Ron Paul’s delegate math, an accurate update

Has Ron Paul won the majority of delegates from Washington State to the Republican National Convention?  That is the claim in a report filed by the International Business Times last night.   Has Ron Paul won the majority of delegates from Iowa?  That was a recent report from Rachel Maddow on MSNBC the day before.

Now, here are the facts.  No delegates to the Republican National Convention have been chosen from either state.  The selection of the official delegation from Washington State will take place May 30, 2012.  And the official delegation from Iowa will take place June 16, 2012.

Last Sunday night I reported on wins for Ron Paul in Minnesota and Iowa at the state’s respective district conventions.  Delegates were indeed chosen in Minnesota, at the district level, to be part of the official state delegation to the RNC in Tampa.  But not in Iowa.  The rules are different there.

The wins that I referred to in Iowa had to do with committee selection and the elections of district delegates to the state convention that could lead to a Ron Paul heavy delegation to the RNC.  The point to keep in mind is this.  It hasn’t happened yet.

In the end, Rachel Maddow will likely be right.  In fact, it will likely be better than what she is saying. She either got inside information from our campaign on the makeup of those delegates to state or she had her staff at MSNBC make phone calls to the delegates themselves to determine their favorite candidates.

By the way.  I misspoke on her show when I incorrectly claimed that Ron Paul had carried a county in 2008 that he had not actually won.  My point was right, that a Romney county chairman had postponed a county caucus that Ron Paul was expected to win, and one that he did eventually carry, but he had not won that county in the last cycle.  So mistakes are easy to make.

Which brings me to one more correction.  The International Business Times claims that Ron Paul will win a majority of the delegates from North Dakota.  Nada.  That will not happen.  In fact, that process is done and it is one of the states where the Ron Paul people were ambushed by Romney’s Goldman Sachs brigade.  While  Ron Paul beat Mitt Romney, who came in third place in the North Dakota state vote, Romney still won 60% of the delegation at the state convention by a combination of lawyers, parliamentarians, the elimination of paper ballots and controlling the audio visuals.  As the former state chairman said, “What could the Ron Paul people do?  Go up and write a delegates name on the screen?”

The point  here is to be accurate.  And when a mistake is made to correct it.  Which is a lot better than the New York Times or the Associated Press seem willing to do.  They have still refused to correct their lists of delegates that are now wholesale fiction.

So what does it all mean?

It means that journalists are beginning to catch on to the truth of the Ron Paul delegate strategy which is very different from what has been reported.  It means that we are on schedule to win many of those delegations from a number of states.  It means that a brokered convention would surely have happened if the Santorum and Gingrich campaigns had not collapsed.  And is less likely but still possible even now, along with other options, such as placing Dr. Paul’s name in nomination.  But it also means that things can go wrong.  It isn’t done yet.

Journalism is dead in America.  This is the age of entertainment.  Keep that in mind.  And double check your sources.

      2. Wow, tex2, you really need to get a grip. The federal government has no authority over drug laws, period, unless there has been an amendment to the Constitution (like the one for alcohol prohibition, which was repealed due to the obvious fact that crime went up) that I’m unaware of. Why post at all, when you don’t even know basic facts of the Constitution? You only make a fool of yourself, especially when you appear to be a typing hyena by posting “LOL” after every comment. Ron Paul does not condone the use of drugs, but realizes that, unless you harm someone else’s rights to life, liberty, and property, you’re free to be as ignorant as you want, just like you can be a slobbering drunk if you want … Quite frankly, making me wonder if the last would be fitting to describe your ridiculous behavior. Grow up.

      3. The Democratic Party AND The Republican Party (Except Ron Paul) have joined in on the C.F.R. / U.N. agenda to destroy America from within to submit to the Rothschild one world government enslavement by rich elitist international bankers like Goldman Sachs and international corporations like Monsanto.

    1. Paul,

This stuff gets so confusing with all of the different numbers coming at us from different media going different wrong way (almost like it is designed to obfuscate ; – ))

For my own edification, I’ve been checking out Ben Swann’s Reality Check. It has a really good series of breakdowns of the delegates deal, from explaining how the process works to progress in particular states and more likely running delegate counts than you’ll see just about anywhere – pretty awesome show & he’s got a YouTube channel you can subscribe to now http://www.youtube.com/user/BenSwannRealityCheck/featured

      1. Crucify him…..crucify him….. LOL!

The Passion of the Christ is a good movie, but I don’t know if I want to watch it THAT many times in a row, so let’s take a break from this repetitious “program” and allow other readers to comment on the below serious and real issues that result in baggage for Ron Paul. Tell me what you think, let’s have open and honest discourse, and since I’m a First Amendment kind of guy, even the “list” above is welcome to chime in:

