PAUL wins.
So why would he drop-out NOW?
Perhaps you should watch a great film, called, “Hacking Democracy”? It will teach you all about the problems of the electronic voting machines, to say nothing of the ballot-box stuffers (we saw that in Arizona over the weekend, too.)
      (Hope that answered your questions.)
      @

  27. cnorthdcn says:

Doug cut the crap. We need words of real encouragement! I will give to the campaign! I have already given a lot for me and have gone to rallies and hung signs and traveled to other states to hand out literature and worked the polls and gotten delegates elected in my area. I have been rejuvenation by all the good news about the delegate counts and Ben swans excellent work on exposing rule 38 and the fact that no delegates are bound at the national convention. I am under the impression that we are going to have a brokered convention and that we are going to deny Romney on the first vote. Your post on the Arizona results said that it was a “game changer” is that accurate? DO WE HAVE A CHANCE!? I need to know that we are in it to win it. I Know the rEVOLution will continue with or without Paul, but there is no time like the present and if we can seize the nomination we need to give it our all. I guess what I am asking is the nomination a lost cause?

    • annebeck58 says:

WE are IN IT TO WIN IT.
We have a great chance. We seem to have more of a chance with each delegation that convenes.
Yes, the unbinding of delegates (via UTAH, and a vote for Romney, in ’08) seems to be a game-changer. I also believe that Rule-11 comes into play (not monetarily- or not yet monetarily, until and unless more comes out on what is happening with the Victory Fund), but regarding in-kind assistance by way of collusion with the Romney campaign (and I mean employees of the Romney camp) and the STATE Gop of both Maine and Nevada. I believe that in-kind (fraud) aid would remove Romney from the ballots of both states, if it is pursued by the Paul camp. However, even if he is not removed, Maine certainly is PAUL country and their straw-vote, or mess of caucuses back in Winter, were non binding, or, DID NOT MATTER.
Nevada may be a different story, but if rule-38 does unbind all delegates, not based on the Unit-Rule, but based on that unbinding of the one Utah delegate, it could certainly be that all of Nevada’s delegates will be unbound and have a chance to initially go with Paul. If not, the first round of votes will go to Romney (only in states where he took the win, which is one reason it was good that Santorum and Gingrich stayes in as long as they did- the states named for them are open). After the first vote, all delegates are free to vote for whomever they choose. I know a lot of those delegates are pro-Paul.
And, again; this IS the name of the game.
It’s a republican (small-r) process, not democratic (small-d), and it seems the mainstays of the party did not study up on these rules, or they would not have so very upset as to punch a couple of Paul voters in Oklahoma on Saturday. The stories in today’s many papers, whining about how Paul delegates are “just mean” would not have been written, had Dr Paul not done so well, again.
So, yes; in this to win this, and in this to take us back to our constitution and our RIGHTS.

  28. annebeck58 says:

This is SO insane, I have to LAUGH. These Snewze*y* folk are simply MENTAL. How they can state that PAUL is OUT is truly SO kooky, especially considering what happened in both OK and AZ, especially after the earlier days, of NV and ME, where Paul took both (and plurality), along with (hahahaha) Mass. Now Mass really had me elated! Talk about a big ole sucker-punch to Romney’s gut? What else would have hurt him more-so? UTAH? Well, it seems that even UTAH has plenty of delegates who would only vote Paul.
I honestly do not see how anyone would go any other way, if they ever heard Dr. Paul. OF course, this is exactly the SNEWZERS contine to black him out.
People; please, if you want Paul on the SNEWZE, you MUST boycott the media AND their sponsors (especially their sponsors). On my blog, also in wordpress, I do have a post all about that. I have added some of the sponsors (of the time) of these snewze-SHOWS. Now, if you will go to the site(s) of each and every sponsor, and at bottom of the site, click on (always there) “contact us” to send short emails TO THEM. Let these people/corporations (yes, as we know, corps are people, eh? USE THAT!) KNOW that, as long as they continue to support the blackout of Dr Paul, WE will boycott them and their darlings of the Me-me-MEDIA.
IF you merely turn off the tv and do not explain why you’ve done so, nothing good will come of it. It’s very important that you DO let them know that we are quite happy to hit them where it hurts them most- IN their POCKETBOOKS! I even have a sample statement you can copy and paste, then send to them. So, please do this right away in order that WE get Ron Paul ON the tele. Thanks for that.

Also; DOUG, I do have a post up about Rule-11, and NO, I am not referring to the (ugh– probably sneaky) Victory Fund; I am talking about both Maine and Nevada, where the STATE GOP OFFICES colluded with employees of the Romney campaign to falsify Paul slates, in order to split the vote(s) of the Paul side, so that Mitt would get an easy majority. I consider that in-kind aid, to a candidate who’s being treated as THE nominee, while Dr Paul surely has NOT dropped out. I wish you would give it a look, if you have a moment, and perhaps bring this up to Jesse Benton, beause it’s not just a (or two) nefarious doing, I believe it is breaking Rule-11, quite clearly.
I sent that post, yesterday, to Lew Rockwell and he did agree with me. So, I would love to get your take and, if you feel should be, would like it passed on to Dr Paul’s legal team.

And thank you for this post. A friend of mine, a LARGE supporter of Paul (she and her entire family) sent me a note this morning re; this insane fiasco (Paul drops out). I was glad I missed all of the hullabulloo, again, as it was a whole lot of hand-wringing for? NOTHING! OYY-VEY!

  29. Ant says:

If you’re “in it to win it”.,. Why in the hell would you do this?

“Like our attempt to “give” him the delegation from Arizona, an offer his man refused to make.”

Why would you GIVE anyone a win when we need them and are trying to win ourselves. Party politics? Playing suckup in the hopes that they’ll let you play for awhile longer?

I love Dr.Paul and I respect the heck out of the fact that he doesn’t have aspirations to sit in the oval office for himself but PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE tell him that he isn’t doing it for himself.. We need him to sit there for Liberty. I know he probably looks at the prospect of all of that work after he gets in office and all of that fighting when probably he wants to sit and enjoy his retirement. I can’t blame him for that but he has taken the steps and we need to know that he’s going to finish this with us.

He needs to get more aggressive. Call for a debate.. Have Rand Call for one in Texas if he doesn’t want to get his hands dirty.. Be BOLD for Liberty. They aren’t going to let us have this quietly.

Please remember that there are many of us that are willing to sacrifice all that we have for this chance. The time is now.

Remember to that we love you Dr.Paul for what you’ve done and for who you are and what you represent.

    • annebeck58 says:

I believe that statement, “we tried to give him the win three times..”, was at least a bit tongue-in-cheek. It was a joke, though it did seem that the Paul delegates were prepared to play ball, and the mainstays (the Romney establisment) did not trust Paul’s folk enough to take what was offered to them.
This is how a convention of delegates works. In some states, you offer a plurality, only to make it easier on everyone. In others, the Paul win is so obvious, all of his voters don’t feel the need to give an inch. Delegate conventions consist (generally) of talking, convincing, some cajoling, and even arguing, and then the ultimate vote (on the slate to go to Nationals). As the Romney team fears the Paul team, they did not want to “allow” even ONE Paul (or liberty) delegate a seat, so hardball had to be played.
The Romney team could taken have and would have been better off taking the offer. They refused, and they lost. It’s as simple as that!
And, this is how delegate conventions go- unless you’re in Oklahoma, where punches may be thrown (by the establishment, of course.)

      • annebeck58 says:

sorry- some of my words are out of order (ha, i am tired!) I meant to say; .. the Romney team could have taken and would have been better off taking..

Don’t forget Cobb County, Georgia (biggest GOP county in GA). Gingrich crony Randy Evans claimed that it took a 2/3 vote to overturn his rulings, IF the parliamentarian concurred with him (which she did, being appointed by him). Paul supporter Charles Gregory called him on it, asking him to cite the rule, and Evans deftly changed the subject.

  32. Judy S says:

I’m convinced this isn’t over, I’m actually not sure we Ron Paul advocates would let it BE over regardless! :)
In my county convention there was no fuss or muss to my knowledge. By the skin of our teeth we got all the party business accomplished running just a few minutes over time for the building rental. Other county conventions in WA did not go so well and there was shady business trying to happen.
What I hear about what the opposition doing to our delegates in other places makes me shocked. However, what I hear about how our delegates behave at their state conventions also makes me shocked. You catch more flies with honey, and booing speakers, that’s not honey. I’m sure Dr. Paul would not appreciate when we behave this way. We all have rights, and should respect others’ rights.
Now folks! How do we get CA and TX to vote for Ron Paul without his campaign funds in action? THAT is a question I would like someone to answer. There’s a lot of delegates in those states, are they already chosen? Is there a PAC out there that will run the ads anyway?
Thanks again for the message Doug!

