A Mitt Romney Win?

“The time will come when the constitution and government will hang by a brittle thread and will be ready to fall into other hands but this people,  the latter-day saints will step forth and save it.”

–  Joseph Smith, May, 1843.

If history is any indicator Mitt Romney will win tomorrow’s election.  Yes, the polls show it close and the electoral map actually tilts in President Obama’s favor but never before in history  has a president been returned to power with such a dismal economic performance.

1.) Unemployment has remained high.

2.) The housing crisis remains untouched, crushing the middle class.  Even the smallest tweaks expected by the real estate community within 90 days of the inauguration of Obama have been consistently ignored for the full four years.

3.) Real inflation is appalling and has robbed the poor and the retired on fixed incomes.  I say “real inflation,” as opposed to the new government-media revised fake figures, redesigned to help rescue the failing presidency of George W. Bush, figures that now exclude food and oil prices, the two most basic factors in our economic lives.

4.) Wall Street remains corrupt.  No one has been made accountable for the fraud.   Even when facts and details and names are laid out by the media, the Justice Department ignores it. There has been much rhetoric but not the slightest effort to prosecute a single big name.

Barack Obama named Timothy Geitner as the secretary of treasury.  If McCain had won he might have done the same thing.  The fact that Geitner and other appointees had cheated on their income taxes was hardly a subject of conversation.  “Only the little people pay taxes.”

5.) Corruption within government is rampant.  For example, Pentagon contracts have been awarded to put American boots on the ground in Australia.  Get this.  The Obama administration borrowed money from China to allegedly protect Australia from China, protection that the Aussies themselves eschew.   CBS exposed how members of congress buy stocks on the NYSE and then go into rooms to decide the policies that impact those investments.

6.) The War in Afghanistan is still on.  It is the longest war in American history.  Obama promised to end it if elected.  Now he promises to end it if re-elected.

7.) On Obama’s watch civil liberties are in the toilet.  Under the administration of George W. Bush civil libertarians were outraged because a president could tap your phone with only a judge’s signature.  Now a president can kill you without one.

8.) Under Obama we have seen the collapse of the Fourth Estate, once a powerful force of its own in the checks and balances within society.  The national media is now run by corporations and corporate advertisers, all dependent directly or indirectly on zero percent interest loans from the Federal Reserve, which is mounting a ferocious fight to keep its deliberations and monetary awards secret.

In 2008, afraid of being called racist for challenging Obama as a candidate, media giants have remained silent throughout the last four years.  Journalism is timid and virtually dead in America.  Only a handful of investigative journalists remain, their work mainly focused overseas.  Sources are now compromised by news agencies, under threat of government action.  Major stories, even crimes, are ignored based on global corporate interests.  The discerning public has moved online.

The list can go on and on.  Suffice it to say, that Joseph Smith’s prophecy of 1843 is upon us.

At times Mitt Romney has run an unnecessarily  mean-spirited and insular campaign, one that is the antithesis of the generosity and optimism of the past great winning, coalition building, campaigns of FDR and Ronald Reagan.  But the economy still makes this his election to lose.  Only America’s guilt over racism and it infatuation with Barack Obama’s personality can save the incumbent.

The grand spectacle of inaugurating a Mormon president in 2013 after inaugurating an African America in 2009 would make this another seminal moment in our history.  The long suffering and persecution of a gracious, hardworking and honorable people would finally come to an end.  The Mormon Tabernacle Choir would sing at the inauguration and there would be chills up our spines and tears in our eyes.  The Mormon journey would finally be over.  All of American would now be their home.  It would be another true healing.

But whether Mitt Romney can fulfill the prophet’s words and save us is another question altogether.   Can Romney, the wounded animal, still carrying his grudges, deserved as they may be, now heal the land?  Can the man who will change his opinion on any issue to add a few numbers to his popularity have the strength of character to lead us?

And finally, what exactly did Joseph Smith’s prophecy mean?  He didn’t say that the constitution would be restored just that it would be “saved” and in another paragraph, that it would be “born away” by its savior.  If the historic trend continues and Mitt Romney wins,  as I suspect, where will Mitt Romney decide to take it?

  1. I would rather see Obama win after all the corrupt shenanigans the GOP and Romney camp pulled through out the primaries and conventions. I live in Texas, so I can’t write in Ron Paul and all electoral votes will go to Romney. I will be voting for Gary Johnson, only so the Libertarian Party can get 5%.

    1. I wrote in Ron Paul in Austin.
And I don’t care how they count it or not. I only care that,
      1. they see it, and,
      2. the vote is not switched/flipped/plucked for Mitt Romney.

I cannot go with Johnson considering Johnson is nearly the Neocon Mitt is.

      1. I find it interesting that you would be at such odds with Ron Paul. Dr. Paul thinks very highly of Gary Johnson and the feeling is mutual.

      2. Mark, having spoken with her about this subject, the dealbreaker for Anne with respect to Gary Johnson is that he supports foreign aid (to some countries), and has voiced support for humanitarian wars in some cases (e.g. letters of marquee and reprisal for Uganda/Sudan).

She is overstating it when she says Gary is “just as much” of a neocon as Romney, of course… Johnson wanted to cut the DoD budget by ~$200B whereas Romney wanted to boost it by ~$200B… but her point is a philosophical and ideological one. Namely, if Gary doesn’t understand that playing favorites with foreign aid, and that playing favorites with inciting warfare (no matter what adjective you put in front of the war), is going to cause severe blowback… well then, Gary doesn’t *really* understand Ron Paul’s foreign policy positions. I’ve started to come around to Anne’s way of thinking, on that point.

Anyhoo, my hope is that Gary will run for senate in 2014, and then return to the repub primary debates in 2015… with the implied threat that if the establishment-repubs and their media-minions again rig the rules to keep two-term-governor Johnson out (when they allowed one-term-governor Mitt), he will run libertarian again in 2016… and the second time around, be quite likely to *get* that 5% funding-target. Whether he returns to the repubs, or sticks with the big L, though, my hope is that he studies the foreign aid question more deeply, and looks into the long-term blowback that always results from entangling alliances (whether they be military in nature or economic ones).

      3. Hey, -j-? Please do not presume to know what research I have done or not. Do not qualify my comments or change my words. I did not say Johnson was equivalent to Romney as a Neocon. I did say he’s closer to the regular GOP than he is to any Libertarian I’ve known.
Honestly, I do think about the words I use, and it’s after I’ve RESEARCHED the subject, quite well. You know little of me and I’m happy to keep it that way.