Why Ron Paul will not be elected and/or would NOT be a good president:
        1. He is old, mousey, whiny, grumpy, skinny, etc. Do not underestimate the importance of these factors, as a very large number of voters are not familiar with the issues, and vote for vanity. Sad but true. It does no good to have good ideas when you don’t have the presidential image, and Ron has neither.
        2. He has been in Congress for 2 decades and doesn’t have a single bill to his name. We elected someone president with zero accomplishments in 2008, why would we want to do that again? How can you expect him to be able to lead the country when he can’t lead a single bill to fruition after 20 years?
        3. He even voted against his own bill to audit the Federal Reserve, because he didn’t get every single detail he wanted. He is so stubbornly rigid he simply takes his toys and goes home if he doesn’t get every little detail he wants.
        4. Many of his domestic policies are admirable, but how does he expect to implement them when he will have to work with Congress to get many of them turned into a reality? Will he simply hold his breath until Congress lets him get his way, because he has zero track record of using any other tactic to be successful?
        5. Most of his foreign policies are dangerous. If we pull out of foreign countries, the vacuum WILL be filled by Russia, China, etc. Once you lose your toehold, it is VERY difficult to expand military operations if the need arises. Think about how hard it would have been for the U.S. to fight Hitler if England had fallen. For example, if China decides they don’t want to allow free flow of oil, we would have no recourse, as it takes years, if not decades, to develop independent energy sources. He is simply naive to the point of being a traitor to his own country. Also, we need forward positioned military presence to fight the global war on terror. It isn’t being fought only in Iraq and Afghanistan, there are operations literally around the world preventing future 9/11 type attacks that simply cannot be fought by guarding our own borders, 9/11 should have taught us that. We must therefore disrupt the terrorist cells wherever they are, so they cannot organize, plan, recruit, train, equip, and attack again. To not do this would be suicidal.
For the above and other reasons, Ron gets the pot smoking and “freedom at any cost” crowd, and that’s all he will ever get…LOL!!!!!!

      2. tex 2,

In reply to your last line, YOU are part of the freedom at any cost crowd, not us. Try reading 1984 sometime.

      3. I’ll feed the troll that calls itself tex2.. though I really shouldn’t. Mister Wead, I doubt you want someone harassing posters that frequent your blogs…

        1. Age has nothing to do with being president, it’s a form of an idiot variety of vanity amongst voters– yes… but are you saying Regan was some spring chicken back then? Lol. Grumpy? Skinny? I don’t recall grumpy, maybe annoyed… but annoyed doesn’t equal grumpy. What, you saying he has to be an athletic type or fat? Fail troll.

        2. Not all presidents of past times have always had successful bills to their names, don’t go pining for that faulty reasoning. You’re fishing up bad excuses. Fail troll.

        3. You try arguing with people who don’t see the Federal Reserve as a threat to our economic stability. He did vote against his own audit bill– but because the audit was sandwiched in a bad spending bill, which of course, you know he does not vote for bad spending bills. Fail troll.

        4. Got any better ideas other than executive orders, bub? There’s also voting for house seats up this year… perhaps if you got off your ass and elected someone that truly cared about you and the constituents more than the greens that lobbysnakes push in your face. Fail Troll.

        5. Neocon rhetoric… oh how I will now savor this as a tantalizing delicacy of proportions. You honestly believe the widdle imaginary angry militants under your bed are going to get you? They’ll keep vowing to get us as long as WE’RE the terrorists on their lands… since you seem to know some vague aspect of world war 2, which is what all neocons seem to echo echo echo constantly. All I hears is “OMG WORLD WAR TWO AND DANGEROUS AND ISOLATIONIST.” Facts please, not “such and such could have happened” could-haves. This ‘war on terror’ is a joke and a detriment to our country, and so are you. Also… who’s going to foot the bill for all of this? Who is going to foot the bill for future pointless illegal wars, but are already suffering from being tabbed with the bailouts and excessive government spending? The taxpayers. You want war? You either slave for it forever with no hope of money for yourself, or you can get your preemptive murder-happy ass to the middle east– drag along your war profiteering bureaucratic friends in the government –and start swiss-cheesing innocent indigenous peoples. All for the sake of little imaginary angry militants underneath your bed.

Also let me remind you of 1953, which is FACT, that OUR C.I.A. overthrew… a democratically elected government. In Iran… for what? Free oil? You think those people weren’t going to stand for a brutal dictator that was the U.S.-loyal Shah(and that the U.S. backed Bin Laden before backstabbing him after the Cold War, and then Saddam… and ultimately backstabbing/scapegoating him too under false pretenses, even though he could have been dealt with differently)? A revolution happened and that’s what was coined “blowback”. Iran took back its government, alright, but angry Islamists got control… and now have been ever since. There you go, free history lesson, neocon. Not that Iran wants to go to war(but because they are being forcibly cornered… which beings me to another point I would like to make… how come Iran with one nuke is a threat when we have hundreds of thousands… and Israel has hundreds of undisclosed nukes in her own storage… who is the bigger threat here? Not Iran… eve if Iran did possess a nuke, who are we to tell them what to do, she is a country, is she not? she is entitled to her sovereignty.. is she not?), but neocon TV is pressing for war because mega billionaire war profiteers need their business to ultimately shaft war-tired American taxpayers and even their own neocon cheerleader squad of taxpayers.

And yet here we are, after years of meddling when we’re not really supposed to be militantly meddling… With Ron’s policy, we can be open to trade, foreign diplomacy without aggression, and be ready to move(on a proper declaration of war from congress) more powerfully as a true military than scattered like a bunch of ants across the world doing guard services for countries that have their OWN military…

Well now, I bid you good night, dear fail troll. I doubt it very much that I’ve convinced you… but it was a good write up!