  33. xxx says:

Jesse Benton is a traitor. Grass roots has tremendous power and some people in the campaign are trying to stifle it so that they can work for GOP in the future. Disgusting. I hope we will still win it through delegates. But the campaign has really screwed up. Ron Paul should make a video with some big statements to us. I would like to know how much he is in charge of the campiagn or is this just all Benton’s work.

    • annebeck58 says:

No, I believe his actions and words are of the school, “more bees with honey than vinegar”. Remember, Dr Paul WILL need all voters, including all Republican voters, to take out Obama. If we completely upset them and treat them badly, there will be much less of a chance of Dr Paul winning in November, than if we treat them fairly and even compassionately.

  34. Matt says:

My take is why announce it? Why not just pull ads – make a few more stops in Texas and California and focus on getting delegates? Unless the statement is to make Romney supporters less likely to participate…. What does anyone else think?

  35. StatVoid says:

I just want to know one thing, Mr. Wead: By your calculations, is this strategy in place to get Dr. Paul to become the nominee in Tampa?

I get the fact he’s dropping out of the beauty contest, but is he going for the nomination with this strategy, or is it simply a power play that’ll end up with Romney getting the nomination anyway?

I hope you will give a clear answer.

You know, I’m not behind Paul for a change in the party, in fact, I dislike the party system all together. No, I’m behind him for a change in politics at the highest levels and frankly I don’t think there’s much time left for us to regain what’s been lost and, if Romney has basically received the nod, I can’t see good coming from it. I know there’s a long term strategy to change the Republican party, but it can only be effective in the long term with Paul getting the nod in Tampa – otherwise, in four years, it’ll be either voting for Romney’s second term or another Dem, and that is not change. I really hope the Paul and the campaign are well aware that he is the key to the change. If he isn’t anticipating getting the nomination, just be straight with us. Please.

  36. Thank you so much Mr. Wead for writing this! It breaks my heart that people cannot stop and think, “what would Ron Paul do?” I hope I can make him proud in AR and deliver a peaceful victory. Our delegates are dedicated and moving forward, but respecting the local GOP and its rules. :-) Thank you so much for your leadership and guidance through your blogs! The Constitutional Republicans here in Arkansas will soldier on until we take back our country, no matter how long it takes!

  37. dre says:

    Doug,

This press release was both unnecessary and ill timed.

Unnecessary because most Paul supporters already know this was a ‘delegate’ strategy and ill timed because it fell right into the media’s hands to give them a further reason to dismiss Paul when there are still votes to win. So who exactly were you informing?

Thousands of supporters were still working on the campaigns behalf in the primaries. What message have you sent them?

As a campaign strategist, with the full knowledge of how Paul has been previously treated I am shocked you would support this.

So there were a few media outlets commenting on ‘chaos at Tampa’ … SO WHAT?! Virtually anything and everything reported about Paul and the campaign is twisted. Nothing new here.

‘Now you are “trying to make nice”?? … With a bunch of lying cheaters? This makes no sense whatsoever.

You have just given the mainstream media and all the political pundits the byline they were looking for…. Paul NO longer competing in Primaries!! Again, who were you informing and why?

You put Paul in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. You all knew the media are looking for anything remotely negative to tarnish the campaign with.

Not to mention you have just deflated thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of supporters.

Huge campaign mistake. HUGE. Amateur hour. Don’t bother spinning it any other way.

  40. jkfan says:

Doug Wead absolutely embarrasses himself agfain and destorys his career. Yeah…everyone who is “up” decides o not even TRY to win the 638 remaing delegates. Becuase surely allowing Romney to go into Tampa with over 1400 BOUND delegates, plus another 120 superdelegates and at least another 100 unbound (many of whom are definitely loyal to him) for a total of at least 1625 delegates, with over 1550 either bound or absolutely loyal (not even COUNTING what he gets in upcoming caucus states) is the way to be “up” Because sure…over 500 delegates will be willing to pay the penalties for going agfainst he will of hte people!

Seriously, idiots..PLEASE try to vote for Ron Paul if you are bound to Romney. You will get replaced, and then you don’t even get to vote for ANYTHING! All that talk that you can control other votes that don’t have any bindings..well, you can’t if you are replaced by an alternate.

    Mr Wead.

On and on again, Dr Paul has talked about his campaign as a revolution. As a historian, you know that revolutions are messy. Someone has to explain this to Dr Paul, because right now he’s kind of backing away from his own words. For the sake of politics.

It’s 2012, people have seen the arab springs and what people who rise up and engage themselves can do. Why this is even happening has alot to do with momentum. It’s still in the air.

The “other sides” won’t play nice. And if you are “too nice”, you’ll finish last. It’s Ron Pauls final stand. Do not fail the people who listened and rose up.

Too many times in history, leaders have emerged with sound messages giving people hope, only to be crushed by the establishment. This is not the time. Or we will suffer for years to come.

    • Judy S says:

Regarding your last paragraph, crushed as in Dr Martin Luther King? Gandhi endured with peaceful protest. I think being rude to the speakers at conventions doesn’t help you get the guy sitting beside you to vote for you as a delegate.

  45. Lainie says:

The will of the people? Seriously jkfan?

Have you noticed the absolutely DISMAL turnout in the Republican primaries this election? Rhode Island, a state with over 1 million people in it, only had 14,488 people vote in the CLOSED primary on 4/24. A closed primary, as you know, only lets Republicans vote. That’s Romney’s ONLY voter base.

14,488 out of 1 million is not the will of the people. It’s less than 2% for pete’s sake.

The media has convinced most people that Romney is the only alternative to Obama and people STILL don’t want Romney.

And I’d like to point something out to you…if we are “replaced” for voting for Ron Paul in Tampa…they’d have to replace us with alternate delegates. Guess what? Those are our people too.

If you really want to beat Obama (because trust me, the GOP establishment does not), then you better get behind a candidate that appeals to disenfranchised Dems (that’s me), true conservatives within the Rep party, and Independent/Libertarian voters. It’s the best shot we got. Fact.

I am disgusted by the Obama administration, that’s what made me finally leave the Dem party. I’m also disgusted by the Rep party. If they think they can treat us the way they have and then expect us to “join forces” later, they’re seriously delusional.

  46. joel smith says:

Watching you guys from abroad it seems that the spark of the spirit of 1776, which has given the world Liberty is alive. Spontaneous order that you represent and effective actions you drive is truly amazing and setting such an example of heroism that only in ancient times we heard of.
The unnamed folks attending the state caucuses are real HEROes. They do not have a name, can not be predicted, but they show up in the decisive moment and win the day. You are the revolution and the most feared enemy of the elite and status quo. (I think precisely for this they are trying to censor the internet.)
The biggest victories have been won by soldiers outnumbered, outsupplied but yet not willing to give up but persisting that they will win. You are just having those victories and if you keep your resolve no amount of money will be able to stop you.
    THANK YOU.

  47. Hi Doug, I continue to be utterly confused about final results of both Oklahoma & Arizona.

Claim is made parking lot convention in Oklahoma had enough quorum, simply continued original un-adjourned convention & created delegate slate according to rules. But Rachel Maddow said that Oklahoma GOP submitted its own slate of convention which wasn’t even properly adjourned. Are there going to be legal claims to be made against highly unethical & corrupt behavior? If Ron Paul won’t spend money on primary state campaigning, I’m assuming funds should be there for legal “well documented” challenges.

About Arizona, it’s very murky as well. You claimed earlier that Ron Paul “won” Arizona. But haven’t seen any confirmation anywhere. Did the ballot counting ever finish?

It’s not at all surprising, but GOP establishment is putting the Menshevik-Bolshevik thuggery to shame. I suppose being a historian, you could’ve predicted these turn of events from a planet in another Solar system. And I suppose predictions between now & Tampa are going to be more escalation of Menshevik-Bolshevik thuggery.

This tragicomedy has a silver lining to it. It is finally spilling the beans on secrets many insiders knew all along. Publicizing this information to entire country & entire world is what’s going to finish the job, as our media sure will NEVER do it properly.

If you could fill in with **definitive** info on Oklahoma/Arizona (as opposed to the somewhat nebulous snippets), it would be greatly appreciated!

  52. The Ron Paul super-brochure strategy is an inexpensive way to get out the word that Ron Paul is still in the race. Since yesterday morning, since I first posted about this on this blog, the number of precincts covered by the super-brochure mailing have shot up tremendously.

  58. Okay, I’ve tried to remain positive. But, this morning’s email from Jesse Benton has me totally pissed-off. I mean, we’re just now building momentum, and Benton sends out an email that concedes the nomination to Romney? Ever worse, he uses the fraudulent delegate count that’s been promulgated by the mainstream press to support his assertion.