Rand and Johnson are closer to ideology than is either close to Ron Paul’s libertarian-leanings, in MY opinion. For this reason, I would not support either as presidential candidate.

Honestly, I do bristle at the ideas some people put out there and ascribe them to ME. This is not what I said, yet you go on as if I did? Very much unappreciated.

      4. Anne, apologies to have quoted you as saying “just as much” when you said instead “nearly the”. But actually I was referencing your earlier comments (not this one here) about Gary being essentially in the same category as Romney & Obama. And beyond that first half of a sentence, I was just telling Mark (in my own words) some things you’d taught me. Not trying to put words in your mouth, or say what you’d researched. Just credit where credit is due. No offense meant.

  2. I always enjoy reading Doug Wead’s perspective on the actions of the political parties and governments. It is completely unique in all regards.

  3. OK, someone’s got to ask. Why do you believe Romney will win? Joseph Smith had such a remarkable record in prophesy.

    1. I did ask this question, at some point — Doug said it was mostly a gut feeling, from watching elections in the past. He knew the polls were saying that Obama was likely to win, but had a hunch the polls were being purposely skewed against Romney, and that Mitt would take the actual election. (There was a precinct-chair in my county with the same sort of hunch — he believed Romney was going to be able to pull out a win in Pennsylvania, because he thought the polls were 5% off.) Anyway, my precinct-buddy, and also Doug Wead, turned out to be wrong. Mitt failed to win enough votes, and the polls were pretty close to correct.

However, look at the turnout numbers: only 57m people could overcome their disgust, and drag themselves to the polls to vote for Romney… whereas McCain got 60m, and Bush2nd in 2004 got 62m, despite the smaller overall population of the USA back then! Obama crashed hard from his 69m votes back when he was unknown in 2008, barely getting 60m… which means he would have lost to McCain’s total, if 2012 had been a rematch. Even though Obama was so bad that he barely beat Kerry’s 2004 numbers (despite Obama having a much larger USA population to draw support from), the sad fact is that Mitt was *worse* than even Obama, worse than Kerry, worse than McCain, and worse than Bush2nd. Sheesh.

Oh, but Mitt *was* better than Al Gore… who back in 2000 only got 51m… sigh. Ummm, oops, wait a minute, Gore got 51m out of 281m which is 18.1% whereas Mitt got 58m out of 314m which is 18.5% … whew! By the skin of his teeth, Mitt *was* a better candidate than Gore… about two percent better, or about 1m popvotes in 2012.

  4. Uh Doug, weren’t you in Tampa with us? Did Romney & his cohorts have any relationship with the truth & fairness? Why should a Romney administration be any different? I watched the primary debates & the general debates. There was nothing in Romney’s responses or speeches that made me think that business would be anything but the usual corruption we’ve had for decades, under his administration. I voted Gary Johnson. I voted my conscience. I voted my principles.
    Cynthia Kennedy, Delegate, Nevada

    1. Bravo Cynthia!

Just Say NO to Rmoney — VOTE for ANYONE but Mormon Mitt!

Keep Mitt’s mittens off of the White House — or face An American Tragedy!

The Mormons stripped the richest man in the world, Howard Hughes, not only of his life, but his entire fortune (that is how the Mormons got financial power to jump start their cult)!

Now another Mormon wants to do the same to our entire Nation!
And his 5 Mormon Sons are waiting in line of a Rmoney Dynasty to finish US off!

*Vote FOR Gary Johnson* — Do NOT vote for Mormon Mitt (or Barack Hussein) the lesser of two evils!

  5. I’m voting for Gary Johnson, the Republicans blew it when they nominated a liberal to run against a liberal. Atleast I can say by voting for Gary, we are lending more credibility to third parties, and hopefully to secure federal funding for the party. The two party duopoly must come to an end…

  6. I think Romney needs a Saul-to-Paul moment. Nothing short of that would give me any confidence of Romney resisting the corruption in the federal government and actually doing what he could to save the Constitution. It’d be totally sweet if it happened, and Romney put Ron Paul in as a judge when one of the other judges retire, but I’m not going to count on it.

    1. If anything, Romney has already had a Paul-to-Saul conversion. From his background, it appears he was doing some good work as a missionary, bishop and stake president, But now he’s a total puppet of modern Gadionton Robbers the Book of Mormon warns would take over our government and seek to destroy the freedom of all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people. Ether 8. The second greatest message of the Book of Mormon (that a secret combination destroyed the Nephites and Jaredites of the Book of Mormon, would also seek to destroy America) is being fulfilled before our eyes, and Romney is a willing participant in bringing that destruction to pass. Shameful and disgusting.

Doug, if you want me to write a 500-word essay on the above statements with precise scripture references, let me know.

      1. I’d like to read it, too. Why not post it here, if you’d like — I’ve put way more than 500 words into a comment before, so I doubt Doug would disapprove. Just skimming the index-entry on secret combinations, some quotes jump out: the Lord destroyed the Jaredites because they did not repent of secret works, the Lord will bring secret works out of darkness into light, God’s judgement come upon workers of darkness and secret combinations, government is destroyed by secret combinations, the Lord works not in secret combinations, nations that uphold secret combinations shall be destroyed, rebellion arises because of secret combinations…

However, if you’d be willing to make it 1000 words, you might give us the contrast with the freemasons of the 1700s, who were utterly crucial to the American Revolution… in 1752 George Washington joined in VA, with Ben Franklin joining in 1731, and latecomers John Jay in 1789 and John Marshall in 1793, not to mention John Hancock plus Paul Revere as well as Lafayette… others included financier Astor of NY, scotus Ellsworth of CT & Rutledge of SC & Blair of VA & Baldwin of PA & Cushing of MA & Paterson of NJ, constitutional delegates Bedford of DE & Brearley of NJ & Gilman of NH, Generals deKalb of PA & Lincoln of MA & Warren of MA & Putnam of OH, SecDef Armstrong of NY & Knox of MA, canal builder Clinton of NY… also, of course, Benedict Arnold of CT… there are bad apples in every secret combination, it seems!

  7. Doug, I am hoping you are wrong. Four more years of Obama would be bad, Eight years of Mitt would certainly be worse for the liberty movement based on what we saw during the campaign and in Florida. I agree with Ralph Hornsby, above. We need to get 5% for the Libertarians and get new voices out there.

  8. Romney is no friend to the Constitution, but there ARE some great Mormons who are and even more non Mormons who are too. But the Constitution is dead. Any saving of the Constitution by Mormons will have to be done on a state level at this point after a total collapse of our federal government.