      4. @Tex2:
Here is a response to the “5 arguments” you have copied and pasted all over this blog so many times. The arguments you are presenting are old, tired, and proof that you are not thinking for yourself. The obvious failure of those policies is staring us in the face. They are the policies that have been in place for the last 50 years, and are based on a stone age view of the world. There is not one point that has been accomplished, quite the opposite, this country is on the precipice of epic failure and to continue with them will ensure that failure.

        1. You are actually naive enough to use the argument of style over content? You are insisting it be a beauty pageant? Your argument is based on what? Appealing to idiots?

        2. You really are missing the point here. The whole idea is that we do not need more laws, we need fewer laws. You are seriously stating that unless a politician writes more laws and regulations into our lives he is not doing his or her job? That is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Are you not able to function unless the government is telling you how to?

        3. If a bill is rewritten to the point that it does not accomplish the goal, or represent your views, why would a person vote for it? Would you seriously sign your name to something that did not represent your values? In addition it would be an endorsement of ineffective legislation that would create a roadblock to effective legislation. Possibly this answers your endorsement of Romney, and your inability to see that he does not represent your “conservative” views. But you are willing to sign off on it because it says it’s Republican.

        4. At the very least some new approaches will be on the table. If Paul wins the presidency it will be a very strong message to congress. They may not give him everything he asks for, but they would be fools if they did not at least give his ideas consideration. Wait… the vast majority are fools. So REPLACE them and their policies!

        5. The policies you are presenting have been in place for the last 50 years. Is this country safer? Is it freer? Is it more financially stable? Are the people happier or better off? The USSR went down trying to do the same thing. Financially we are not able to support that policy, it is bankrupting us. It has also bred hostility towards our country. It doesn’t take much of an imagination to see that. If we had foreign troops on our soil, armed and patrolling our streets, how would you react? It is also bankrupting the principles this country was founded on. The citizens are now suspected terrorists and are being treated as such. We do not experience the freedom of a free people, but are rather treated as a threat to our own government. The foreign policy you are presenting has proven to be an epic failure and we need to look at some serious changes and fresh ideas.

The bottom line is this: The foreign policy this country has been following is the same policy of paranoia that put McCarthy in power. The longer that foreign policy is employed the more self-fulfilling it becomes.

  1. Red Alert! House Passes CISPA – This is HOW “Freedom” DIES!

There is ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE between the Tyrannical Republicans and Democrats when it comes to FREE SPEECH – They BOTH want to “stifle” OUR Civil Liberties!

In the past – The Nazis burned books – The Communists took over the Media and turned it into Propaganda. Tell me. Is the passage of CISPA any different?

    1. DT – With ACTA in place already, sans any input from the populace or representatives, who needs CISPA?

hmm… maybe ISPs as a cover their butts change to make enforcing ACTA less likely to get them in so much legal hot water?…

  2. I think he probably will win Iowa, and i have also been careful to say, Ron Paul DELEGATES are in strategic placement (re: chairs, state levels, etc..), because the numbers are STILL nowhere.
With Santorum and the Grinch out, it seems that certain states’ delegates will be un-bound, unless the GOP of these states plays (even more) games. I think the Ron Paul delegates WILL be ready for them.
Knowing the rules is half the battle.
Forcing others to PLAY by the rules is how we win!

    1. You’ve done more to turn off any potential Santorum/Gingrich delegates than anybody else on this site. LOL

And if they actually read your posts instead of just glance at your picture, RIP will lose even more. LOL

      1. Tex, you’ve been snorting the Kool-aid powder too long… I can see the grape flavor stuck to outer edges of your nostrils. STFU!

      1. Nope, Romney endorses a wholesale extension of the Bush/Obama policies.
Fed, debt, war, prohibition, infringement of individual rights, the list goes on.

  3. Excellent points, Doug – went and checked out the ND convention, as I’d not heard about its results yet – Ben Swann, of course, was on top of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aywE4XOVpFA

If RP ends up running 3rd party, I think you have a sound byte “You weren’t on the committee,” that highlights the GOP leadership’s disenfranchisement of its own delegates… and if the leadership does not care about their voices, how can it claim to care about the voices of people who participate less directly in the party?

      1. If it was ‘Done. Finished.’ then this poster wouldn’t still be here. He makes me giggle. I think he’s a little worried or he wouldn’t be on here using all his time to read and reply negatively about the campaign. Well, he’s right to be worried and again I have a smile on my face.

      2. Ben Swann is on a local Fox affiliate – so, kinda yes & kinda no – Of course, even Fox News had Judge Napolitano, so the MSM gets it right every now and then – likely purely by accident ; – )

      3. Tex2 – It is not clear to me what you mean by that. Would you explain?

As a note, the broadcast from Ben Swann includes video footage from the caucus… So, there is no need to rely on Mr. Swann alone.