I’m sorry, but Jesse Benton needs to be fired. He’s doing nothing but destroying our chances.

I tend to agree with you. We’ve come all this way and Benton says RP won’t become the nominee? WTH? It seems like he’s preparing to spew the “It’s all about beating Obama” Mantra. Come on! RP should dump Benton just after the Convention and announce he’s running Third Party. To HELL with the 2 Party System. They’re both the same, anyway.

Someone needs to put a muzzle and a leash on Jesse Benton. What is this crap I received in my e-mail inbox from him this morning? Is Jesse Benton trying to suck all the momentum out of us? I love you Doug but someone has GOT to put Jesse in check.

  62. Someone posted on dailypaul that none other than Doug himself went on some radio station an hour ago (trying to figure out which radio, link etc.) & said:

What is “giving the Ron Paul movement buoyancy” is the idea that Rand will be President one day.

    I CANNOT believe this!!

    Et tu, Doug?!?!?!

Rand Paul can go to hell, for all I care!!

This campaign wasn’t even supposed to be about “Ron Paul” the person anyway, although he’s the perfect leader right now. This campaign is about the real issues that matter. That doesn’t change & the campaign goes on. DELEGATES, Tampa, everything goes on as planned.

    IGNORE Benton, he’s a nobody.

  63. Neville says:

From Jessee Benton (hopefully a fake, but not likely): “Unfortunately, barring something very unforeseen, our delegate total will not be strong enough to win the nomination. Governor Romney is now within 200 delegates of securing the party’s nod.”

Hmmm. That would put Romney at over 944 delegates. There haven’t even been that many delegates assigned TOTAL, so far. The best delegate count, which only counts those that are actually assigned, is at http://www.thereal2012delegatecount.com . (note that they mis-colored Massachusetts, but they got the numbers correct)

    • Surfisher says:

      Neville — correct!

at the weekend — the count was:

      Actual Delegates
      Romney —342
      Paul —109

      as of yesterday:

      Actual Delegates
      Romney —322
      Paul —128

      TBA at States Conventions: 1660

      http://thereal2012delegatecount.com/

      • ItalianRPSupporter says:

These actual delegates numbers are soooooooooooooooooooo IMPORTANT [RP is currently just 190 delegates behind...], and still cannot believe what I heard from J. Benton last night [on a conference call thing], his words left me shocked at first and then totally pissed off, what the hell!?!

  64. [...] Doug Wead also published an article where he attempted clarify the matter, “Ron Paul is not OUT! He is UP!“ [...]

Doug, please reach out to us with a response to this: why would Jessie Benton’s email say the exact opposite of what this one says? We need clarity, please.

    Thanks!

  66. Henry says:

Doug Wead, yes we realize that Ron Paul is a happy warrior, but all this so called shouting down is called fighting within the rules of the convention, Romney and the Govenar was booed because they broke the AZ rules of campigning. Most of the horrible stuff has come from the Romney campaign, example assaults from Romney supporters on us. Please do not go with the media narative on this, remember when you repeat the lie enough times, then you fall for the lie even if you know the lie is happening as a suporter. PLEASE WATCH THE USTREAM OF THESE EVENTS and see for yourself how respectful we are. We are the good guys here, and this fighting is called fighting for freedom.

DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE PIZZA BOMB!!!!!

    • Surfisher says:

Main Stream Media — the only truth they report is the date….

      .
      .
      .
      .
      .

      ….Today, May 15th 2012 (true date) — after that, all is lies….

  67. Henry says:

“By ending the primary battles, Ron Paul is signalling to the field that this is the end of hostilities. In primaries you end up tearing each other down. It is millions of dollars spent on negative advertising. In caucuses, as brutal as they may be, you change the Republican Party, you empower the new and challenge the established”.

After reading this do yout think we are stupid, yes that is a lovely passage all true, but we are experts at reading between the lines, you basically given up on WINNING, but want to take the party over. WE CAN DO BOTH. we as grassroots are fighting for the win.

  68. Surfisher says:

Doug — on the 14th you blogged:

“Ron Paul stuns in Arizona, upset win is game changer!”

Please, give us the exact numbers of this stunning win!

    • Surfisher says:

Also, could you let us know the exact Oklahoma results.

In your high position, you should be able to give us definitive answers.

      • ItalianRPSupporter says:

I am deeply craving for the final results in these two states as well [seen also all the horrible / violent stuff that happened there...], some info is available for AZ [thanxs to RDCount site] but nothing about OK yet…

  69. John Carl says:

Ya know what Doug? This post makes a mockery of everything the grassroots have accomplished. So now the big plan is to try our best to influence the Republican platform and maybe get Dr. Paul a chance to givr a speech? Where have you been the last few decades? Thr GOP’s current platform talks about limited government, upholding the Constitution, low taxes, etc They, frankly, don’t give a rat’s butt what their platform is and you know
    it.
Three HUGE mistakes you and other RP strategists made were, in reverse chronological order: 1. Giving up before Texas and California, and not focussing on those two big states from the get-go. 2. Not doing ANYTHING in Virginia. This was our ONE opportunity to go head-to-head against Romney. We did well without National– we could have beaten him soundly and gotten some much-needed momentum. 3. YOU going on national TV all over the place announcing our delegate strategy to the world very early on, thus giving Romney’s wealthy donors and his powerful campaign machine a chance to launch an opposition– an opposition that, despite our progress, has cost us many delegate slots. You forfeited the element of surprise just to get your face on tv. Shame on you. Surprise was all we had bub.

  70. [...] Ron Paul is not OUT! He is UP! (dougwead.wordpress.com) [...]

  71. Slayer78 says:

These are the issues I find most perplexing:

    – RP and his staff never really addressed all the crookedness he received from the media and the establishment run conventions. Part of this is, perhaps, his humble nature. If he really is running an educational campaign, pointing out his ill treatment should have been a part of it.

    – True, his supporters were often blamed for “chaotic” conventions. But where was his team to organize the evidence to give to those in the media with curiosity?

    – Perhaps he was starting to worry about his legacy. But before essentially caving in, why not plea with his supporters to make every effort possible to avoid doing things that put him in a bad light?

I am still hopeful something positive will happen in the next few days.

    • Surfisher says:

Listen to the below — seems no mentioning that Ron Paul supporters became “unruly” only after they saw BLATANT FRAUD perpetrated PERNICIOUSLY right in front of them!

      Jesse Benton says:

  72. Hello, I heard a reference to Statistical Significance when comparing the votes for Romney and for Paul. I know what it means and I have always tried to educate people about it. Unfortunately, I have always done this “mano-a-mano” (i.e. single-handed). When only 1% votes may decide a President (i.e. 51% vs 49%), “Democracy” becomes a rather loose concept (to put it mildly as per Neocon Rules). This concept of Statistical Significance gains greater importance when one considers the testimony and statements made by Cyber Security Consultant Mr. Stephen Spoonamore regarding Electronic Voting Fraud. This Post will sound a BOLO Warning to all RP supporters. Therefore, I ask you to Permanently Post in a corner of your blog: Importance of Statistical Significance. Many thanks from The Smedley Butler Brigade! MR. ROMNEY: WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO ENDORSE RON PAUL???

  73. Jim Leithead says:

Thank you Doug Wead for all your hard work in the name of Liberty. I understand the perfectly logical shifting of resources to focus exclusively on the delegate game–after all, it is the game we are WINNING!

My only concern is that the campaign not focus exclusively on caucus states, but also continue to support efforts to place delegates from all the states. Even if they are supposedly “bound” by primary results on the first round at Tampa, we should have as many people there as possible, period. From all over.

I will be a delegate to a state convention soon. I want as many of our people as possible heading to Tampa. If the campaign supports these efforts EVERYWHERE, we can have more than half the delegates in Tampa, I have no doubt. Think about that. And keep an eye on the sky.

Please support us in EVERY fight in EVERY state. For example: The folks in Oklahoma had your back; please have theirs, and fight to get their parking lot convention recognized–they did it right, the establishment did not, Dr. Paul deserves those delegates. Do not concede. They didn’t.

Dr. Paul has awakened a sleeping giant. Feed it, support it, and turn us loose! We will be polite, we will keep our composure, we will endure insult and injury. We don’t mind. Don’t worry about us or how we’re treated. It only makes us more determined. Help us help you, and let’s win this thing at every level.

  75. Podcast of Doug’s radio interview from yesterday:

    [audio src="http://www.oneradionetwork2.com/mp3/liberty/geopolitics/05.15.12_wead_doug.mp3" /]

    Very disappointing!!!