I’m conflicted though. Would I rather have a hard core murderous communist running the executive branch and worse, his minions of hard core communist thugs wreaking havoc, or a power-hungry Mormon who I might have a faint hope could be somewhat kept in check by his constituents on key issues important to our freedoms?

For once, I find it easier to say it might make sense to support the lesser of two evils.

    1. Regarding your vote for the lesser of the two evils: How can you discern which is less evil?
If you only see Rommey as a power-hungry Mormon, you don’t know a lot about Mitt. Do a quick search into MItt, including one I did this weekend: Mitt and Monsanto (who’ve destroyed any hope the American and even Canadian farmer has left in maintaining his business) to see there’s a lot more worse about Mitt than there is, “less evil”.
I don’t see how any self-respecting American can vote for Mitt, ever. But, perhaps, I’ve paid too much attention to Mitt?
It seems to me that most who have decided it’s okay to vote for him did not initially want Mitt and cannot say much about Mitt because they’ve not paid attention to this terrible person.
If he’s what others should use to guage Mormonism, the Mormon faith would be questionable. (no, I did not say I use him as a Mormon yardstick, but others have said so.)

A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Ron Paul.
An e-machine vote for Rombama or Obamney will end up as they intended, and not as you intended.

      1. Well, Anne, I do believe Mitt is evil. I think he sold out long ago to the dark side. He is a MINO (Mormon in Name Only).
Today I voted for Gary Johnson. But if I had only two choices, I think I’d pick Mitt, who might be held a little in check by his constituents. Vs. Obama who I could see sending Brown Shirts to my house to kill or arrest me. I don’t think Mitt would do that. So there are different levels of evil, and I don’t think Mitt could do that. I’m not sure he has it within him to repent either. I think it’s too late for him.

      2. I can see no difference between Mitt and Obama. Evil is as evil does.
Yes, we’ve already seen what BO’s done, not caring what anyone thinks.
But, Mitt has already shown he does not care about people, either. I look at what he’s done under business names, Bain and Raetheon, and I can see he’d be a terrible person to have in-charge. Too many small towns have been ruined by Mitt and Co.

If there were only those two choices, I’d either not vote, or would do as I did; write-in Ron Paul. After this year, and after 36 years of voting, I think I’m done with it all.

    2. By the way, thanks for saying exactly what i was going to say to Surfisher, below. This going on about, “Mormon Mitt”, truly is bigoted. I was prepared to get into it with SF, today, and appreciate, “the assist”, so I didn’t have to.

There’s enough bad to be said about Mitt that his faith or lack thereof should not need to enter into the discussion. I’m an atheist and I find that sort of pointing at his or anyone’s religion irritating and, yes, bigoted.

  9. Also, for the benefit of unaware: The 1843 Joseph Smith prophecy which Doug refers to above is here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Horse_Prophecy

“You will see the Constitution of the United States almost destroyed. it will hang like a thread as fine as a silk fiber…. and it will be preserved and saved by the efforts of the White Horse”

where White Horse is some other biblical apocalyptic mumbo jumbo.

Not that I believe in any of this stuff. Just providing as reference if some might be confused by it.

    1. Apocalyptic Mumbo Jumbo? The Apocalypse IS Upon Us!

Apocalypse – noun – (Ancient Greek: ἀποκάλυψις) – a revelation of something hidden.

Take out The “End of the World Happens Really Badly” Crap and We are living through the end of times. This Present Time, Certainly. Space travel, Nano Technology, World Interlinking Capabilities, the rise of individual freedom once again. The Old World is about to “Explode”. Just to too much all over ya. : )

  10. I guess Romney does “save” it (for later), by blocking O’s mantle and being odious enough toward Ron Paul to toss 5% to Johnson (for later). This’ll take more than 1 election cycle in front of us after all – we all know this and have for many years, however painful it is. I feel we were hoping to interrupt this course earlier, now so fewer were hurt en route though?

    1. Mothra, folks who supported Ron Paul in 2012, or 2008, or 1988, *have* to be optimists. Ditto for folks who support the Constitution, as much shredding as it has undergone! We are all filled with hope.

Sometimes the hope is too much, and we lose sight of cold hard reality, that old standby of the objectivists among us. We did hope to interrupt the slide towards totalitarianism, not merely so that fewer folks would be hurt by the continued-and-accelerating abuses of power that seem so glaringly obvious to liberty-folk (Doug touched on many of them in his article), but also because we yearn for an end to seemingly-endless battles, some time to enjoy our newly-regained liberty & justice for all, languish in the laissez-faire prosperity, etc.

But we forgot: the price of liberty is eternal vigilance. Even once we have won, and have a liberty-president backed by a liberty-congress with dual supermajorities, the fight for liberty won’t be over. Because, as the wise man once said, it is our Republic… if we can keep it.

So, yes, you are dead center perfect: the timespan between 2008 and 2012 was merely the beginning of our struggle. The timespan from now until 2014, and then 2016, may not be the final phase, either. We need to gird ourselves for the long haul. We need to conserve our gumption. We need to pick our battles carefully, and forge alliances with constitutionalists, tea-party folks, Mormons, evangelicals, civil-liberty blue-dog dems, and others that share some of our goals. Most crucially of all, we must realize that pouring our hearts into one big presidential explosion, the Ron Paul r3V0Jution of 2012, is over now…

…but that the *real* work is just beginning. Starting now, we must spread the message of pauliticians across the land, through word of mouth, by going door to door, in one-on-one exchanges across the internet. During the next four years, we’ll have to go onward, having lost one of our great champions, Obi-Ron Libertea… and although he was struck down by Darth Ginsberg, using the evil anger-driven side of the force… just like in the movies, Ron’s voice will still ring in our ears, for the span of many sequels.

I don’t expect the next years to be easy. Even if we manage to win the potus or vpotus slot in 2016, dealing a very heavy blow, I expect the establishment will strike back. If we want our liberty, we must be prepared to offer our lives, fortunes, and sacred honours… and then, once we win, we must *remember* to remain ever-vigilant.

As an optimist, full of hope, I think we’ll manage it.