What might benefit you in terms of your making relevant postings is actually watching links provided, etc. That would also make for much more interesting discussion – and maybe our sad little gnatling could finally garner not just the attention s/he so desperately craves, but good attention. Come on little gnat, u know you can post relevantly. It would so adorable if you progressed right in front of our eyes. ; – )

      4. Aww, Tex2 – Before I thought your lack of relevant posting had to do w/ choice. Now it is becoming clearer that it is simply natural ability related. Instead of deep dyving, which you seemingly are unable to do, you post the same tired things over and over again in slightly different ways… because that is all you can do. A bot could be programmed with greater variety, and yet a bot would not have to live the sad truth of being aware of its limitations. I sincerely apologize for attempting to draw out what is not there and hope having this lack so publicly revealed does not embarrass you too heavily. Adieu, mon petite gnatling ; – )

      6. Adorable, tex2 – Monkey see, monkey do, not 1x, but 2x! Imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, I would be flattered – except that it is so easy to program a bot to echo or a parrot to, well, parrot… It might, therefore, be progression for either of those things… definitely for a gnat, but not for a full human mind… So, I’ll try to take some flattery feeling from it. However, recognizing the likely breadth of the mind imitating me, it is only the smidge-iest bit flattered I can feel – Thx, tex2 for that smidge, whatever you may be. ; – )

  4. I don’t think that Santorum’s campaign collapsed. I believe he quit so as to purposely keep a brokered convention from happening. His purpose was to make sure that another big government candidate like himself would get the nomination. Had he continued, he would have lost, but he probably would have leached enough delegates from Romney to force brokered.

He knew this was the case and did not want this to happen because it would actually give Paul a real chance. Santorum is just like the rest of them despite his claimed “anti-Romney” mentality. Him dropping out allows him to not endorse Romney which helps him save face for his followers, while effectively endorsing Romney by allowing him to bypass brokered convention.

This is politics folks. If you want to win an election. Run a bunch of candidates who are actually the same against each other and in the process create a bunch of media while directing the process yourself. This happened by intelligent design, and if I was running Rand Paul’s future campaign, I would take note. When Rand runs, there should be a minimum of 4 major liberty minded candidates who are running against him. If someone doesn’t like Rand’s foreign Policy, thats fine as long as they like one of his “competitor’s” policies. The competitor of course will be in on the gig the whole time, and in the process will gather delegates as well as generate media for the leader. In the end, those delegates can be easily co-opted by telling them that party unity is necessary to beat the “evil” opponents.

The key to this is getting 6 or 7 candidates on the stage at the debates that are all on board with this strategy. Control the debates and control the candidate.

This sounds a lot like Nazi Germany Goering tactics.

    1. Another conspiracy. LOL

I think he ran out of money and his daughter is sick, but that’s just MSM tripe, right? LOL

I think Santorum will endorse Romney, sooner rather than later. LOL

I doubt you could find 4 other “liberty” (nutcase) candidates, and Rand isn’t even one of them. LOL

You sound a lot like an idiot. LOL

    2. …,
Do you feel that Rand Paul stands as well as Paul for liberty and constitutional adherence? If so, what causes you to think thusly? (I’ve been disappointed by his choices in those regards several times over the past year, and am looking for more sources of info to deep dyve into and get a better rounded picture. So, any info/links along those lines would be most welcome.)

      Thanks,
      Heather

      1. Why are you talking about Rand? LOL

We need to stay on the RON PAUL bandwagon. LOL

        The word is “dive.” LOL

I’ll use it in a sentence, ” RIP’s campaign took a dive the day it started.” LOL

  5. Well, until Santorum and Gingrich release their delegates, they are still bound to them (those that are bound.) Unfortunately, Santorum and Romney have a meeting soon and I will bet that Santorum will be offered a “Deal he can’t refuse” and will pledge his delegates to Romney. Of course you know that Gingrich will give his to Romney. I seriously doubt either of them will do so until after all the Primaries and Caucuses are complete. The Santorum delegates aren’t Dr. Paul’s yet.

    1. None of them can ‘pledge’ their delegates to another candidate. They can advise the delegates of their wishes but once they are unbound then they are not transferable by the whims of the candidate that used to hold their votes.

      1. I never said they could. But if history proves right, most of the delegates will move to where their initial choice recommends. LOL

And by the looks of the other candidates’ faces whenever RIP spoke at the debates, the above practice will continue. LOL

      1. tex2

I think you misunderstood. Those recent posts weren’t about you “staying on”. They were posted for you to “stay under” – Stay Under the Bridge, that is. LOL

      1. Crucify him…..crucify him….. LOL

  6. TEX2 = PAID NEO-CON SHILL
He is literally ON EVERY article comments section of every one of Doug’s articles talking his neocon BS

    1. RINO CHASER = UNPAID RIP NEO-CON SHILL
He is literally ON HARDLY ANY article comments section of every one of Doug’s articles talking his dinocon BS. LOL

    2. Rino,

If Tex2 were paid, I think the powers that be would be clever enough to get Tex2 to use multiple accts for posting – though could be overestimating their tech savvy?

What seems more likely to me is that Tex2 is a sad little person house bound by dint of lack of places that will accept him or her within their bounds. Having no ability to find mental stimulation on his/her own, and noone who would like to be around him/her to interact in person, Tex2 has taken to trolling boards to garner responses from people – the fragile, worm like psyche not caring if the attention is good or bad – just that it is attention. As this is likely the only attention Tex2 will be getting from anyone, we should not begrudge it. It takes so little from us, but clearly it means so much to the very minuscule, grey, and pitiable life of Tex2.