In the beginning itself you state: On the day Santorum quit, it was decided there would be no brokered convention & Romney would have to be the nominee. And it’s not possible now for Ron Paul to become President.

Can’t believe the crap I’m hearing. Doug, have you been taking all of us for a ride all along???

    • Kind of strange… Guess we have to hear from the proverbial “horse’s mouth”.

    • Ant says:

Don’t worry about it.. We’ll continue on as the grassroots has done to date.. We are the ones that have gotten the delegate count to the point it is.

Keep pushing for delegates.. Take over the GOP.. Take over the national convention and hand a Liberty Loving person the presidency.. Whoever that may be.

      • Surfisher says:

        Ant — correct!

“Whoever that may be” — it is Ron Paul (or NONE other)!

      • FyreWyngz says:

Don’t worry about it??? Are you kidding me! Doug FLAT OUT states that IT WAS DECIDED (behind closed doors obviously) that there would be no brokered convention but continued dangling the “delegate carrot” in front of our noses! Now he’s saying that Dr. Paul is too old now!!! Too old NOW??? He wasn’t too old when the campaign began! Now he’s too old!

        Don’t worry about this?

        This is BETRAYAL!

      • FyreWyngz says:

@Surfisher: well, it won’t be Ron Paul. Haven’t you heard? He’s TOO OLD!!!

    • Here is a thought. Life is very complicated. I can think of a variety of scenarios that may explain the current situation and none of them have a basis easy to see. However, it is impossible (for me and I hope for most of RP supporters) to give up. We know the man’s decades fight. We know he is a man of principles. Therefore, I think it is better to give the man the proverbial “Benefit-Of-The-Doubt” and wait for his explanations.

    • FyreWyngz says:

@ The Chiefe: I can’t believe that more people aren’t responding to your observations. Granted, when Santorum quit I had the understanding that this would hurt a brokered convention but then Doug states that it’s not possible for Dr. Paul to hold office now because of his age!!!

      WTF!!!

Dr. Paul was disrespected for his age during the debates and he answered heroically. Now Doug is stating that Dr. Paul’s age won’t allow him to hold office!!!

Is this just rhetoric or WHAT? If it is then that flies in the face of INTEGRITY.

What kind of BULLSH*T is this!!!???

      • @FyreWyngz I know. This is very disheartening. Either 1) the campaign is up to something that even the most observant of grassroots people, independent activists, liberty leaning media, and internet r3volutionaries can’t figure out, 2) they are all incompetent morons, or 3) they were set up in the campaign to undermine it! WTF?

And @Doug, I respect you. Please let it be option number 1.

      • FyreWyngz says:

@keimh3regpeh2umeg: even if it’s Option 1 – then what we’re doing is flushing integrity down the toilet. I’ve defended Dr. Paul’s age so many times – and now his own advisor is stating that he’s too old! Perhaps this is a ploy to get in good with the “enemy” or perhaps it’s a slip of the truth that Dr. Paul never intended totake office even if he became the presumptive nominee. Considering that the latter has been a frequent suspicion by many observers…

        I just want to PUKE.

      • I just watched the YouTube video (radio interview) of Doug Wead.
Since lots of videos are old and people do not time-stamp their videos, it is hard to say if it is recent or not.
However, by the contents it looks that it is recent.
The title of the video is:
Doug Wead: Some things about the Ron Paul campaign can’t be discussed right now
The link of the video is:

      • @FyreWyngz

I do agree with you on the age thing. Here is a post I did some time back defending Doctor Paul on his age and health:

        http://keimh3regpeh2umeg.wordpress.com/articles/ron-paul-is-old-but-not-too-old/

What I was referring to when I said the campaign is up to something, I meant that their admission that they can’t get enough delegates for a brokered convention, as well as the fact that when they decided not to campaign in Primary states anymore, they acted like the campaign was over, might be part of a strategy (i.e., the campaign is up to something). With each passing story, with each passing day, with each passing official campaign statement, I am less inclined to think this. But I still HOPE that it is option 1.

But I am increasingly inclined to think their is treachery or incompetence. That also makes me want to puke.

      • QT2012 says:

I think we all want to puke right about now. This is all very disheartening.

I mean, seriously, who says things like “not competing” right before RP’s own state votes, and RIGHT BEFORE A MONEY BOMB?

I gave this morning. I still love liberty and Dr. Paul. But if the dollars don’t roll in after such weird comments from the campaign’s “strategist”, et al, they’ll say the money isn’t there and the effort became hopeless. They made some of us feel hopeless.

The strategy has ALWAYS been about delegates, that didn’t change. There was absolutely no need for an “announcement” or waiting through technical difficulties only to hear nothing new.

I’m just a little fed up today. Tomorrow shall be better. This too shall pass.

      • @QT2012 You are right. I am still in campaign mode. Just sent off some information to voters today. Picking up some signs and brochures this weekend, etc.

        RON PAUL ALL THE WAY!!!

      • Jan says:

        @keimh3regpeh2umeg
Very good point with the RP’s age. I would think he can given his exceptional vitality still live 15 years and I don’t see impossible his candidacy in 2016 only because of his age. But I think for everybody (except the establishment of course) would be better he gets elected this year – Rmoney has not much chance against Obomber according to projections, and even he would make it I would not think he would bring about any substantial change in policy given how deep he is in bed with the establishment.
On the other question what is going on with the campaign it looks to me very much like the delegate strategy is going deep into stealth.

      • @Jan 2016? Who knows? He’ll still have my vote. I hope you are right about the stealth thing. That’s what I am inclined to think. I still have questions, though. See a recent Adam Kokesh video (1 hour, 12 minutes) on the recent events for the POV that thinks this is all incompetence. Whichever is the case, I will carry on supporting the good doctor 100%.

I think there is middle ground between those that think the campaign has failed Doctor Paul and those that think everything is going perfectly according to plan.:

There is a strategy in place. It is working. Benton, et al. mean well and are doing their best. They make some blunders (either because they actually cost us something, or because some in the RP base get discouraged). We reprimand them to not do it again, and to minimize the damage. We move on. Win delegates. Make a huge splash at the convention. Then win big!

      • I did not want to say this before but since the spirits are so charged, here it is short-&-sweet and in an egg-shell. From the outset I warned about RP falling into a JFK Covert Op. Think why they did 9$1$1? There is no escaping to the conclusion that RP will be a threat to the Masterminds and Executioners of 9$1$1. Therefore, it would be no problem for them to take RP out. Whether this was the reason for the recent confusion, I am not sure. However, based on my experience with this kind of things, staying out of the Sights of Sharp-Shooters seems a good thing to do. Even then, I think that RP supporters should BOLO for any suspected movement. This is our only chance folks and the Puppet Masters will spare no effort or money to prevent RP from becoming our next President. God Bless America, RP, and RP fighters for Liberty?

      • I hope you are wrong, friend. We should all be vigilant and brave. Those in power do not readily relinquish their grasp.

      • Like my late maternal grandmother used to tell me: “You don’t have to be a Nostradamus” to predict the future. Now, if this time does not work, you better ask someone who knows IT servers and how to tinker with the security settings (e.g. cookies).

You don’t have to lower your guard.
My advice derives from the fact that I know some websites and ISP web servers may have domain settings that prevent some domains from being loaded.
For example, at some institutions, the IT people block Gmail and Yahoo.
Therefore, in this example, it is not the fault of Gmail or Yahoo but the fault of the IT people who, sometimes block domains to simplify their life of spying the e-mail messages of their people.
If a domain is blocked, the only way to unblock it is through the IT Center (i.e. nothing you can do about it).
This is why I say to try the cookies settings first (to exclude them as the source of error).

  81. Joe says:

Doug, can we “with confidence” say we are still in it to win it? OR has the definition of “Win” substantially changed. I see nothing wrong with bringing the Revolution to the floor of the convention. It seems we have been cleaning house for delegates even in states Romney and others had won. Is there an anticipated “dry up” of those successes that will leave us with only Benton’s quote of 200+?? It doesn’t make sense. I have little doubt there is a subtle plan behind all of this, and fight my paranoia that there may be something much more sinister behind it. I agree with the new strategy, but much of the top level campaign rhetoric seems very conceding. I cannot help but think back to an interviewers question to Paul who asked him, “Do you want to be president?” His answer was honest, and sometimes I think this time around he just got a bit too close.

    • Folks… Let it cool… Wait for RP to explain… Don’t push Doug… BTW: I have no direct involvement with RP and/or his Team. I am simple as old as RP and I know that S#@! happens… There could be any of several scenarios that could explain current situation. Because I am an old guy, I know that sometimes waiting and silence are important components in the winning recipe. God Bless!

