Will be on FOX NEWS this afternoon at 1:45 PM EST, talking about the upcoming wedding of Jenna Bush and Henry Hager and the history of weddings of presidential children. What fun ! Tune in if you have the time and give me some feedback so I can make the material more interesting for future segments.
I am noticing quite a number of mistakes in print articles. Some quoting me. For example, they say that the wedding of Alice Roosevelt took over every square inch of the Washington Post. Not true, of course, but it did take over every square inch of the front page, barring the titles and the little weather box.
And when I refer to 22 weddings of presidential children which took place during their father’s presidency, some papers say there were 22 presidential children married during their father’s presidency. Not true. Elliot Roosevelt was married twice during that time (five altogether,) so he counts as two weddings but only one presidential child. So 22 weddings, but 21 children! Got it? It is kind of tricky.
The best articles are the ones I am able to “facts check” before going to print.
They’ve made more egregious errors.