      1. No, that would not be overestimating at all. LOL

Have you considered the possibility there is more than one individual signing in as tex2 keeping you RIPtilians running all over the place on this blog? LOL

      2. Aww, it looks like Tex2 had some nerves struck, and is either revealing the truth behind the acct or simply trying to cover up his/her sad little darkling habits – Don’t worry little darkling, pity is not vengeance seeking anger. We won’t bring any more of your sad little troll secrets to light today, and hope you find a great deal of comfort in your tired, tweeny, fading husk of an online persona. Enjoy the board rhetoric, gnatling. : – )

      3. 7. Iowa has a very strategic position, capturing a lot of state committee positions. However, the neocons are already up in arms and trying for a rules change to bind some of the delegates. The actual national delegate selection happens the night BEFORE the state convention. While not secret, in the past it has served to allow a small group to handpick who they wanted. That won’t happen this time. Paul’s supporters are well aware of the GOP strategy, and WILL be at that Friday night meeting. If I had to project, I would say at least 20 of the 28 will go to Paul, including the superdelegates. Striker is the State chair, and a visible Paul supporter.

      1. Iowa has first in the nation status, which influences the way the Midwest votes. The Midwest has a good number of electoral votes when you factor in the populations of states like Illinois and Ohio. Iowa is more important than you think, little troll.

      2. I think you have an inflated view of Iowa. LOL

Iowa is the center of attention until after they are done with their primary, then the attention goes elsewhere. LOL

      3. Hrmm…well, it’s a caucus, not a primary, for one thing. Iowa may only have 28 delegates and 3 superdelegates, but they are all unbound. If Santorum releases his delegates, they are unbound as well. Gingrich won’t get a plurality of delegates, so he will not be on any of the ballots, and his delegates will be unbound. You have no inkling of what really goes on during the electoral process, do you? If you’re a Mitt apologist, more power to you, but I can tell you that Romney had ZERO representation at my convention; one of the largest in Iowa. Unbound is an important distinction in this process, so Iowa counts for more than you think. And, well, maybe you need to move out of Mommy’s basement and join the adult world.

      4. That makes it less important, it’s a caucus AND a small state. LOL

Who cares about your piddly numbers? LOL

Yes, it’s full of wheeling and dealing, which RIPtilians call “lying” and “cheating.” LOL

Wow, really? One of the largest in Iowa? LOL

And, well, maybe you’re stupid. Check that, you’re DEFINITELY stupid. LOL

      5. Sorry, Scott…your insults are about as silly as your posts. Don’t you have anything better to do with your time?

    1. That’s a relief. But you will still be able to buy his book and pay to hear him speak about the campaign. LOL

That is, if you have any money left from giving to RIP. LOL

  8. If combination of lawyers, parliamentarians, the elimination of paper ballots and controlling the audio visuals, does the trick…. then lets make “RP teams of 4” of our own: ie Ron Paul people who are lawyers, parliamentarians, computer & audio visual specialists. We are rich in talent, organize us!

    1. You should have gotten organized at least 2 YEARS ago. LOL

      It’s too late. LOL

      Go home. LOL

But keep giving ALL of your money to RIP. LOL

  9. Itty mini texie gets paid by the number of digitally scannable ‘LOL’ (and now ‘RIP’) he can drop in comments. If he only knew how much we (philosophically) agree with the impetus.

  10. tex2 is a big government-loving waste of space.. take your entitlements and wars and fuck off, most of the people here care about the Constitution and the philosophy of liberty. If you want unconstitutional wars, pick up a gun and go fucking fight them your damn self. If you like entitlements, go rob someone yourself instead of having the government do it for you little bitch. While you’re doing that, you can go suck on George Bush’s cock and tell him how sexy it is to be a war-criminal LOL. Romney’s a shill just like Obama. Keep fighting the honest candidate.. if a civil war starts, at least we died fighting for the right thing, Constitution, liberty, freedom, justice, and PEOPLE BEFORE PROFITS. If you die in a civil war, as far as history is concerned, you will have died fighting for big government and you will be labeled a loyalist. And that gives me peace.

  11. BAN *tex2* from this site IMMEDIATELY — Never allow IT to post here again! ALSO, DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY OF ITS TROLLING !

Dear, Doug — this is your HOME page, and all of us posting here are your guests. Don’t know about your tolerance level, but mine ends when an unwelcome guest tries to set my home on fire, in order to chase out all the welcomed people I’ve invited!

No normal exchange can be held here — since the #2 quickly fills in all REPLY slots….so no-one else can respond sequentially to what was stated before. This is its main goal (secondary is its spittings of hatred to all that’s good)!

The #2′s strategy is simply hitting the REPLY button (posting some vitriol), then another REPLY button — thus VIRTUALLY HIJACKING any thread from allowing others to directly respond to the original post.

PUT a STOP to IT — send Doug the needed message/program to BAN/BLOCK this Shill from his blog!

Will he simply hold his breath until Congress lets him get his way, because he has zero track record of using any other tactic to be successful?”