  11. Sorry Doug, but many of us know the fix was in from the very beginning when Mitt was invited secretly to the Bilderberg Conference, just as Obama and Hilary were 4 years ago. The outcome was determined a long time ago and we are just being strung along to give the illusion that democracy has been served. Keeping this race close is part of the plan, so when they commit fraud it will be more difficult to detect, or people will just go along with whatever the media feeds them. This is nothing knew. We are also being set up with people like Michael Moore and Bill Maher making comments that those Obama folks will come after you or there will be civil unrest and anarchy if MItt gets elected. Martial law will be enacted no matter which one of these puppets gets in office and we are being set up for the great fall. Just in case you did not know, the Mormons made a deal with the NWO elites along time ago because they saw it as a means to make money and so their religion could be part of the new religion. Mitt Romney holds high status in the church, so the elites will elect him not because we voted him in, but because this is his reward for the loyalty shown by those high up in the heirarchy of the church. Many in the church did research and discoverd that they had sold out long ago but had no power to do anything about it. Mormonism just lends itself to slavery as they demand complete obedience and it about mind control-another cult to control people. I’ve had many friends get out of it and tell me what they had to do and what they believed. Whacko….Just amazed at my relatives who are fundamentalists who seem to put down Muslims and their faith but obviously no nothing about Mormonism. It’s like Scientology. They are voting for Romney because ????.

Surfisher=looks like the ron paul site has been hacked again.

And his 5 Mormon Sons are waiting in line to finish US off!

*Vote FOR Gary Johnson* — Do NOT vote for Mormon Mitt (or Barack Hussein) the lesser of two evils!

      1. You’re on crack. Howard Huges left the bulk of his fortune to the Howard Hughes medical trust. There are many reasons to despise Willard Romney. His religion is not one of them.

    2. Robin, the Mormons didn’t make a deal with the NWO elite. What non sense have you been reading?! Their doctrine warns in fact against such elitists that seeks to globally rule.

Mormonism lends itself to slavery? LOL. Its entire doctrine aims to free men from the slavery of sin through Jesus Christ, and a basic tenet is to learn truth directly from God and trust no man except he be a man of God. Also the doctrine aims to free men from temporal bondage and slavery by supporting people like Ron Paul who champion the ideas of Liberty as contained in the Constitution. Your post is a regurgitation of lies and misinformation.

I assume you may have just been reading anti Mormon literature, so if I may recommend to you something novel – read the Book of Mormon and scrutinize it. So far it’s withstood over 180 years of scrutiny and not been proven in error. Enemies attack everything but what the church says is its foundation – the revelation to modern man known as The Book of Mormon, a warning voice to the world in fact that Jesus is the Christ and there are NWO elements that seek to destroy freedom and prosperity.

      1. Underdog, I agree with most of what you say, but I have a quibble. During my own scrutiny, I found Morm 6:2, 6:6, 6:11-15, & 8:2. The intro says the plates were hid by Moroni in the hill Cumorah, the same hill where the ~100k skeletons were left to rot circa 400ad, and the same hill for which the testimony of Joseph Smith in the intro gives an exact modern-day geographic location in NY. Unless archaeological digs in that region discover geostratified evidence of the mighty battle, there must be an error in the text. See also 8:12, however.

  12. Obama will win – there has never been a candidate so weak as Mitt Romney; so as bad as Obama’s term has been, unless he is up against an electable R candidate (GOP had their chance) or people suddenly awaken and vote for one of the third party candidates (all major third-partiers are much better than Obama) then we will have a second term for Barack Obama.

  13. Doug, if it happens you’re wrong, you can get away with it. You make no claims to being a prophet.
With Romney, WYSIWYG. A man without principles wouldn’t know where to begin to restore principles.
With Obama, again WYSIWYG. A man with principles — albeit wrong principles — can accomplish much, especially against no principles.
Our only hope in a political sense is to build up a public consciousness of the principles. Then we could elect the devil and he wouldn’t get away with much.

  14. Joseph Smith was a false prophet. He was not the only false prophet of America, not the last, and wasn’t the first false prophet in history, either. Having said so, I think it applies here that even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day.
I wish Romney to lose. It’s difficult to find someone more against free market than a very succesful businessman. Private equity superheroes are almost at the top of the anti-laissez-faire list, second only to socialdemocrats.
On the other hand, the leaders of the christian-right deserve a mormon President. It’s the only way to simple people to understand how phony are those guys who like to play roulette at the Congress Casino with people’s faith as chips.
Also, it will be so fun to see those lame radio superstars trying to defend the most president Romney, who will soon be regarded as the most leftist President after Barack Obama.

I’ve seen many neocon propaganda lately stating that Romney is different from Obama. Yeah, the same difference between Stalin an Khruschev. There are many things that must be fix in America’s Federal Government, and neither Obama nor Romney are the right choices. So, unless a miracle happens, the next four years will be simply another blot in the history of the USA, another four years lost for the cause of liberty and sensible Economics, and, in the worst case scenario, some thousands of people will die under the fire of American weapons, directed by the whim and shamelessness of these good-for-nothing politicians.

42,426 votes were cast for Ron Paul back in 2008. Let’s see how much the number of sane people has risen in these four years.

    1. Sad but true. I hate to say it, really, but America has asked for this … not all of us, but way too many. We are in for some bad times. Best get ready.

      1. Quite sadly, the overwhelming number of American voters have absolutely zero clue as to what or whom they’re casting their ballots for. it bothers me to no end!
I honestly believe we need to give people a (political) current-events test, before they’re allowed in the polling booths. Sure, it’s not very “libertarian” of me, but these people change OUR lives.

(***before anyone goes off of the deep-end, “these people”, is in reference to ALL STUPID Americans.. not any particular group of Americans. They hurt us all by not not doing any research, at ALL.)

  15. It’s hard living in California; high unemployment, rabid environmentalism, anti-2nd Amendment, crowded, expensive, taxes, liberals and fruitcakes and earthquakes under every rock, etc., etc.

But California has one good thing going for it. I can write in Dr. Ron Paul and that is exactly what I intend to do!

Romney is arguably the most liberal big government Republican EVER nominated. Add to that his Mormon cult bona fides’ and his war mongering attitudes and, well, there you have it.

The Republican Party establishment needs to be punished; yes, that’s right, I said PUNISHED for the way it treated the best candidate ever to run for POTUS, Ron Paul. I’m convinced that the best way to reform the Republican Party is for life-long loyal Republicans, like me, to stay home or write in Dr. Paul and hand the GOP a loss. Yes the country will suffer under Obama for four more years as it has for four years already. But I suspect it will suffer little less under Romney.

In fact, the next President may inherit a whirlwind that NO PRESIDENT could dare reap; and that will probably be the case.

Vote for Tea Party types in the House and Senate, write in Ron Paul if you can in your state, and … keep your ammo dry.

  16. Doug, with your expert knowledge in presidents…. is it your opinion FDR wasn’t as abismal as Obama? Obama’s working from the same playbook. I absolutely can see an Obama re-election.

thanks for all you have done for dr. paul and LIBERTY!

  18. I’ll be representing Ron Paul by voting for him tomorrow in the great RINO state of Alabama.

    Don’t Tread On America, RINOS!

