Regina Noriega and “the era of women.”

Listening to the audio version of Ayn Rand’s classic bestseller, Atlas Shrugged, I was reminded of Regina Noriega.  She is the most recent sensation in a growing list of outstanding women in the field of direct sales.

This was the one field that men seemed to have to themselves, Mary Kay Ash being the anomaly.   Increasingly, in politics, journalism, education and business, women are doing the work.  Hillary Clinton appears on this week’s TIME magazine cover crushing a little man beneath her heel.  By the way, the new editor of TIME is Nancy Gibbs, a new star in her own right.  More and more, men are increasingly being seen as having only one exclusive function, namely, protecting women from other men.

Regina Noriega has built a career creating brands and, well, networking, building genuine relationships with people in the field of direct sales and network marketing.

Regina’s tenacity, drive, vibrancy and ability to be a leader is known and greatly admired in the industry. Everyone that’s worked with her on any level knows her standards are high to the level of perfectionism and that she expects everyone around her to operate on the same level. Mediocrity in any form is not an option.

Again, to use the Atlas Shrugged metaphor, she’s never taken the easy road.  Rather than ride the train, she thrives on building tracks and at the same time she’s comfortable swimming against the rip tide and can turn from defense to offense on a dime. Strategic is a word that describes her leadership skills.

Having spent 40 years as an amateur historian of the whole network marketing industry I’ve watched her face many professional challenges and tackle them with leadership skills that display not only strength but grace and courage. Her negotiation skills and work ethic is famous.  And always, she practices the golden rule.  (No, not that one, the real one.)

She’s usually the only woman, and minority woman at that, seated in the boardroom. She’s highly respected for her strategic mind and treats all around her with complete frankness, always thinking about the goals of a team above everything else. She talks hard and direct but always makes everyone feel like they are always in it together. She makes you want to drive yourself hard not only for yourself but for her. The best thing about her is that she is passionate about  helping people first and joining people in their personal development journeys.

I’m not sure where she is headed.  Will she take the route other woman business stars have taken and enter public life?  Will she be another Meg Whitman?  As a corporate executive she is legend.  So there is always that. And she is one of the rare corporate animals in network marketing who would thrive in the field.  Not many in that category.  It would be fun to watch for woman are increasingly proving the misogynist, American, MLM old fogies that they can build groups bigger and better than they.  Look at Natasha Yena in the Ukraine.

Which brings us back to the dilemma I first posed.  What does this all mean for men?  What will we do?  Fight wars you say.  But that work is increasingly falling on the shoulders of mechanical drones.  We may soon see women sitting before computer consoles in America and Asia, duking it out through surrogate metal hardware on the ground.  Yes, for that we may need little boys too, Ender Wiggins, who have quick eye hand coordination but even then we don’t need men.

In the  celebrated, famous, Greek democracy of antiquity, women could not vote.  They could not own property.  Their word was not accepted in a court of law.  They were not even counted in a government census.  Today, at least outside the Islamic world, they are emerging as a dominate force.  Their activism has changed education.  Their votes have changed world governments.  And they are in the process of changing business as well.  They are all over the ballrooms of Davos.  Oh yes, I forgot to mention banking and finance.  There is Janet Yellen, the new chairman of the Federal Reserve.

So here come  Regina Noriega, the bright new face in direct sales.  We should not be surprised.  She is yet another star in an ever expanding galaxy of women high achievers.

I can personally attest to all of these traits that the most empowered women I have ever met, Regina Noriega carries always. Me being a product of her direct mentorship and training, I have been able to drive myself harder and faster in only the direction and mindset of absolute success. She is already a huge name and legend in business, but I think as a little more time goes by she will be remembered and highly respected by a wide array of people everywhere. She will forever be remembered as one of the most empowered buisness women our business world has ever seen, because like Doug said she thrives on building the tracks and that is all I see her doing.