He would have the power to pardon everyone for tax evasion, gun possession crimes, etc. The only limitation is that he can’t pardon himself esp when it comes to impeachment.

      2. Whether we should be overseas or not, war must be declared by Congress so the troops have a strong morale and we should know what we are getting ourselves into.

  12. …says, I like your comment. “Crowd the field” is one of several strategies being used, in races all along the spectrum. I saw it in a U.S. Senate race in my state a couple years ago. Use all these candidates to run focus groups in the media and the polls, seeing what “plays” best here or there.

DT, thanks. Dr. Paul is a model for us, always deferential, always polite. We need to carry a strong witness for him.

I’m against the ban; let the thing keep wasting time and resources. No one here will be swayed a bit, and that diverts energy from more productive things it might otherwise be doing.

    1. There are plenty of people being swayed against RIP, because most blog visitors never post anything. LOL

You’re LOSING anybody who was curious about RIP and now they aren’t walking away from him…they are RUNNING!!! LOL

      1. Yeah, that is why Romney can’t even hire enough supporters to break a few hundred people at his rallies and Ron Paul easily draws thousands. Sure, they’re running away from Ron Paul. Funny thing is, the one’s who currently support Romney are about as excited by the thought of a Romney presidency as someone who is waiting on root canal surgery, IMO. His campaign has had to even pass out “on loan” so-called, “grassroots” signs to his “supporters.” My guess is the reason you spend so much time here is it must be awful lonely on Romney’s sites and what will you really talk about? How much Romney and Obama are alike?

Can you imagine a debate between the two?
Romney: you’re bought and paid for by bankers.
Obama: you should know. they’re your #1 contributors

Romney: you signed the NDAA allowing the indefinite detainment of U.S. citizens without trial, due process, charges, etc.
Obama: and in a debate you said you would’ve signed it.

        etc. etc.

Really more of a “which and how many deck chairs to we rearrange on this Titanic” than a debate.

      2. Romney has votes, RIP has Amway-like fake excitement. LOL

I think you’ll be proven wrong when they debate. LOL

  13. Ron Paul to WIN — or America to End 2012

Take your pick…there are no other options!
    —————————————————————
Ron Paul must take Rmoney to Tampa — to expose the GOP’s perfidy — when hundreds of thousands of Real Americans will come to the Convention voluntarily, supporting Ron Paul, the ONLY REAL AMERICAN PATRIOT in this race (vs a few hundred BUSED Rmoney bullies pretending they are actual people)!

If the Republican Convention cheats Ron Paul out of The Nomination — then, go Third Party!

There MUST NOT be a way allowed, for Rmoney to “debate” BO one-on-one — since this will be a Clowns’ Show (two liars trying to out-lie each other…when they are one-and-the-same HUMAN TRASH)!

Ron Paul MUST be part of the DEBATES — so, he can clearly show up THESE politically trained monkeys for what they are — The ULTIMATE Destroyers of the USA!
    ————————————————————–

Elect Ron Paul as President, if you want to Save America — vote for anyone else, if you WANT to DESTROY the USA!

    1. @Surfisher, Ron Paul has to decide to go 3rd party by mid-June in order to get on the ballots. He doesn’t have the luxury of waiting until the RNC is over and reviewing the results. Just an fyi.

    1. If all IGNORE the #2, IT will be reduced to nothingness!

      1. Surfisher, please remove my name from this list. I never asked to be added. In fact, I’ve posted very clearly that this request flies in the face of what we stand for!

  14. Tex2,

So far I’ve seen you flapping your gums but I have yet to see who you support. Which “righteous, successful, honest, you can trust ’em” candidate are you supporting?

The one who could face felony vote buying charges, Romney, or the one who is the first non-citizen U.S. president whose lawyer admitted recently in open court in NJ that his birth certificate which he released is a FORGERY?

    1. I support any Republican nominee except RIP. LOL

If RIP were to win the Republican nominee I would vote for him over Barry, but it would be painful. LOL

It would be nice to have a reputable news organization report the Barry forgery court story. LOL

I find it interesting that people like Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh haven’t latched onto this issue if it were true. LOL

Even if there were “vote buying charges” involved in the Republican nomination process, it is:

      1. Politics as usual, and therefore not something that would go to court, and
      2. Romney is probably distanced enough he couldn’t be successfully prosecuted

But keep trying, there must be a way for RIP to be president with 5-10% of the vote. LOL

      1. Thanks for the link. LOL

Perhaps this is where RIP can focus his attention and do something productive for a change. LOL

  15. Doug Wead —

Good to see you admit that you made some mistakes in your postings — here is how to counter the upcoming NEGS:

I’m a human being — so prone to some mistakes, which I try to, AND DO, correct ASAP. Unlike the rest— that are closer to programmed Robots… that keep on running the same old Dogma, without missing a beat!