  19. Mr. Wead, I can believe your apologetic promotion of Romney. Congressman Ron Paul never should have hired you. You helped bring about his campaign collapse by your lack of aggressive promotion of Ron Paul’s cause and his inclusion at the Convention. It is so very important for Ron Paul supporters to vote for Gary Johnson. Romney showed his lack of principles by ignoring the corruption demonstrated by the Republican Party all the way up to the convention. Shame on Romney and shame on you Mr. Wead.

  20. “never before in history has a president been returned to power with such a dismal economic performance.” Excuse me? What about FDR?

    1. John, methinks you hit the nail on the head. (However, bnut made the same point a couple hours before you… great minds think alike.) Along the same lines, there is a good reason that Obama’s hero is FDR — because their political tactics work *exactly* the same way.

If you give enough people enough bribes — free condoms, free cellfons, free broadband, free retirement cheques, free unemployment cheques, free healthcare, free cash4clunkers, free auto union bailouts, free university loans… plus for the elites, free bank bailouts, QE3+INF, plenty of military-industrial-complex spending, and so on… well then, it hardly matters how well the nation does, eh? Plus it helps if you can get most of the idiot-box sex-symbols and pop-music one-hit-wonders on your side, for the razzle dazzle — cf talking-head pundits. Sigh…

The collapse of the Roman republic was caused by military over-extension abroad, and bread&circus welfare at home.

  21. I’m voting Romney because I already know where Obamanomics is taking us, and it is no where good. I know it may sound far fetched but I enjoy getting up and contributing to society through good honest hard work. To support my fellow man through networking and contributing my fair share is something to hold my head high for when I’m ready to die. For family and country I live for. Socialism through Government control to strip my physical and moral freedom away from who I am gives me no choice but to fight to die for what I stand for. Romney, for now gives me a purpose to my present place in society, and where I can direct it from here. Obama tells me it’s got to be this way to make you happy, and any common-sense of a man will say “I am a free man, let me live as I wish, and die as, God intends. Not by Government when it says it’s time! After Romney is elected (within hope), Although, Robin says may be on to something, We do have to keep an eagles eye out for Romney and trying to pass his religious views. Are we being set up as pawns for a political view, and can we even see it if it is before our eyes. Stand tall Americans, and vote for what you believe America means to you? I on the record will say this election is about winning another constitutional battle for my right for freedom. If Romney does not comply with his words, then we as a people will fight against him, and he will fail also, for we are Americans fighting for our right promised to us.

  22. As a Mormon, I appreciate Mr Weads comments. I myself did not vote for Romney nor Obama, but I enjoy reading his perspective. Joseph Smith did indeed prophecy that the Constitution will be saved.I personally think there will be a future leader rise up that saves our Constitution. It Could be Rand Paul, it could be Raul Labrador from Idaho. I personally favor a Paul/Labrador ticket in 2016. We are going to need a Hispanic on the ticket. Labrador could be that man. He understands the Constitution. He is a solid family man.

  23. I don’t know, Doug Wead.
It’s four more of Obama or eight of Romney.
And I don’t know which is worse.

But, I still see Mittens as a fall-guy, as he is, “the worst Republican ever”. That the GOP would go with this guy is evidence to me that Obama gets another four years.

    …and I don’t really think it matters.
Americans are far too stupid or oblivious to what’s really happening and too poor to buy a clue; Rombama/ Obamney is destruction of US Constitution. Most Americans have zero idea and it’s sad.

I wrote-in Ron Paul via my paper mail-in ballot.

    1. “Most Americans have zero idea and it’s sad”

This is the key difficulty. For every person that wrote in Ron Paul, or checked the box for Gary Johnson, there were literally a hundred other citizens that voted for the twin-party nominees, half for Obama aka team blue, the other half for Romney aka team red. Even worse, about 80m people stayed home — if even 3 out of 4 of those had managed to get up the gumption to get to their precinct location and cast a vote for liberty, neither of the duopolists would have won!

How do we wake people up? We don’t have control of the media… and the controlled media isn’t going to magically start doing real investigative journalism again any time soon, for corruption-related reasons Doug laid out in the post. It’s an uphill battle.

We still have the internet, with the viral memetic nature of truth. We still have word-of-mouth, and it is still the best form of advertising. But methinks that unless we start helping the other 99% purchase their clue coupons *long* before the next primaries, we are in trouble. Education has always been a part of Ron Paul’s reason for running… and I don’t think anything has changed. We need to keep pushing the liberty-message, polishing and refining our pitch as we go along.

  24. Surfisher, Prepare yourself for at least four years of Romney and war, war, war.I know now he is the “anointed” one. Ben did a program on Hamilton County in Ohio where his station is and this could decide the presidency where Romney is connected with the company that owns those electronic voting machines. Bev Harris says to dress up in red and blue, green, etc-party designation, but I plan to wear black tomorrow because I will be in mourning. We will be dropping off our mail=in ballots tomorrow and sad to say, I will be voting for a third party candidate in most of the races here. Both parties are exactly the same. I’m totally disappointed in a state representative we were supporting because he is totally status quo, but better than his democratic challenger. What a year! Pathetic….

    1. robin —

If Mormon Mitt gets into the White House — he’ll start purges against Ron Paul’s supporters to make comrade Stalin proud.

And his 5 Mormon Sons are waiting in line to finish US off!

*Vote FOR Gary Johnson* — Do NOT vote for Mormon Mitt (or Barack Hussein) the lesser of two evils!!!

  26. I remember a poll several months back that revealed “anyone” could beat Obama. What does the GOP do? They ram in the worst flip flopping sell out liar they could find. That right there had me convinced they were pushing for another term with OBama. I mean seriously? Romney? Seeing what they did to Ron Paul and his supporters makes me cry for our country. It really does. We not only lost the best chance we had of saving this country but we also lost the greatest statesman to ever be in Congress. I’m not over it and I am not sure how long it will take to get over it. I do know I cannot vote for the lessor of two evils ever again.

Doug, your articles are the only ones I can stomach these days because you’re not held to the dogma of political control. I truly wish you would write far more often because we all need far more materials that are worthwhile to read. Thanks for your efforts to help Ron Paul. It took a lot of courage to go against the grain. Speaking of the media..we need to hold the media accountable for their betrayal too because none of these travesties could have occurred if they would have just covered the news truthfully and offered “equal” coverage for all candidates. We all know why they did not give Ron Paul the time of day. It only takes hearing that man speak a few minutes to get it that he has real answers, real solutions, and real choices to turn our country around that will benefit “all” people. Thus they knew to allow him to speak freely for even a few minutes would greatly harm their chosen puppets Obama and Romney.

