Even while a Sunday Rasmussen poll showed that the American people opposed Obama and the Democrats Health Care Plan by a 54-41 majority, the national news media trumpeted its passage with glowing language.
USA Today made the effort sound Quixotic referring to the “Democrats’ improbable and history-making push for near-universal medical coverage.”
While conventional wisdom holds that the White House always reserves bad news for Sunday, when it is too late for the morning newspapers and old news by Monday, an Associated Press report in the Washington Post turned that on its heel claiming that it was the president’s work ethic that made it happen in that famous black hole news hour. “There was no hour too late for the president to embrace this moment,” their gushing coverage explained, describing midnight in the White House when Obama and Biden “strode into the ornate East Room.”
Oh, what courage, what verve! Working till midnight for the people.
The bill is expected to cost $1 trillion.
The San Francisco Chronicle seemed to suggest that the 54% who oppose the bill are racist and homophobic. “Before the final debate, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco locked arms with her Democratic lieutenants, including civil rights veteran John Lewis, D-Ga., to enter the Capitol through a phalanx of angry protesters. It was an emphatic show of solidarity after several ugly incidents on Saturday when demonstrators hurled racial slurs at several African American members of Congress and anti-gay insults at Rep. Barney Frank, the gay Massachusetts Democrat.” Oh my.
The most hilarious coverage came from AOL, Yahoo, Google News and other online sources who ignored the views of the 13 point opposition spread. Hmmm. Maybe Newsmax and Fox TV is leaving some money on the table. Maybe a less leftist search engine would be a money maker. Just as the imbalance in the national television media gave birth to the Fox News Channel.
One hopes that the media continues to ignore the majority in their audience, and moves blissfully along with the notion that if there are enough words to the contrary they will change their views by November. Such arrogance helped elect Ronald Reagan whom the media had dubbed a racist and warmonger. The American people didn’t buy it.

November can’t come fast enough. The Republicans didn’t do anything to fix health care while they were in power (crossing state lines, tort reform, accepting existing conditions, taking insurance with you when you change jobs, etc.) so this is as much, or even more, their fault than the Democrats, who are expected to act in a liberal/socialist manner. Throw them ALL out in November!
Pelosi and her entourage paraded through the protesters precisely to try and get some kind of derogatory reaction from the crowd so that the left could plaster how racist and hate filled the protesters are. As far as I have seen up until now, there has been no proof that anything was actually said. They are going by the report of a biased politician.
But hey, who am I to judge? Politicians never lie.

Doug I am tying my comments to this article so your readers can see , as I did personally , how the Tea Party Members WERE impacted by Obamacare being passed in the “dead” of night , behind closed doors by arm twisting thugs from a single party ONLY… AGAINST THE WISHES OF THE MAJORITY OF “WE THE PEOPLE”; AND approved by a bunch of weak sissies . Never in my lifetime have I felt so unrepresented BY MY GOVERNMENT.Nov 2010 cant come quickly enough !!!!!!!
Prior to “Black Sunday” (meaning in the dark of night on one of the darkest days in our country’s history )the numbers for the Tea Party Express kickoff “Showdown at Searchlight ” were 5,000-6,500 estimates by RSVP’s. By Monday morning early , they had turned to 10,500 just for the Searchlight event.We decided to go !!!!And the attendance far exceeded that despite the efforts of Harry Reid’s hometown to prevent people from attending by the very same “thugery ” we now see in Wash DC.and in townhalls all over this land .
The second stop in Nevada was put on by another Tea Party group at Henderson Pavilion and that became instantly “sold out”. Ann Coulter was the keynote speaker. It was packed . Then the Tea Party busses came ( very late of course- due to the huge crowd ) .I observed the press up front & close . I was in the front row right where they were filming …the never filmed the crowd when it was full ….they filmed mostly the speakers AND if a good point was made and the crowd applauded …they turned the cameras off . REPEATEDLY!!!Freedom of the Press to slant & distort .
I had originally planned to go to both events but friends from Nevada were attending with us said Sarah Palin was to be at both. If we went to Searchlight we’d be stuck in traffic for hours and miss Ann . Boy am I glad we listened . Most who attended Searchlight were stuck just as was predicted …including the Tea Party Express busses
3-4 hours on the road ( a 39 mile trip )
The crowd was so HUGE the Tea Party didnt get to Henderson until 6:15 pm. There are U tube helicopter pictures that dont lie about crowd size , the press was only taking snap shots here & there. Creating not reporting the news .
When they got there they all related the story of massive crowds (20,000 plus)not counting those turned away by local police , Harry Reid supporters with signs sending the busses the wrong way , egging Andrew Breitbart as he tried to interview them , then egging the busses and telling the police Breitbart and Tea Party people incited the incident . Video proved different and the local sheriff just walked away …not interested in the people who really did it with huge numbers of eyewitnesses and video .
Then there is the sign we have a picture of…actually a billboard smack in the center of town …right where the press was staging from .
WILL ROGERS NEVER MET HARRY REID ….Lets see if David Black gets that one :-))
Every campground in Laughlin , Searchlight and many around Vegas were sold out . Land was donated for RV’s, Campers & 5th Wheels ( everything from week end sports campers to $500,000.00 Class A Phaetons . And parking was FREE …..There were Ferrari’s next to VW’s ….there were people from all walks of life , young , middle and old , men & women , black , white ,red, yellow & brown , wealthy , middle income and many struggling financially . This event was FREE
so all could be in attendance .
Henderson had a “free area ” on the grassy slope of an amphitheater venue …and VIP or donor seats under shade . All SOLD OUT ….
We even had a Chuck DeVore from Calif …whom Tea Party announced their endorsement . Many many folks from Calif …he got a HUGE “SHOUT OUT ” FROM THE CROWD . All positive .
THIS WAS NO WOODSTOCK.The was orderly , respectful but also determined to “Take Back Our Country” at the polls . The only “thugary at all” was from Harry”s supporters .but there were so few of them it hardly mattered . The event took on the name of its main detractor

Too bad the press wasnt at the same event I was …oooops they were ….must have had those ol’ blinders on ….or so busy “spinning” they missed the whole point .
So now its our turn in Calif ….to CLEAN HOUSE !!!!!
and SENATE !!!!!!

The Tea Party needs to go beyond cleaning house, they need to stand on a single issue – 12 year term limits for all of Congress.