    1. Suck up much? LOL

Doug HAD to admit his mistakes, it was getting out of control to the point even the diehard RIPtilian was beginning to question him. LOL

  16. Can someone please explain to me what the American electorate doesn’t get? A wise man once said, repeating the same mistakes over and over while expecting a different result is the definition of insanity, yet here in another election year and it appears were doomed to repeat history.
The difference between our two parties has become blurred resembling two bookends for the same book? Our political system no longer represents choice, but limits it. Campaigners spew rhetoric to woo the electorate vote yet at terms end, deliver empty promise. Regardless of affiliation nothing changes, policy remains the same. Both send our young to fight in undeclared wars producing little more than monetary plunder to the establishment. An endless war on terror designates America a battlefield, spawning legislation shredding our constitutional civil rights in the name of home land security. In the end, American tax payers foot the bill to finance their grand vision of globalization.
The two party systems is an illusion offering choice, yet in reality both parties work together to limit choice, validating an establishment’s function to create change that in reality presides over a systemic policy which stifles change.
Main stream media is the tool of the establishment, brain washing Americans to believe for example, “The Ronald Reagan Revolution” which resulted in a tripling of the national debt and legalization of millions of illegal immigrants. On it has gone since. Give me an ounce of difference between Mitt Romney and Obama? What has Obama accomplished that Bush didn’t start? When was the last time we had a president that didn’t reflect the integrity and moral standard of Newt? With a click of the mouse you can dig up the dirt on them all.
For the first time in decades this election offers change. With the greatest endorsement ever given to a candidate for the President of the United States, he has the endorsement of main stream media, an endorsement conspicuous by its absence. Ignored at every turn he’s treated like the thirteenth floor of a hotel building. Media has programmed us to believe a vote for him is wasted, yet few deny the logic his platform represents. I can think of no better endorsement than the fear and terror the establishment has for him.
For once in decades we have a choice that doesn’t require choosing between two evils. For once we have a game changer. Finally we have someone who stands for real freedom and liberty. Lobbyists’ shun him knowing him incorruptible. He commands support of more active military personnel than all other candidates combined. He holds low rank among Washington’s wealthy politicians. Click the mouse on him and here is the fault you will find, never deviating from his beliefs for personal gain of wealth or power, He has tirelessly dedicated his career defending and protecting the Constitution. Finally we have the opportunity to break the chain of repeating the mistake in voting for the Status Quo. For my part I will not make that mistake, I vote historical change, I vote America first, I vote Ron Paul.

    Steven T Tambroni

      1. Me, too. LOL

  17. Mr. Wead,

“It means that a brokered convention probably would have happened if the Santorum and Gingrich campaigns had not collapsed.”

So a brokered convention is out. I would argue that this is NOT because Santorum and Newt dropped out. It’s due to our own failing campaign.

There are still other options but things could still go wrong. Unfortunately, not much has gone right so far.

RP has to secure half or more of delegates from 5 states in order to be on the nomination and so far he has OFFICIALLY secured NOTHING. Yet we’re being continuously TEASED that we’re “doing much better” than the media states.

If the AP and such are ALL WRONG then why doesn’t the RP site simply post its own delegate tally of what’s TRUE?

I feel that I’m seeing the truth and that the RP campaign is trying to pull a Jedi mind trick.

    This is a sad day.

    1. If I understand, there is no delegate count for caucus states, until they hold their state conventions to select them. The campaign’s comments on results from the caucuses come from reports of the district conventions that send delegates to the state conventions. It’s a long process. Few understand it, which is astonishing, especially on the part of the news outlets. In the weeks that ensue between the primary straw polls, which are non-binding in many cases, and delegate selection at state, nobody knows the delegate count. The Ron Paul strategy relies on the hearts and minds of people willing to become delegates, and participate in their multiple conventions. Romney will be denied 1144 going into Tampa, if enough r3volutionaries have become delegates. That would have been easier with spirited Santorum and Gingrich delegates in the equation. It’s still possible, but still, nobody knows. That’s not a jedi mind trick. The mind trick is the press reporting innaccurate hard numbers, and saying, with every mention of Ron Paul, that he has no chance of winning. Win or lose, many, many new people have become involved in the process, see cheating, learn parliamentary procedure, decide to run for office, on and on. It’s how the system is supposed to work. Ron Paul and his message are breathing new life into the republic.

      1. That’s right buzby, everything is still up for grabs, so keep sending in your money to the RIP campaign. LOL

It’s just like Amway, only better. LOL

There MUST NOT be a way allowed, for Rmoney to “debate” BO one-on-one — since this will be a Clowns’ Show (two liars trying to out-lie each other…when they are one-and-the-same)!

Ron Paul MUST be part of the DEBATES — so, he can clearly show up THESE politically trained monkeys for what they are — The ULTIMATE Destroyers of the USA!
        ————————————————————–

Elect Ron Paul as President, if you want to Save America!

      3. Thanks, buzby,

Right. There is NO count for caucus states so when OUR campaign makes statements like, “We’ve won Iowa and Minnesota with Colorado likely following!” then these statements are NO BETTER than the so-called “innacurate hard numbers” reported by the media!

Our campaign is founded upon TRUTH yet all we seem to hear are FALSE and misleading claims.

If these aren’t mind tricks then I don’t know what they are!

I simply don’t know who to believe anymore.

      1. @tex2 You have no idea what I’m sad about so your patronizing is entierly wasted.

The fact of the matter is that YOU DON’T KNOW JACK, either. You can post over and over again the same inane drivel but ultimately, you don’t have access to THE TRUTH any more than anyone else.