Ron Paul’s movement will go on because what he accomplished is far more lasting then any one election or one term as president can pull off. He managed to finally awaken enough of our people to the tune that they actually learned their constitution. That right there is the only hope we have for restoring this country to the greatness it once possessed. No matter who wins “we the people” have got to hold them all to the fire to abide by the constitution and abolish all of these acts that attack our constitutional rights.

  27. VOTE GARY JOHNSON — or see our Nation END 2012!

Just Say NO to Rmoney — VOTE for ANYONE but Mormon Mitt!

Keep Mitt’s mittens off of the White House — or face An American Tragedy!

  28. I’m nearly 60 and have never voted other than Republican …

Today for the first time I wrote in Ron Paul and the Judge for President and Vice-President; then I voted straight Republican for all the other offices here in LA County.

Some say a write-in for Ron Paul is a wasted vote and a vote for Obama. WRONG!

Obama is going to win California no matter if every Republican I know votes for Romney. Period.

So the best choice for a Liberty Republican, a true conservative Republican, is to write-in Ron Paul and send a message to the GOP establishment that I won’t compromise and vote for the next liberal, big government, war-mongering candidate they try to shove down my throat.

What if California was a swing state would I have voted differently? Probably not since I am simply DONE voting, ever, for the establishment liberal Republican; never again in my life!

The GOP better reform and do it quickly or it will become totally irrelevant to American politics.

    1. “I am simply DONE voting, ever, for the establishment liberal Republican; never again in my life!”

      Very well said.

      1. And at 54, I am also done with the so-called two-party system, which is now including the Libertarian Party (because of the purchases made by the Koch brothers.).
This year finally clinched it for me, though the 08 (s)elections were pretty horrendous, too. That year should have woken up all of this country’s voters, yet it didn’t.

I am ever amazed by people who vote yet have zero clue as to what was done to Ron Paul this season. It’s worse than what was done to Palin and McCain, in 08, combined. Yet the people still vote.

I only voted to give it one final finger to the entire establishment, or machine, if you will. I wrote-in Paul and I photographed all of my paperwork. *Will be filling out and sending in my affidavit via http://www.writeInRevolution.com
I think everyone should. The other three just are not worthy of ANY votes.

      2. You know, the printing press really helped the spread of the Reformation in the XVI century. This “internet” thing, and all that is associated with it, may be the technological game changer that today’s world need for reformation, this time not theological, but political.
It would be nice if this time around, the big money guys don’t stir up stupid civil wars, and the people is not as fool as five hundred years years ago to fall for the schemes and lies of the status quo.

  29. WILL PRESIDENT OBAMA SUFFER THE DREADED PRESIDENTIAL H-CURSE?

The H-Curse states,,,Any U.S. President who’s First, Middle, or Last
name starts with the letter “H” will NOT win Election to their own 2nd Term!!!

Rutherford B. Hayes (1877-1881),,,,Divided Electorate; Selected by House of Representatives

  30. Haha Romney, Bill Kristol, Benjamin Ginsberg, John Sununu……

Bill Kristol said he would like to see a PURGE of Ron Paul and his supporters from GOP.

Let me like to see a PURGE of all these Zionist scumbag socialists from GOP now.

    1. Bye, bye, birdie…let’s hope this chicken hawk is never heard of again!

Ron Paul’s supporters want to thank you “dear” Mitt for the way you trampled us on your blind path to become the next Dictator — it’s called Divine Justice, and we served it to you cold!

  31. Hi Doug,

Just a note: the only way the “Ron Paul” base will finally accept Rand (which they obviously should, but most won’t because of the Romney endorsement), would perhaps be to have Ron come out with a statement that he told Rand the Romney endorsement was “ok” or even a “good idea”. We need Rand to win in 2016.

  32. Interesting to see how many points Gary Johnson got (we all voted for him, thus denying votes to Mitt and the BO) — if he broke the 5+% needed.

Also, how many of the Ron Paul write-in votes got counted (I know a lot of people that went that route)?

  33. I’m writing this after Obama’s landslide win. It’s clear that Romney won’t be the person. Quite frankly if, in fact, Mormons are to be key in saving the Constitution they would first off need to have a deep understanding of what “constitutional” is. Romney certainly doesn’t seem to have it. His promise Repeal and REPLACE Obamacare , if elected, does not demonstrate any understanding of the Constitution at all. His deferral to Ron Paul on a constitutionality question during the Republican debates sums up his lack of constitutional knowledge well.

Yet that quote that you brought up with that Joseph Smith statement is intriguing. Another Mormon prophet (and well known Constitutionalist) echoed that same quote more recently in 1986 here:

If there is anything to this then I agree with Benson that it would take “enlightened members of the [Mormon] Church” as well as others who love liberty. Ron Paul [certainly would qualify as one of those others] has done more than just about anyone in his quest to save the Constitution. Romney really hasn’t done anything. He’s just a Mormon who came close to winning.

  34. Hey, Doug Wead.
Just here to say: I was right. Mitt was/is the fall-guy I expected him to be.
And, it is now, “duck season”.
Lame-duck season has officially began. We need to find a rabbit for 2016, someone with the sense and appeal of Dr Paul.
    (no, kids; it ain’t Rand)

    1. Anne, why not Rand? I’m open to others, how about you?

We need somebody who’s got a proven record of voting with the Constitution, and who can fund raise, and who has a nice organization, and who has charisma, and who is intelligent.

Rand checks off ALL of those. Who else can? Name one.

Sorry that you disagree about his strategy of endorsing Romney, no doubt BACKED BY HIS OWN FATHER, whom we all respect.

But to patronize those who would support him is not the attitude to have IMHO.

I’m open to others with the above qualifications.

      1. I’ve tried to respond twice and keep losing my comments.. (ugh, my fat fingers…)
Rand is closer to the Ted Cruz sort of Republican or the (fake) Gary Johnson Neo-Libertarian than he is to his father, at the core. For this, I will not be stumping for Rand.
I was not surprised one bit when Rand came out for Romney because this is who Rand really is. The only surprise I had from Rand was his stumping FOR his father.
And don’t forget; it was RAND who brought into his father’s campaign the people who stabbed Ron Paul (and US) in the back. Now Rand wants to remove that knife and pretend the injury was never there? Sorry, I do not forgive and forget, that easily.

      2. Oh, and Rand vs the TSA? Rand only did this when Rand was personally affected by the TSA. Only happened when RAND was searched and held aside, like have so many of us. Rand had no desire to go after them before it was Rand who’d felt violated.