In life we all have defining moments that change who we are as a person. No one knows when those moments will come but when they do it is up to us to decide how we will allow them to define us. This is something that I learned from Regina. As my Mentor, Business Partner and Friend, Regina has taught me that one can not sit on the “Train” and hope that life will give us what we want and think we deserve. We must “Build the tracks” for our future and our success. Paving the way for what we want to achieve in our lives so when these defining moments are in front of us we are ready.

By using the Atlas Shrugged metaphor, Doug Wead has shown us that Regina is a strong and inspirational woman. If you have been fortunate enough to meet Regina, you know that the comparison to Dagny Taggart is well deserved. Regina takes charge and makes things happen. Yet always considers how her actions will affect others. She is a leader like I have never seen and I am fortunate to call her a Mentor and Friend.

Meeting her was one of those defining moments in my life. I have always seen myself as a hard worker but never really aspired to do more with my life than what I had. Regina saw potential in me that I never saw in myself. She pushed me to what I thought was my breaking point but she knew better. I have achieved more in my life than I ever thought possible and I thank her every day for this. I went from being ok with the status quo to having ambition, confidence and know that I can actually make a difference in this great big world of ours.

This Era of Women is defined by Regina Noriega and all women like her. They are all inspirations in what the future holds for all of us. The list will continue to grow and we will see evening more women changing the status quo. Yet when it is all said and done it will always be Regina that I would want in me corner.

“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.” Regina Noriega is the perfect example of someone that has mastered mapping out a course and created the end she desires! Her incredible success is proof of this. Kody Green, a team 10k executive leader, recently said that “everything Regina touches turns to Gold.” Anyone that has worked with her can attest that this is a fact. What is most inspiring about her is that she wants everyone else to be as successful as she is. What an incredibly selfless person! Regina has embraced young college students that are in the molding stage of life and inspired them to drive their ambitions to a reality. My son is one of these recipients. In just a few short months my son has grown in confidence, skills, motivation and determination by leaps and bounds. It is incredible to see the transformation in every realm. Regina has a natural ability to bring out the best in people and recognizes their true potential instantly. She believes in their capabilities and edifies them so they can build their dreams. These young entrepreneurs have an incredible opportunity of a lifetime with Regina as their mentor. They are in a great defining moment of their life, as Rick said. I am grateful that this caring gracious yet powerful woman is leaving a legacy of hard work, team work, ethics, and kindness for many future generations. Regina is power unmatched! EXPECT SUCCESS everywhere Regina Noriega goes! It has become a great privilege to learn every time she speaks.

    • I couldn’t have said it better myself Rosa! Regina Noriega would be an incredible mentor for young women all over the world at a time when they need it most. There isn’t anything women can’t do and Regina Noriega is a fine example of that in today’s business world. Talent, dedication and an abundance of knowledge and experience; she really is the total package!

Her voice resonates through the world of direct sales and she is the person I would like to have on my team any time!

  7. The next Oprah Winfrey? Could be! Regina Noriega is one of those rare women that come along every so often and revolutionizes that way we work. She can hold her own in the board room and as a talented brand strategist. I haven’t seen anyone else with the skill and dedication levels that she possesses; she is a truly brilliant woman!

Regina is a very empowering woman and she seems to have the Midas touch in everything she does. For a business woman to come up in the ranks so quickly and still remember to help others on her way to the top, truly speaks volumes for her abilities and attributes to the business community.

I have been following this story for a while and although I don’t usually post comments, I saw the need to do so right now. It seems that everyone commenting here has so many good things to say about Regina Noriega and that has given me a new take on the original article. I think that the commenting puts a personal touch in the article as many times we read through a post and forget it when we read the next one. This is one that will resound in my head for a long time to come as Regina seems to be the business woman’s business woman and there doesn’t seem to be anything that can stop her. She is what many people aspire to become: dedicated, hard working and successful.

Talk about a great write-up and it looks like Regina already has quite a fan base here on the site! Having this kind of take charge woman in the business world is what gives me hope for my small business and for anyone else out there who thinks that they can’t accomplish greatness. Regina Noriega is proof positive that greatness comes from within. :)