    • FyreWyngz says:

      @Joe

Apparently, we were in it to win it a few months ago when the campaign began. Unfortunately, Dr. Paul is now TOO OLD to hold office.

      • Neville says:

Could you please post a quote and reference to what you are talking about? I haven’t seen it or heard it. I did listen to one of Doug’s radio interviews, but perhaps I missed something.

  82. Clearly, we can win. And, Mr. Burton’s comment, though contemporarily practical, is a lesson in defeatism: “Unfortunately, barring something very unforeseen, our delegate total will not be strong enough to win the nomination.”

If God is on our side, and I believe God is on the side of goodness, and it is our time, then we will gain the nomination.

All RNC delegates are free to vote their conscience. See video: http://www.fox19.com/story/18305604/reality-check-why-all-rnc-delegates-are-free-agents-and-unbound

If we cannot spend tens of millions, spend a few thousand, and spend all day in the states. Local papers do not cost tens of millions of dollars; local radio stations do not cost tens of millions, etc. Dr. Paul could campaign up and down California and Texas all day long.

Sure, we are still in the uphill portion of the race but we are full of good energy.

Someone mentioned David and Goliath here on Mr. Wead’s blog. The campaign needs more faith and resolve. Where is the heart, mind, soul, and strength of this campaign’s leadership?

Furthermore, same for Nebraska and Oregon, but with Nebraska and Oregon yesterday, I am frustrated with the decisions that have been made lately. Truly, the wrong message is being sent when there is still opportunity to win.

Who is Mitt Romney: Should We Vote for Mitt Romney? Mitt Romney is not a moral man.

I find little dignity in a man who destroys the lives of others for financial gain, which is the history of Mr. Romney’s wealth; among men whom scheme for ways to undermine the spirit of a law, to say, “I did it legally,” he destroyed for gain.

“How Mitt Romney Got Obscenely Rich?” 720p, less than 3 min.

“When Romney Came to Town” 480p; do not miss this.

“Mitt Romney comes from a faith tradition that holds our Constitution sacred,” said Ms. Sydney Hay, Dr. Paul spokeswoman at Arizona convention.

However, Mr. Romney cares little to nothing about our Constitution or laws, and do not you be fooled by this woman’s false implications of whom Mitt Romney is.

Mitt Romney: “We do have tough gun laws in Massachusetts. I support them.” Video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzYTdM9b5F4

Massachusetts under Mitt Romney and Massachusetts now:
    • Ownership: restricted
    • Self-defense: no Castle Doctrine
    • Open carry: prohibited
    • Concealed carry: prohibited
    • Vehicle carry handguns: prohibited
    • Vehicle carry long guns: unloaded, cased and stored away

Who deserves the right to protect him or herself from predators? Under Mitt Romney, not you!

Dr. Paul is representative of a perfect opportunity to get behind a candidate who would change this country, moving it back on course, setting sail with freedom and justice windward.

    We must keep our resolve:

This will make you cry with joy filled with hope:

    Joe — Excellent observations.

    My thoughts:

    1) Ron Paul HAS to become our next President! The mantle of delivering us from this evil government is being thrust upon him — and he, being the brave Patriot, WILL accept it…we just need to do our part to assure his win in Tampa (make sure all National Delegates are aware of RNC rule #38)!

    2) Seems his team though, is pulling back the reins:

    a) Benton SEEMS to be conceding to Mitt (perhaps a ploy to have his hawks relax)?
    b) What is worrisome is the transparent attempt to conciliate with Rmoney (the bartering of principles is the downfall of liberty).
    c) The plea to have Ron Paul supporters respect the BLATANT Frauds perpetrated in front of their own eyes (that one is a shocker — rather than expose the GOP’s PERFIDY, the people are asked to close their eyes, be mute and accept their disenfranchisement for the sake of DECORUM)!?

    3) Benton further astounds us with the comment that Ron Paul may, or may NOT, speak at the Tampa Convention (ploy, subterfuge or just plain betrayal)? Ron Paul HAS to make his speech in Tampa (which will finally give his message a national exposure)!

    4) Benton seems to indicate that the goal is no longer to win the presidency, but rather to eventually change the Republican Party by the election of a few Ron Paul supporters in key positions (long term wishing, rather than a spot on solution — the nomination of Ron Paul)?
    —————————————————————————————-

My apodictic statements — and you can bet the farm they’ll transpire (unless Ron Paul wins)!

    A) Mitt Rmoney will NEVER become President (his “followers” are apathetic, and Ron Paul’s true supporters will NEVER vote for him, but will write him in instead — meaning Mitt will lose about 10% of the Republican vote and possibly 5% from the Libertarian one).

    B) Therefore, the BO will be reelected by a landslide.

    C) All of the myopic visions of Jesse Benton’s goal to have some Ron Paul supporters get elected in order to give the Republican Party “new vision”, will come to naught — since the BO will have 4 more years to finish the destruction of our nation he started (and by the time he’s done, the BO will also be successful in destroying ALL opposition…such as a “NEW” Republican Party ).

    D) Under the BO’s second term: Expect the disappearance of ALL individual Freedom, a total collapse of our economy, loss of right to private property, a police state that tells us what to do…or else…! And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
    ———————————————————————————-

The ONLY Logical Conclusion that follows to prevent the above is:

Mitt Romney HAS to withdraw from the race now IN FAVOR of Ron Paul, and pledge his total support of Ron Paul! (Failure to do so, will result in Mitt becoming an UGLY footnote in US History — as the one that ASSURED the BO’s DESTRUCTION of the USA, because he, Mitt, was too selfish to assume he may win — when faced with the FACTS he NEVER could)!
    ———————————————————————————-

Send this to the Mitt — Resign NOW in Favor of Ron Paul, or be cursed LATER as the one that Destroyed The USA!

I listened this morning to Doug’s radio interview (from yesterday?), and the concession language was not nearly as strong as Benton’s, but was still disappointing to me.

HOWEVER, there was a point where the host asked him for some particular insider info (I was using a player with no controls and so didn’t/couldn’t rewind and review) and Doug said (paraphrasing) “there are just some things in a campaign that you can’t talk about – maybe you can talk about them in a few years after it’s all over.”

I think there is more going on here than meets the eye, and that is fine with me. I’d rather have a stealth plan with 80% chance of success that leaves 60% of the supporters scratching their heads, than to have an all-cards-on-the-table plan that the opposition could pick apart with ease.

    • FyreWyngz says:

If you’re talking about The Chiefe’s posted radio podcast then I’m stunned at how you’re taking it! Doug flat out stated that Dr. Paul is TOO OLD to hold office and suggests in so many words that there was never any intention of him doing so!

Maybe THIS is what they’re going to talk about in a few years! How they strung supporters along under false pretenses.

  85. DT says:

To tell you the Truth, I just don’t get it. The Media is saying Ron Paul is Out! – yet the Economies around the World (including our own) are about to face a GLOBAL Financial Catastrophe that will make the Collapse of 2008 look like a picnic on a warm summer day.

Europe is in deep, deep trouble. I mean DEEP! Greece just voted in a non-austerity Government – which will now face a re-vote because the European Governments want Banking Technocrats to be in Power in Greece to enforce austerity on the people, while saving the Banks. The European Governments will “rig” the Elections, for sure, to make this happen – and the Greek People know it. However, the Greek People are now running the banks! They withdrew over 700 Million Euros in just one day. Greece will inevitably default on it’s Sovereign Debt and throw the World’s Economies into a Death Spiral.

But what’s MORE telling is the FRAUD being perpetrated by Good Ole’ Wall Street – and the MSM not reporting it as a “warning” to we-the-people. JP Morgan Chase just lost 2 BILLION (and counting) in the Derivatives Market. This is MONUMENTAL. The Internet is “filling up” with what the repercussions will be when the people of the World, including the United States, face the S*it hitting the Fan.

NOW, more than ever, WE NEED RON PAUL to become President!

Look up “JP Morgan loses 2 Billion Dollars” on Youtube or on Goggle. It’s AMAZING that people and the Media aren’t talking about this!

  87. I just watched the YouTube video (radio interview) of Doug Wead.

Since lots of videos do not have time-stamp, it is hard to say if it is recent or not. However, judging by its content it looks that the video is recent. The title of the video is:

Doug Wead: Some things about the Ron Paul campaign can’t be discussed right now

The link of the video is:

  88. [...] it is the Romney people who have been committing the shenanigans, and are the true alleged cheaters and alleged vote-stealing [...]