I do not see Rand as a Constitutional libertarian at heart. And he may change as he ages, but he is far from that, as of today.

Because of this and because of who (Benton, etc..) brought into the Ron Paul campaign, to work against all of US, I will not be embroidering any Rand-2016 shirts or bags. There won’t be a Rand Paul sticker on my scooter. I won’t be looking to Rand to do anything different than what he and the others he helped to take-down his father this season have and will do, so I will not go with Rand.
I don’t think anyone should look to Rand, especially based simply on Rand being “a Paul”. He’s not anywhere near what I would want as a president.

It was, again, NOT the endorsement of Romney that put me off. It was Rand before that which totally turned me off to Rand Paul.

      3. BTW: Yesterday, I had a client over (I do embroidery and she had a big job I finally finished for pick-up). I said, “so, the Election, eh?”.. and, completely unprompted, she said: “I really do LOVE Ron Paul. I just cannot STAND that RAND.” Now, this is a woman in the know who picks and chooses her causes. She is not firmly implanted into any party (as am I not), and she gets it.

ANYONE who’s really studied both Rand and Ron Paul knows; the apple fell quite far from that tree!
Anyone that’s thrilled with the prospect of Rand-2016 should truly do some REAL research. Rand is NOT Ron. And it was certainly not Rand’s backing of Mitt that brought me to that conclusion. I expected it, because(?), this IS who Rand IS.

Perhaps Rand will figure out some truths his own dad has known for decades? Remember, though, it took Reagan pulling “a Bush” for Ron Paul to become disillusioned with RR. And it may take one of Rand’s people that he holds in esteem doing something similar, for him to get it. Until he does, I will not be supporting any Rand for prez ticket, in 2016, or beyond. I hope others will come to this conclusion on their own, too, as Rand is NOT RON and the Paul name is hardly an indicator for what Rand would do.
Come on, people. Research. and, THINK.

    2. Anne, you don’t like Rand the liberty-repub, and you don’t like Gary the libertarian, and you don’t like Ted Cruz tea-party-constitutionalists.

I know you like Ron Paul — but he is retiring from elections, if not retiring from giving speeches and such. So he’s not really an option for 2016, although Doug put forth the idea at one point that we might need to draft Ron once again… *if* Mitt would have won in 2012.

But with Mitt losing in 2012, and Obama term-limited after 2012, when 2015 rolls around we need to come up with *multiple* liberty-candidates who bear the flag of liberty and justice for all during the repub primary debates, and then we need to settle on *one* of them to be the standard-bearer of liberty in the actual 2016 primaries. Will you really settle for nobody but Ron Paul ’16… and write him in anyways, should he decide to remain in his well-earned retirement from the grind of elections? Or, are you just taking the position that our best hope is to see if some qualified liberty-folks emerge over the next few years, besides Rand/Gary/Cruz? Are you a fan of Amash, for instance?

      1. I do not like Cruz for what Cruz has done. I do not appreciate those that Cruz “hangs-out with”, as it’s indicative of what he supports. I would wager a guess that Ron Paul wishes he’d never stood up for Cruz, too. (I would love to ask him this– and Doug, if you know, let me in on that, okay?)
Johnson is far too young in the Libertarian party, jumping from the Republican ship. He has MANY Republican ideals, still, and the way he got the Libertarian nod was (mainly) based on the money provided his campaign via the Koch brothers. Nuff said.
Rand, i do not like for MANY reasons.
Rand is not aligned with his father’s ideas or ideals. I’ve noted this above (many times) and as far as I’m concerned, Rand has a lot of growing to do in order to be anything like his father. As I said, that apple fell so far from that tree, it is in the neighbor’s yard. In fact, speaking of the Paul’s neighbors, I have one client who grew up WITH Rand and went to school with Rand. He has followed both Ron Paul’s career as well as Rand’s “career” in politics (short as it’s been.). What does HE say about Rand?
“When it comes to honesty and libertarian ideals, Rand Paul is NOT Ron Paul.”

I don’t know how many ways to say it, but Rand is hardly a Paul, at ALL. He is not what I would choose as president, yet, and neither are the others. I do not hold out a lot of hope for any of these three, but, if I could change (as I have throughout my life), so can they. I’d have to see the real change before i jump aboard any of their ships.
But, again; do not put words into my mouth or ascribe words to ME that I have not said, okey-dokey?

      2. By the way, regarding Amash? I like what I have seen of him. I also like Jim Condit, Jr, too– very much. There’s another man, by the name of Wallace, whom I believe could be a great choice for candidate, and would not need the amount of, “grooming”, as the three you noted.
There are others, even within the REP PARTY, whom I like a lot more than Rand, Ted, or Gary J. Until or unless any of these three evolve into a libertarian Republican (or honest Libertarian), I will certainly waste neither my time nor my money on them.

        Is that clear enough??

    3. Jim Condit Jr, from Cincinnati, right smack in John Boehner’s home? http://jimconditjr2010.com/help2010.htm Winning *that* slot in 2014 would absolutely be a coup, and might just catapult Condit into the running for the presidency in 2016. This time, though, I’d recommend trying to take Boehner out in the repub primary, rather than as a third-party candidate (as Condit attempted back in 2010). You only need 75k votes to win the repub primary, versus 150k votes to win as a third-party in the general election. http://ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Ohio%27s_8th_congressional_district

Boehner was not the *only* bad actor in Tampa, but he WAS the guy who personally followed the teleprompter orders, which were rigged to force the scripted ‘outcome’ of the vote on rule#12… before that vote was actually taken! Maybe, if enough folks in Ohio district #8 see this video, narrated by Ben Swann… who not-so-coincidentally broadcasts as the WXIX nightly news anchor, serving the Cincinnati area… http://www.fox19.com/story/19479204/reality-check-dnc-runs-over-delegates-with-scripted-platform-vote Actually, now that I think of it, I wonder whether Ben Swann himself might also be persuaded to run for some sort of elected office, as well…. As for Boehner and Condit, there was something awful fishy about the 2010 election vote. http://www.therestofthestory2010.com/screen_shots_Nov_2_2010_election.htm

Since you think Jim would be a solid candidate for 2016, maybe you would like to contact Mr Condit — he publishes this info on his sites, (513) 741-2095 votefraud@fuse.net — and since he is also interested in vote fraud at the precinct polling place level, maybe he might offer some help/comments on the divulging votes stuff, as well.

p.s. One other reasonably-well-known candidate I meant to mention: what are your thoughts on Andrew Napolitano? He’s a NJ resident, so he could run for governor against Chris Christie in 2013 — govenor races in NJ are done in a weird off-year — and whether or not that was a victory, go on to run for the NJ senate seat in 2014. (TheChief who comments here on dougwead also likes Judge Nap for 2016.)