We are ALL in the SAME state of PURE SPECULATION.

Whoever or whatever you’re supporting hasn’t officially won ANYTHING yet, either.

        Or haven’t you noticed?

    2. If all IGNORE the #2, IT will be reduced to nothingness!
Just a yapping dog that follows its betters trying to get attention….!

  18. tex2, you are mega fail and from what i can see, no one will ever takyou seriously, howeveer i would like to point out that you argue like a preschooler — “no, you are wrong!” —– which with grown ups doesn’t hold any weight, and i am willing to bet you are about 11 maybe 12 years old.

A grown up argument consists of a deconstruction of the evidence and argument given with a real argument and evidence to back your argument up.

however, i doubt you are capable of doing anyhting grown up like this.

so my final response to you is…. Children should be seen and not herd… Shut up and let the grown ups talk.

  19. I am most certainly a Ron Paul supporter but have to call a spade a spade. Any message built on liberty and states rights that cannot gain support in the South will never have mass appeal. If the liberty movement does not do a better job at courting and educating Evangelical Christians it has no chance.

  20. Hey Doug…was this a typo, man?

“a brokered convention probably would have happened if the Santorum and Gingrich campaigns had not collapsed.”

      1. Doug, I think your computer’s clock is off (fast) by 12 hours. Either that, or you’re posting from London 🙂

  21. tex2 was here! …..again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and, HAS NO LIFE WHATSOEVER.

  22. Starting a poll — all good people here, vote for the best Ron Paul quote! Here is mine:

    1) “Government cannot grant you a thing, it can only place limits on that wich was rightfully yours to begin with!”

  23. Republican Party Principles

    I am a Republican Because…

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each persons dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

Click the mouse on him and here is the fault you will find, never deviating from his belie

Beliefs for personal gain of wealth or power, He has tirelessly dedicated his career defending and protecting the Constitution. Finally we have the opportunity to break the chain of repeating the mistake in voting for the Status Quo. For my part I will not make that mistake, I vote historical change, I vote America first, I vote Ron Paul.

  24. What did this young girl do, to get the Dogs-of-State to pursue and knock her of her bike brutally to the ground, and then maul her into painful submission?

Watch carefully the chronological order (FREEZE picture at the time count given below — to see why):

    1) 0:32 — one of the Dogs-of-State signals the rest that he’s seen a cyclist taking a picture of “SOMETHING THAT MUST NOT BE SEEN”! So they run in pursuit.

    2) 0:44 — she is dragged down by two Dogs-of-State

    3) 0:51 — many more “Gang-of-Brothers” arrive surrounding their victim being mauled on the ground

    4) 0:57 — see the hand taking her cell phone away from her

    5) 1:10 — she manages to free one hand

    6) 1:11 — she tries to pass it in desperation to the people outside the circle of about a dozen Dogs-of-State trampling her rights

    7) 1:12 – 2:03 — she is still screaming in pain…but no-one can help her (since the AGGRESSORS, The Dogs-of-State are ARMED, and thus can inflict pain AT WILL on the disarmed, peaceful citizens)!

    And more abuses follow!

This is the MOST DISTURBING VIDEO I’ve seen taped on American soil!

DISGUSTING is mild — words fail me to describe my feelings on this OUTRAGE — watching the ‘US KGB’ MAUL and ABUSE a young girl!

Don’t know what you’ll do about it — but I’m sending this to Judge Napolitano, the ACLU, News Media outlets, and even contacting my Lawyers to look into filing a civil case against these SS Troopers (hopefully pics can be enlarged so their badge numbers can be seen)!

    1. Rule #11 shows Valid Grounds for Mitt Romney to be Removed from the Republican Ticket!

      http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?376049-Mitt-Romney-is-going-to-be-invalidated-as-nominee-of-the-Republican-party!-GTFIH

It is certainly a Valid Cause to remove Mitt..but even WHEN he is NOT Removed (since the RNC will never allow it), the ruckus caused BY IGNORING THIS RULE will be EVEN more effective as a Publicized Weapon showing Mitt’s COLLUSION with the RNC Leadership, in order to CIRCUMVENT the Legal Election Process!

  25. Shocker In Tampa — Ron Paul Wins!
    ————————————–

These WILL be the headlines next day — here is why:

According to RNC Rule #38 — at the Tampa Convention NONE of the Delegates are ACTUALLY Bound! Delegates can vote according to their own judgment and conscience — and are NOT bound to vote according to how most delegates from their state vote.

Precedent was set in 2008 Utah by Legal Council for the RNC (stating: The RNC does not recognize a state’s binding of national delegates, but considers each delegate a free agent who can vote for whoever they choose).

Also, the Republican (and Democratic) Parties are Private Organizations — so voting within a party is NOT bound by Election Law!
    ——————————————————

What does this mean? It clearly shows that ANY or ALL delegates can abstain from voting in the 1st round. Or in other words — Bye-bye Mitt !!!

What do we need to do? Push for as many more delegate wins for Ron Paul as humanly possible — so a Ron Paul victory in Tampa is assured!

But most importantly NOW — SHARE this information (spread it like wildfire)!