  89. HERE ARE 2 RECENT YOUTUBE MESSAGES:
#1 TELLS RP FANS THERE IS STUFF THAT CAN’T BE SAID NOW
    #2 J BENTON IS A ROMNEY MOLE

#1 Doug Wead: Some things about the Ron Paul campaign can’t be discussed right now

#2 Whats going on with Ron Paul I’ll tell you

  90. Okay folks, for anyone who still wants to help out, here it is. The LibertyUSApac is accepting donations to have Ron Paul super-brochures sent to Republican voters in California.

    http://www.libertyusapac.org/

      • FyreWyngz says:

@Surfisher: This is a great article but does Dr. Paul even intend on accepting the nomination *IF* he gets it?

The recent comments made by our campaign lead me to belive NOT.

      • Surfisher says:

        FyreWyngz —

Unless you hear it DIRECTLY from Ron Paul …one should not assume otherwise (campaigns are known for their subterfuge…in order to gain more, rather than lose some…. under their previous strategy…let’s leave it at that).

I trust Ron Paul — he will never abandon us. We just need to do our best to assure his win in Tampa!

      • FyreWyngz says:

Surfisher: that was one of my questions – are these recent comments about age, etc. merely rhetoric or are they truthful? At our CORE we’re supposed to be about INTEGRITY and HONESTY. If these comments are for subterfuge then I find them as betraying our core. Certainly, there are other ways to pull a trojan horse than to violate our principles!

I’m NOT turning my back but I’ve been getting the feeling of being setup. Considering the recent comments it seems to me that the worst might be true: that Dr. Paul never intended to sit at the Oval Office desk. Of course, this has been rumored for a long time.

What has this campaign been for if NOT to get Dr. Paul into office? It’s been about an IDEA. Yes – I’m WITH THAT but it’s also been about WHO can represent this idea AS PRESIDENT.

I’m absolutely with you when you say:
Ron Paul to WIN — Or America to END 2012!

        (there are no other options!)

Truly – there are no other options. We’ve been working hard for an IDEA and also to get RON PAUL into office – NO OTHER.

      • annebeck58 says:

Surfisher, FyreWyngz, Rich, DOUG; You should all read what’s happenning at RNC part of GOP:

        http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/05/ron-paul-wins-nevada-so-romney-and-rnc-buy-new-party/52459/

No, it’s not a joke. (would that it WERE!) The Nevada GOP has proposed a resolution to Rule-11 because the RNC HAS (illegally, for sure, and criminally, in my opinion) melded RNC funds with ROMNEY’s camp, and they have begun to create a “shadow party”.
From what I’ve been getting out of Las Vegas, this shadow party PLANS on unseating all Paul delegates by replacing all GOP affiliates with themselves. THIS is a very serious issue, and for that, I do understand the Benton and Paul emails much more-so, today.
Please go and read my post on this rule-breaking/ criminal activity, (Dateline, Nevada) at:

        http://annebeck58.wordpress.com/

I have too many windows open to post link, again..

Ron Paul to WIN in Tampa — see HOW below!

    Superb article — must read!

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/robin-koerner/its-romneys-to-lose-heres_b_1519827.html?ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false

    Some key points:

“Romney’s Achilles’ heel is a moral one. It is the sum of all of the cheating that has been done in his favor by the party. For example…
In Oklahoma, party officials pulled out a ballroom divider to cordon off Ron Paul supporters and shut them out of participation. Later they turned out the lights. Voice votes that were clearly lost were declared won….In Virginia, at a district convention, officials coaxed the Ron Paul delegation outside and then locked the door. The pastor of the church that was hosting the event was, himself, locked outside.”

(And the parade of GOP frauds in favor of Mitt goes on: nearly in every State!)

Add to this breaking rule #11 —“…the GOP wasn’t bound by its own rules when it chose to provide material support to Romney while the race was still ongoing.”

It is the American Way to support an underdog — Ron Paul in this case — “People get very excited about an underdog who can win — especially if he is an underdog that was kept down by nefarious means.”

Read this superb article — and pass it on!
    ———————————————————————–

Ron Paul to WIN — Or America to END 2012!

    (there are no other options!)

    • FyreWyngz says:

I have a good friend who’s of the old guard Republican mindset and a HUGE Romney supporter. Of course, he’s MSM brainwashed and oblivious to the fraud. When I pointed it out to him he responded, “That’s nothing new. EVERYBODY does it.”

This apathy represents what SICKENS me about the state of our politics.

Anyway, my response was, “PLEASE – let me know IMMEDIATELY when you come across an article, video, or report about the fraud that Dr. Paul’s campaign is commiting.”

I’ve yet to hear from him…

  93. CC says:

Dr. Paul strikes me as the Fred Rogers of politicians. Polite, patient, correct, and kind.

  94. annebeck58 says:

    Oh my word, Doug;
I am sure you know, by now, that the RNC has decided to create a “shadow party”, to unseat ALL Paul delegates, and the are now melding their “presumptive candidate”, Romney, and his campaign with this party?
(the post, today, from LV Sun: Romney and the GOP BUY a NEW PARTY?? With RNC FUNDS?? http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2012/05/ron-paul-wins-nevada-so-romney-and-rnc-buy-new-party/52459/ )

HOW can this happen? IS each state’s GOP not part and parcel of the RNC? Isn’t the RNC made up of (only) State GOP affiliates? IF so, and I do believe it is so, how can they simply make-up another party, and especially, one that does not follow the RULES of this party that which many have donated to (including Paul supporters who’ve maxxed out on direct contributions to Paul)?
Are you aware that the “Victory Fund” arm of the GOP is plotting and planning against US and Paul?

Here is my take on it (link to my post, today):

    http://annebeck58.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/dateline-las-vegas-clark-county-nevada-resolution-re-rnc-37/

Please tell me I am wrong. Or, please let us know what the Ron Paul campaign plans on doing to STOP THIS. It seems to me that this is not merely breaking rules any longer. It appears this has finally crossed the divide into criminal activity.
    Thanks.
(I am a bit more than stressed over this abusive use of Power by the RNC chair, Preibus. Are you all not- yet- understanding why we are finally up “to here” with the RNC and GOP?)

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE, NOW!

  95. Neville says:

FWIW, I listened again to Doug Wead’s radio interview where folks are claiming he said Dr. Paul is “too old” to hold office. I didn’t hear it that way at all. The context of the discussion at that point was about contending for the presidency in the future, and Doug said it would be a problem because of his age. That could mean a) because his opposition will make age a huge issue, or b) that Dr. Paul will not be able to manage the rigors because of his age, or c) that Dr. Paul would not do it because of his age and the likely destructive effect that yet another rigorous campaign might have on him at age 80. But I didn’t think it meant that Dr. Paul is too old to assume office and is standing down. I think you folks are picking Doug’s words apart too minutely and finding meaning in places it was not intended.

    • FyreWyngz says:

      Neville:

I’m not sure what interview you’ve listened to but here is a DIRECT transpcript:

Question: Even if we were Walt Disney and we could do whatever we wanted… is it ever possible for someone like Ron Paul to become president of the United States…?

Doug: It is possible. It’s not possible NOW. I mean he’s 76 years old and it’s possible that Rand Paul could…

I don’t know how this could be understood any other way.

      • This was not addressed to me but I will throw my proverbial 2 cents. You are correct. However, I think that whoever says whatever should not misdirect us unless, of course, it comes from the proverbial Horse’s Mouth (RP). The Puppet Masters will do whatever it takes to derail RP and favor Mormon+Flip/Flopper Romney. I believe that they want this to secure Obama’s 2nd term (even if he were proven Gay and Kenyan). The reason is that Romney has many skeletons that are semi-hidden in the closet.

        http://tinyurl.com/Elitist-Romney-Against-Workers

God Bless America, RP, and RP Soldiers of Liberty !

      • Neville says:

I think maybe you need to back it up for the full and proper context leading up to the question. i’m working from memory here, but I do know the impression I was left with after listening to the interview.

      • Just wait to hear from Ron Paul.

  96. Bob says:

Jesse Benton MUST go. If he’s not a mole, he’s utterly incompetent. This election will be between Paul and Obama, and we can’t afford to have Benton screw things up at that crucial stage like he has over and over again in the past.

  97. NOTE: This is a corrected version of my previous post.
I did not want to say this before but since the spirits are so charged, here it is short-&-sweet and in an egg-shell Conspiracy Theory. From the outset of the Campaign, I warned about RP falling into a JFK Covert Op. The higher the threat that RP poses to The Puppet Masters, the bigger the risk for RP. Crazy? Think for a minute why they did 9$1$1. There is no escaping to the conclusion that RP will be a threat to the Masterminds and Executioners of 9$1$1: The Puppet Masters. Therefore, it would be no problem for The Masters to take RP out. Whether this was the reason for the recent confusion, I am not sure. However, based on my experience with this kind of things, staying out of the Sights of Sharp-Shooters seems a good thing to do. It is my perception that RP body guard has not been taken to the level it should be. Regardless of his body guard, RP supporters should BOLO for any suspected movement (even form their own team for additional RP protection). This is our only chance folks! The Puppet Masters will spare no effort or money to prevent RP from becoming our next President. God Bless America, RP, and RP fighters for Liberty!