    1. Here are some numbers that will sober you up!

A lot Less than Half of the eligible voters bothered to cast their votes this time around.
So the “winner” got less than 1/4 — meaning over 75% of the American People do not care for Lil’ Hussein!

      1) The 2012 “election” was reduced by 12 Million (that is a huge decline from last election — showing that nearly 10% of the previous voters decided that NEITHER is worth the effort)!

      2) Who voted for Barack Hussein — and how this reflects on who determines our Nation’s path?

    2. j.r. — the Constitution is worth saving, and liberty is worth fighting for.

      I intend to do so.

Your pessimistic assertions are just that. Your adulation of Empire, based on Force, is not the way of the liberty-movement. We seek not coercive imperialism, neither imposed on us (by our rulers), nor to be imposed by us onto others (whether domestically or internationally).

The way of liberty is to end empire, and seek peace, guaranteed by a strong defense-oriented military, fair & even-handed diplomacy, plus commerce with all willing individuals abroad. The way of liberty is to end coercion, guaranteed by strictly obeying the Constitution in our justice system, halting the class-warfare of redistributive taxation, killing the inflation-tax & crony-bailouts of the Fed, nixing the war on sixteen-ounce sugary drinks & the war on weed & the war on milk, and phasing out the centralized bureaucratic nightmare of socialized medicine & socialized retirement & welfare-state breadlines. Liberty means self-reliance, liberty means voluntary charity, liberty means the government has very few jobs, and does them very well, with the most important job being to preserve and protect individual rights.

      …secure the Blessings of Liberty
      to ourselves and our Posterity…
. –from the Preamble to the Constitution, 1787

Sure, the two of us may *not* live to see liberty thrive, as I expect, or die out, as you expect. But that’s hardly the point, now is it?

  38. Principles we must stand by!

“A government big enough to give you everything you need, is a government big enough to take away everything that you have….” Thomas Jefferson

“They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security” BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

“Freedom is not merely the opportunity to do as one pleases; neither is it merely the opportunity to choose between set alternatives. Freedom is, first of all, the chance to formulate the available choices, to argue over them — and then, the opportunity to choose.” C. WRIGHT MILLS

“When liberty is taken away by force it can be restored by force. When it is relinquished voluntarily by default it can never be recovered.” DOROTHY THOMPSON

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.”—Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787).

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing” EDMUND BURKE

“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” ABRAHAM LINCOLN

“We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.
But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here. . . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.” — Written in a letter by then former President Theodore Roosevelt on January 3, 1919 to the president of the American Defense Society.

  39. Ron Paul schools Barack Hussein:
“If you don’t know the Constitution (the one you swore to protect) you shouldn’t be in Office.”

10 minute video — spread it like wildfire!

(also, note how without a teleprompter Lil’ Hussein can’t put two words together without mumbling, bumbling and stumbling)

  40. BREAKING NEWS!

***Petition for Texas to secede from US reaches threshold for White House response***

The People are finally Waking Up!
    —————————————————-

The petition on WhiteHouse.gov asks the Obama administration to “peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government.” The petition had surpassed 34,000 signatures as of Monday evening.

Similar petitions from other states have also been filed including: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Tennessee. However, unlike the petition from Texas, none of these states had reached the 25,000-signature threshold to get an official White House response as of Monday evening.

The petition on WhiteHouse.gov asks the Obama administration to “peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own new government.” The petition had surpassed 34,000 signatures as of Monday evening.

(interesting language: “to peacefully grant”…what would happen if it is not peacefully granted?)

However, unlike the petition from Texas, none of these states had reached the 25,000-signature threshold to get an official White House response as of Monday evening (with 30 days to go, how many States would also qualify?)!

  42. Ron Paul: You’re Not FREE if you Can’t Secede from an Oppressive Government

“In a free country, governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. When the people have very clearly withdrawn their consent for a law, the discussion should be over. If the Feds refuse to accept that and continue to run roughshod over the people, at what point do we acknowledge that that is not freedom anymore? At what point should the people dissolve the political bands which have connected them with an increasingly tyrannical and oppressive federal government? And if people or states are not free to leave the United States as a last resort, can they really think of themselves as free?”

    My Take:

The District of Columbia (Washington, DC) — where the White House and all Federal Governmental Agencies reside — have passed the point by their anti-American-anti-Constitution ACTIVITIES that they have FORFEITED THE RIGHT to be called the USA. De facto, THEY have already SECEDED from the Union by constitutional default, and any State that wants to secede from THEM is a State that wants to RETURN BACK to the Original CONSTITUTIONAL USA!

    1. Faced with a MANDATORY Response to the Secession Petitions — two top chickens from the White House have flown the coop — Barack Hussein left for Asia, and Hiltlery Clinton is Israel bound!

These two may run, but won’t be able to escape how their underlings respond!

  43. Illegal Everything…in America!

re: John Stossel (from FOX News)— spread this video like Wildfire, showing that nearly All our Liberties are GONE!
    ———————————————————

It is estimated that over 1/2 Billion Negative Laws, Rules and Regulations have been created by the Federal Government in the last 40 years.

This number is STAGGERING — More NEGATIVE LAWS than there are Americans (counting all men, women and children in the USA) TELLING US WHAT WE CANNOT DO (thus negative laws) upon the THREAT Of GOVERNMENTAL PUNISHMENT!

All these UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAWS are enforced by gun-totting UNIFORMS — if you have not run afoul of such, try selling Lemonade on our lawn…and see how many gun-toting Uniforms will come to shut you down by the threat of their guns they so proudly wear!
    ———————————————————

Some are awakening to the fact that Our Citizens have become the most government controlled peoples on this Planet today!

These Few Enlightened Citizens, these Brave Patriots, these pure Souls in search of TRUE Justice and Liberty for All, have started petitions in all 50 States to Secede from the Federal Government that by its anti-Constitutional and anti-American ACTIVITIES has FORFEITED THE RIGHT to be called the USA.

The goal of the Secession Petitions is not to break away from the Union, but to negate the Unconstitutional Powers that Washington, DC has usurped for their own anti-American interests, and return ALL States to the Original (Organic) US Constitution!

It is shameful that the Main Stream Media, and their parroting, brainless shills, have such fear of the Truth, and are spreading false and silly accusations to this American Principle — Secession (if we did not Secede from Tyrannical England, we would not be called Americans)!
