The Hillary Clinton – Nancy Pelosi Cat Fight!

Obama has won the nomination but the cat fight for Vice President may just be beginning.

I’m talking about Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton.  Would Pelosi actually quit her position as Speaker to run on the Obama ticket?  You bet.  And in some respects she would be the perfect solution for him.  Her negatives are not as high as Hillary’s, she comes from an even bigger state and she heals the disappointment many woman are going to feel over Hillary’s loss.

But for all her negatives, Hillary Clinton has one big advantage over Nancy Pelosi.  Picking Hillary would unite a divided party.  That’s why Pelosi is trying to end the process and end the animosity.  That’s why she is calling for Hillary Clinton to drop out.  It not only scores points with Barack Obama for bringing the contest to an end, it also makes Hillary less needed.

Ironically, the worse the battle between Obama and Clinton becomes, the more bitter, the more negative, the more Obama will need Clinton, all of her negatives notwithstanding.  Putting her on his ticket will unite the party.  As to the negatives?  Polls show that Vice Presidential choices seldom matter anyway.

But would she really accept a second position?  Is she really angling for that?  Absolutely.   In the broad, long view of history, a Clinton, any Clinton, returned to power will wipe out the impeachment.  It will be making the statement, “obviously the American people decided that the impeachment was an exercise in politics or they would not have so quickly returned a Clinton to power.”  And that will work for both Hillary and Bill and their future, wherever it may lead.  Besides, if the Clintons end up moving into the Naval Observatory, the Vice President’s residence, it will still offer her another shot at that other executive residence across town.

This may be her best chance to rise to national power.  Make the last few weeks so contentious that only having her on the ticket will solve it.  And in November, in spite of all her negatives, she will ride Obama’s popular coattails into power, serve loyally as Vice President, thus erasing the “too ambitious” charges and finally have a shot for herself.

A good point to consider, and you have knowledge inside politics, obviously. From what I have seen in the media, I have viewed her an unlikely Vice President, as she would likely only consider the top job, and do almost anything to win it. But, she has already been the First Lady, and so you could very well be correct and she could use the VP position as a stepping stone.

She seems good at being contentious. Well, back to final revisions…:)

Nancy Pelosi is almost as despised as Hillary. Would it be to the ticket’s advantage to choose another divisive figure who doesn’t have any built-in followers?

They need a popular moderate to attract independents away from McCain. Pelosi isn’t going to cut it.

I’ve written about this dream teaming of Obama/Clinton on my blog and permit me to reiterate what I believed then.

I believe that Hillary needs BHO more than he needs her. Why would he want to put with four years of the Clintons, especially with Bill the shameless applause junkie trying to steal the limelight?

I wrote the following passage at a time when BHO had not taken the delegate lead and Hillary was the front runner:

“As for Barack Hussein Obama, whom I have dubbed Martin Luther Kennedy, if he accepts the VP nod from Hillary, it will render everything he has said about being this agent of “change’ as a twisted joke. He will be another in a long line of political hacks who trade principle for power.”

If Barry O get the nomination and asks Hillary to be his VP, I will react the same way. No self-respecting person would want to work with someone who for months impugned their record and character with such unrelenting fervor.

But politicians aren’t self-respecting, are they?

We’ve learned in the last few weeks that BHO is a major league political hack and opportunist. So it may not be any great leap for him to bring a vicious harridan like Hillary into the fold after having accepted a racist and demented black cleric as a “mentor.”

I THOUGHT WE WERE ALL ON THE SAME TEAM ….. DEMOCRATIC

The negative attacks are escalating. The effects of the negative attacks are escalating. The cause and effect factor leads me to believe that if it continues, someone is going to be politicaly destroyed and the other left politicaly wounded.

What makes this more alarming is that its occurring within the same political party.

If the goal of the democratic party PRIMARY is to establish a strong candidate to challenge the republican party. From my perspective THIER aproach cancels out the end objective.

At this point its almost too late to come together as a cohesive political force without both lead candidates pledging a plolitical truce to NEVER TO ATTACK EACH OTHER AGAIN. APOLIGIZE FOR ALL NEGATIVE ATTACKS ON EACH OTHER. AND DEFFEND ANY UNWARRANTED ATTACKS AGAINST A FELLOW TEAM MEMBER. AND ABOVE ALL TRY TO ENCOURAGE THE MEDIA TO STOP THE INSTAGATING.

This can be ended immediatly if the demicratic party leader holds an emergency meeting for the porpuse of settling this dispute behind closed doors. The party and its leaders should establish binding rules of ingagment that govern the conduct of any candidate representing its party. The democratic party should have a vote within the party to establish these rules as party law for the main porpuse of strenthening the party as a whole.

All of these differences should be debated and settled within the party before allowed to be argeued in public.

DO YOU THINK THE PLAYERS OF THE CHICAGO BEARS COULD WIN A FOOTBALL GAME IF THE PLAYERS BEGAN ARGUING AND FIGHTING EACH OTHER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME. THEY WOULD CERTAINLY LOOSE AGAINST A FAR LESSER APPONANT.

WHERE IS THE HEAD COACH? WHERE ARE THE LEADERS OF THE TEAM? DO YOU THINK YOUR FANS ARE ENJOYING THIS ? WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR FANS GET FED UP AND DECIDE TO PLEDGE THIER SUPPORT FOR ANOTHER TEAM?

DECIDE WHO THE QUATERBACK IS GOING TO BE (PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE)

DECIDE WHO THE RECIEVER IS GOING TO BE (VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE)

AND LETS GO OUT AND WIN THIS GAME OF POLITICS AS A STRONG COHESIVE TEAM.

    THANKS

    Mr.Wead,
As a woman I cringe at the prospect of either of these women taking such a position. I hope you are wrong about inclining women will take a Hillary loss as a loss for women. I am sure some women gauge their votes on this and it’s a shame. To me it doesn’t matter what their sex is. It matters what they will do for the country.

Personally I don’t think the US can withstand another Clinton near the White House. It’s shocking to me she would have the nerve to run much less get this far so soon after so many scandals of her own and when her husband was in power. I am not even talking about Lewinski either. The last time I checked giving top nuclear secrets to the Chinese was treason. I guess it only is if it’s prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Not one serious case has been carried out in our country for far too long. Millions into so-called investigations to end up doing nothing waste all our time and insults our intelligence. And I am not just referring to the Clinton’s here either. Rove comes to mind and we can see that will be a wash too.

Pelosi doesn’t back her own party platform. Just as McCain doesn’t his. A majority of Democrats are fed up with her because she immediately removed impeachment from the table as soon as she gained her power and went out of her way to stop anyone else from going that direction. She has since handed a majority of votes of her party to the republicans for what they have put on the table for passing in bills and legislation and then said she was against those items. Democrats are none too happy with her. Both women are beyond filthy rich….another disconnect with their party because many Democrats…Not all…want a representative who is not so far removed from middle class. But who among any of our elected can fit that category these days?

Anyway, it saddens me that the memory of American’s have become so short and so easily manipulated. The Clinton’s should be behind bars. Not on the campaign trail. Right next to Bush and his co-horts. We need real representation in this country FOR the people. These people in this dog and pony show are not it and Ron Paul is not getting the time of day. So the people will get what they didn’t fight for.

In the meantime we get the angst of getting dragged through another sham election year of mud slinging. No real substance about real issues with these people that do have serious issues to be addressed, but it makes for great entertainment of the masses who do not want to really know the true state our country is in today.