  98. I’ve come back few days after posting link to Doug’s radio interview.

Since then, I watched a speech Doug gave back in February of this year in Michigan before Michigan primary. Many elements of that speech are very similar to this radio interview (talking about issues) – except for new “negative” points in radio interview about campaign.

I’ve reflected a lot over last few days. I’ve re-interpreted Doug’s statements & actually I’m feeling VERY positive. Watching that video from Michigan has helped a lot. Doug is a FANTASTIC person, & I apologize to him for accusing him in heat of emotion. There is something very dark & nefarious going on behind the scenes which can’t be openly discussed by people like Doug right now. (Don’t know much about Benton, but when Doug speaks it’s the real deal. Behind each of his statements about campaign, there are multiple unspoken but important implications.) I think Doug understands why some die-hards like me made accusatory statements. But we are the true die-hards that really care about real issues. Doug understands all of that & I trust he isn’t getting bothered by noise made by us. And I trust he’ll accept apology of someone like me. I feel like a little kid with whom critical info can’t be shared RIGHT NOW by parents for “strategic lifesaving” reasons & getting wrongly upset at parents for that reason.

Anyway, enough rambling. About the campaign itself, I’m feeling positive. Moneybomb will go through weekend & should surely cross $1 million. (I’ll donate on Sunday.) Minnesota convention was rocking & President Paul’s speech was great. There will be LOT of noise out of Virginia. Oklahoma & Arizona not settled yet & rumors going around there may be lawsuits.

There is plenty of stuff going on, most important of all we’ll be picking LOT OF Tampa DELEGATES! Stay focused fellow supporters & don’t lose heart or faith. Tampa in August is going to be one for the ages. It should end up being a convention which is discussed 100 years from now.

    Stay POSITIVE for LIBERTY!!!

    • @The Chiefe (@the_chiefe71)

I can’t speak for Doug. However, I can tell you that experienced and intelligent people know that your behavior is a natural reflex to a set of circumstances. You apology shows your ethics and morals. I applaud you for that and I am sure everyone else will. Yes, for a variety of reasons, there are things that can’t be said. In my last few posts, I have tried to reflect on my major concerns about protection for The RP=Liberty Movement.

RP is a Threat to the The Puppet Masters’ Plan.

The Masters were disregarding this once potential threat from RP because of their ownership of The NeoFascist Media.
We all know that RP was neglected to a point that even Jon Steward felt it necessary to address this blatantly unethical issue.

The Threat that The RP=Liberty Movement poses to The Puppet Masters is worse than that posed to them by the Truth Movement ( created after the Blatant Farce of 9$1$1 ).

You may want to check the History Channel video on the famous Art of War:

      http://tinyurl.com/SunTzu-ArtofWar-4-RonPaul

The importance of the video is that it shows that it is possible for a Small Army to defeat a Powerful One if the small army is well organized and disciplined. Therefore, the challenge now is for RP=Liberty Movement to enter into a new phase of Stronger, Disciplined Organization.

This will deter Sabotage from The Enemies of Liberty and transform the mocking term used for us (e.g. Paulbots, I consider myself one of them) into The RP=Liberty Soldiers (Terrorists for The Enemies). Remember, The Puppet Masters will attack through the Weakest Point and this is Discipline.

God Bless America, RP, and the RP=Liberty Soldiers !

  99. Regarding the *physical* protection of RP, RP=Liberty Supporters and RP=Liberty Movement. Would it be a bad idea to organize something like the Guardian Angels to take care of it ? I am anticipating that the opposition may want to create serious problems and having a Conspicuous Presence may be a great deterrent to sabotage. I hope you know that government and non-government people are sent to infiltrate protests and cause havoc. The recent episodes with RP Campaign support the notion that further sabotage of RP progress has to be taken seriously. The Mind-Conditioning NeoFascist Media did their best to keep RP out of the Public’s Mind. They failed. Therefore, they will raise the bar a few notches. We have to be prepare. 101. MEMO TO RP SOLDIERS OF LIBERTY

It is not only the Future of America that is at stake, it is the Future of The World.

It is Typical for The Puppet Masters to hide their New World Order Agenda.

If RP does not reach the Presidency (by whatever means necessary), America will be destroyed to further The NWO Agenda.

If RP does not reach the Presidency, this will mean thousands of American lives and millions of non-American lives. As you know, the war in Iraq (justified by the Government Conspiracy Theory of 9$1$1) exceeded 1 million civilians, has destroyed the lives on countless more, destroyed their genetic stock and natural resources with the US dumping of radioactive waste (deceitfully termed depleted uranium or DU – see DU babies), etc.

Don’t forget to check the instructional video from the History Channel (on the famous Art of War):

There is only one way forward. Because the voters in “old” Republican Guard and the “old” Democrat Guard will always vote Party Line, the strategy for Ron Paul (going forward) should be “Contrast” for “what’s coming”. The Establishment Candidates for President show very little difference in Policy, thus their “solutions” will be the same – for Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are one-in-the-same.

The “Timing” for Ron Paul couldn’t be more significant. Within months, if not weeks, the World will be facing a Global Financial “Meltdown”. The Central Banks will do what they always do – and that will be more “money printing”. And Mitt Romney and Barack Obama will gladly endorse this move.

Facebook’s “horrible” IPO in the Stock Market should be the tell-tale sign for the Economic Forecast to come. Look for the FED to issue QE3 – and the World’s Leaders to rebel.

Macroeconomics don’t lie…Keep an eye on Interest Rates for when Bond Holders realize that QE2 has “dried up”, they will DEMAND an Interest Rate hike. If the FED won’t do QE3, Interest Rates will Rise and the Economy will go souther than south. It’s all about Economic Growth vs. Government Debt. It’s Completely Unsustainable. For every $1.00 in Economic Growth – Government Debt grows $2.50. And “Financial Terrorism” of the Wall Street Banks and the FED will continue to become more “blatant” under either Romney or Obama. The Rich will get Richer – and the Poor will get Poorer – and the Middle Class will Disappear.

Currently, the FED “prints and infuses” $100 BILLION a MONTH into the Economy so the Government can pay it’s Bills. It all comes to an end in June, unless, of course, the FED does QE3.

Ron Paul’s Economic Policies are our ONLY Hope to Reverse this Course.

Government is an ever growing Parasite — Unchecked it will eventually engulf the Host it feeds on (We The People), until it sucks US dry. At which point it will HAVE to Collapse, since the feeding is over once the people have been bled to death.

Unfortunately Parasites have no brains — so cannot foresee their own Demise once they end us.

Ron Paul to WIN — Or America to END 2012
      (there are no other options!)

I viewed Chris Martenson’s Crash Course a few years ago. He is a fantastic orator and a great teacher. I’m not sure if you ever viewed Dr. Albert Bartlett’s Class where he explains the “Greatest Shortcoming of the Human Race is the Inability to Understand the Exponential Function”. Chris Martenson mentions him in the Crash Course. This class is an eyeopening experience which will lead people to have multiple epiphanies. Dr. Bartlett’s message reminds me a lot of Ron Paul’s message. It’s the “Warning” that’s hidden within the Obvious.

  103. Surfisher says:

DT — thanks for sharing this video.

    Also, your spot on comments.

I think Madeline comments are on the mild side. ‘Unsustainable’ is a very reserved term for the actual — DISASTROUS.

To put is simply — the government, now under BO, has created a machine that works as follows:

Put $3 into it, turn the handle — and out comes $1… (and there is no limit on how many times he can do this — since the Feds will keep on printing money to feed this Devil’s Machine).

The Main Stream media only reports on what comes out (as “Economic Growth”), but NEVER says how much more was put in (the Government Debt of 3:1 to play this shell game)!

  104. Surfisher says:

    My 2 cents:

    1) Donate to Ron Paul as much Money (Federal Reserve NOTES) as you can, to keep the fight for Liberty going (this is a no-brainer: when Ron Paul wins, your donations will be justified — if he gets cheated and loses, your money will shortly become Worthless…so you’ve lost Nothing of Value).

    2) Ron Paul Campaign to set up IMMEDIATELY a Law Team to BLOCK any, and all attempts, to have currently won delegates from being hijacked by shadowy, nefarious means by the Rmoney owned GOP/RNC.

    3) RP Law Team to be present at ALL future State Conventions (it is UNFORGIVABLE to allow Fraud ON THE SPOT unchallenged).

    4) All Individuals that feel they have been harmed by what they CONSIDER Unjust and Corrupt Procedures, MUST file Lawsuits INDIVIDUALLY (unless a Team has be SET) against the perceived perpetrators (in our ridiculously litigious society, ANYONE can sue ANYONE over THE LOSS of a ham-sandwich…). If you have funds, get a Lawyer, if not, CONTACT the ACLU — they’ll love to take down THE ROTTEN BODY that’s the current GOP (here is what they claim …to do for FREE… “National organization advocating individual rights, by litigating, legislating, and educating the public on a broad array of issues affecting individual freedom…”).

    5) Ron Paul’s Campaign MUST stay on track — electing as many delegates as possible (while the RP higher-ups inform The Mitt that any further frauds will backfire in the end-game…Behave NOW Dear Mitt…meaning Rmoney will get crushed by the BO if he chooses to keep alienating via obvious fraud the Republicans that are voting for Ron Paul).

    6) Expose the BLATANT FRAUD being perpetrated by the Republican Party in collusion with the Mitt’s acquiescence! Share ALL videos showing this PERFIDY. Hammer on the BREAKING of rule #11. Take them to court ASAP (the EFFECT of this is MOST POWERFUL NOW, than the eventual court ruling later).

    7) DO NOT acknowledge the possibility of Ron Paul to run 3rd Party NOW — ONLY after Tampa, is this to be discussed.

Fight with All your Might to do what’s Right — assure Ron Paul goes to Tampa (with 5+ States plurality) so he Rocks the House (and the delegates abiding by RNC rule #38 will do their honest best)!

If you are a REAL AMERICAN — you’ll agree:

Ron Paul to WIN, or America to END 2012!
    (there are no other options!)

    • Crazy thinking triggered by your mentioning the ACLU.

If the Civil Rights Movement has some steam, it can re-emerge like a Phoenix (from the ashes)…

Perhaps we can have in Tampa not only a Festival but also
      The Decisive Million Men-&-Women March

God Bless America, RP and RP Soldiers for Liberty!

NOTE: Part of my inspiration is based on the History Channel documentary on the famous book: Art of War.
Please, watch it to understand my meaning:

  105. [...] The full list, of which the above is a tiny part, not only provides a moral justification for Paul’s people to refuse to play ball at the convention: more importantly, it explains why such hardball could actually work. After all, which fair-minded American wouldn’t like to see powerful partisans punished for their arrogance? Which Democrat or Independent or even average American who doesn’t care much for politics but feels seriously let down by a political elite who act out of a sense of entitlement rather than a sense of service — which of them wouldn’t think the Paul people were doing no more than giving as good as they had gotten… especially when the nation is reminded that the GOP wasn’t bound by its own rules when it chose to provide material support to Romney while the race was still ongoing. [...]

  106. Abe says:

Ron Paul got 32 of 40 delegates this weekend from Minnesota! Good job Marianne Subbens!!

  107. I am a dem turned republican and voted for Ron Paul in the Florida primary. He is the only candidate that can beat Obama! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!

I voted for Obama based on the war issue and his professed foreign policy. But with so many big disappointments, I had to get back to my principals.

No more party loyalty! It’s principals, baby, principals.

    • Surfisher says:

Many seem not to understand that we, Ron Paul supporters, are not fighting to create a “new” nation, but to restore ours back to what it used to be and what was guaranteed since Day One by our Constitution (free and prosperous Sovereign Individuals, whereby the Government is subjected to Our Will, not the other way around which is now the Case-in-Fact)!

  108. Oh…and Ron Paul 2012!

    • Surfisher says:

Ron Paul to WIN — Or America to END 2012!

Here is the difference btwn Perfidy Mitt and Honest Ron Paul:

On one hand (more apt: underhanded) — the Mitt (who’s only real support is NOT for him, but AGAINST the BO — the usual voting for “the lesser of two evils” mentality) knows he needs to resort to all frauds and crookedness, to have a chance to win the nomination (in order to lose to the BO). These are the forces of the Dark Side.

On the other hand — there is Light! Ron Paul’s message of what is TRUE is irrefutable. It has ignited the hopes of all good people in our nation (and around the world) that Truth will win out over Lies, Good will trample Evil, Liberty will prevail against Tyranny, Government will bow to the Will of The People (not the other way around as the BO and the Mitt desire), all senseless Wars will be put to an end (we’ll speak softly again, but also carry a big stick), The Law of the Land will be the Original US Constitution (and all the hundreds-of-thousands of OPPRESSIVE Laws, Rules and Regulations passed unconstitutionally will be NEGATED), that the Citizen will be Sovereign AGAIN (and Government will become the Subject), that US Money will have Intrinsic Value AGAIN (not Promissory Notes printed ad hoc by a Private and Corrupted to the CORE Organization: The Feds) thus guaranteeing Prosperity once again…and the list goes on!

Despite the organized effort by the controlled media (here and abroad) and the nefarious means of our crooked politicians and their hired thugs, The People have embraced the Last American Patriot — Dr. Ron Paul — and the liberty flame that burns within us WILL NEVER be extinguished!

Our time is NOW (since we’ll reach the Point of No Return if the BO or the Mitt steal our Nation away from US) — We, the REAL AMERICAN PEOPLE, will fight for this cause that is Just and Honorable! You, the Despots in Power NOW, may spill our blood, but unless you kill us all, We, The Real American People, WILL END your reign of tyranny and corruption!

Ron Paul to WIN — Or America to END 2012!
      (there are no other options!)

Bilderberg 2012: The Official List of Participants

      http://www.infowars.com/bilderberg-2012-the-official-list-of-participants/

Could it be true that such key figures in the USA Government are party to this globalist gang?

I can’t believe it — this list has to be false….

Director of the NSA & US Cyber Command
      Governor of Indiana
The National Security Advisor Of The White House
      Senator for Massachusetts John Kerry
Co-Chair, Council on Foreign Relations; Former Secretary of the Treasury Rubin, Robert E.
      ———————————————–

It is understandable the rest from USA — CEOs of Banks, Foundations, Finance Groups, Google, sciolistic Professors, and other such private persona — to attend this meeting whose goal is an eventual One World Government.
As a private organization, Bilderberg may not disclose the Minutes of their meeting.

But if it is true, that our Government Officials and Holders of Office, are in attendance — isn’t there a constitutional law requiring them to give full disclosure by providing all transcripts, so the people they serve, The Citizens of the United States, are aware of exactly what was said and done?

  109. Oh, my poor kid Surfisher… Where have “We, The People” been (including me)? Even Ron Paul has commented that there is little left of the Constitution… This is why I made this video recently:

    http://tinyurl.com/The-2012-Prophecy-of-Ron-Paul

Here we are in 2012, trying to “Play by The Rules” while the NWO keeps laughing at us (smacking our faces) because we are lost in our Self-Inflicted Delusion of Democracy (programmed by the NWO mind you). [ Side Note: This is analogous to a Judo competition I participated long before your parents were born. My opponent broke my foot (ground meat+bones) because he stepped on it. I complained to him and he replied: "Wake Up To The Real World!". As a result, I went to practice Shaolin Martial Arts where "The Only Rule Is To Survive". This is why I always refer to the book known in the west as Art of War].

The Constitution was created by our Founding Fathers for a very good reason. They knew quite well how the Secret Societies would plot to take over (and if you checked, they knew what they were talking about).

Reviewing History may be too much to ask from many of us as we are programmed by the NWO to disregard it. Indeed, remember that interview that Ron Paul had with Bill O’Reilly? The interview where NeoFascist poster boy Bill O told RP: “We don’t need History Lesson”?

To understand how this NWO Monster works, please check Patriot Bill Cooper’s 1991 work: Behold A Pale Horse (audiobook and pdf). Of course, Bill was labeled: Conspiracy Theorist, an NWO derogatory term used to Mind-Condition us that Bill was crazy. Note: I started taking seriously Bill when he predicted 9$1$1 (before anybody else – including AJ who stole his credit).

Before Bill there were others who warned us. However, Bill’s book is different in that there is a description of the Shadow (invisible) Government that we have had for decades.

The reason why we have this conspicuous meeting is a clear indication that The Globalists (i.e. NWO-Masters) are near their objective of World Governance (check Myron Fagan, etc).

Although we should put some blame on “We, The People”, we should not overlook the power of the propaganda machine of the NWO.

Since I recently saw a complain indicating that no more than 1 link is allowed, I refer to the website given in the video link given above.

God Bless America, Ron Paul and Ron Paul Soldiers for Liberty !

  116. Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m
a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a
free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option?
There are so many choices out there that I’m totally confused .. Any tips? Kudos!
